  • It's so weird that people fainted when seeing this! I mean come on it's not that bad!

  • I'm sorry you had to go through this, Erik.

  • He doesn't actually look that bad for a hideously deformed french phantom :P

  • I enjoyed this clip of the 1925 Phantom of the Opera....Have been to several theatres and movies over the years and it is a thrill to see this one. Bravo!!!

  • who composed the music in this version?

  • 5:20 poor unhappy Erik!

  • u mean 1929

  • people back then fainted after seening this seen!! such a great movie!

  • 2:54 awsome unmasking

  • oohh this is so creepy!!! i love this movie haha.

  • That was impressive to see. Great score and acting, and interesting costume Christine is wearing. And all that "clasped hands" pleading! Of course, by today's standarts Lon Chaney's bald head is more unsightly than the face.

  • this is the scariest silent movie I´ve ever seen and I have seen alot of silent movies

  • could you send me this I would be very grate ful! thanks you !

  • supposedly women fainted at this scene...probably of laughter

    lon chaney is brilliant, though

  • what song is that he is playing?

  • In the story he is playing a piece of his opera, "Don Juan Triumphant" - which is based on the legend of and opera "Don Giovanni". As for the music in the movie itself, it was added later - the entire movie was filmed in silence. The composer for this version of the film is Carl Davis.

  • a lush score; very effective orchestration.
