Jennifer Batten is an amazing guitarist, Michael asked her to dress like that, its a really tough solo to play alone, and then wearing that and playing in total darkness!!!! that takes some SERIOUS SKILL!!!
Jennifer Batten played the Beat It solo at the Bad Tour, Dangerous Tour and History Tour. This one at the Dangerous Tour is my favorite! When I saw her playing this guitar solo for the first time I sat there with an open mouth and wide open eyes xD Jennifer looks so crazy with all the lights, the huge horns on her head and the flashing guitar! I was so fascinated :)

I think she does a great job, idk why people are saying Batten sucks. The fancy clothing is due to Michael's style. If you watch Beat it live with EVH he doesn't even play it right, he's just drunk =p
@ZenZill ... Seriously, as a guitar player and lover of classically-based shredding and anything else, I cannot think of one valid reason to bash Batten other than she does not (that anyone knows) have a penis. Seriously. She kicks ass.
she might not look great suree, but its a gig so its allowed to be OTT. and, for the record, the solo was fucking amazing! the day i can play that, ill know im a good guitarist.
Actually, I dont agree that the gig justifies gratuitous headgear! Think about how stiff youd have to keep your neck walking around stage balancing that crap and playing the guitar at the same time... trying to have your natural flow!
As for the solo, its difficult but doable. I 95% nailed it last night. Thanks to a lot of wonderful uploads on youtube all the best getting it down :) and please don't dress like a peacock while you try!
