John Calvin sure does get a bad rap. He was by far the most devoted in the history of the Church. It's easy in the 21st century to throw stones at Calvin, but no one does their homework of what life was in Europe during the 16th Century. If today's Calvin bashers lived in Calvin's time they would be either deceived by the Roman Papists or they would surely flee to Calvin's Geneva.

@calvinismisacult To the Jews, Christians are a cult. Calvinism is Biblical Christianity ascribing to God all the credit for salvation. Than again you may be correct. Calvinism was not from John Calvin.

the man had a very hard life. He had little time of happiness I think. But for those few years he was married I think he was the most happy.

Thanks for your comment. Biographically I agree, but this video was actually created in response to a more theological issue... that Calvin felt "Election" was a blessing and that we should be overjoyed at the prospect - hence "Don't Worry, Be Happy - about Election"

excellent point however, the doctrine of election does make me very happy! It means that I know it is God who is incharge of my eternal fate not myself! It means I cannot screw it up like anything I work with (especially computers for some reason)! Some people have a natural seriousness to them that no matter how hard they try they just look misserable all the time. I can proudly say I follow in that lineage just as Calvin and Edwards were. That Whitefield though he was a riot!
