  • Grand Moff Tarkin FTW!!!

  • Wow, somehow i missed this video.

  • On the other hand, I think Rob was just enjoying himself and I'm sure he was in complete control the entire time. The guy may not have even been the least bit shady for all I know.

I guess this just got blown out of proportion. Sorry to comment on it 2 weeks later, I'm sure things are fine now.

Best wishes to both you (Rob) and Mel.

  • I think/hope this whole ordeal is over now but I see where both of you were coming from. First off, I too would probably feel a bit uneasy letting a stranger in the house. Especially a salesman who simply wants to take advantage of me by doing whatever he can to get my money. On top of that, they are generally shady people in my experience. If he started to act different/shady mid presentation I could understand maybe where Mel was coming from.

  • Oh my.... Hope his finds you both well!

  • Rob = big nose coke bottle glasses Star trek dorky jerk off

  • I'am on your side Rob, In other words i got your back. Or you could even say, I'am down with ya, you live with her Rob so you know whats best for her and you from what history has taught you. Learn something new everyday.

  • Poor Rob, trying to vent through a little YouTube video and then gets attacked by a pack of Mels loyal fans (<--a club I have been a member of for quite some time now! :~} ) I do agree..there may be a little overreacting from,,,two of three parties (which include you, Mel, and the pack of loyal fans i was talking about, lol) and I really think this is a matter that shouldn't have even hit a single computer screen. Hopefully things are calmed down at home for you Rob. All the best,

    ~Mrs.Bid~

  • Hey, theres no harm in letting the vaccuum salesman be the entertainment for the afternoon. Everyone watching this video knows Melinda's issues, and hopefully those who have responded were only trying to be funny.

  • I hope Melinda runs off with a door to door salesman.....that would serve you right !!!!

  • I don't deserve this from you or from her.

  • Well you're lucky - Melinda doesn't seem like the running off type.

  • I am lucky.

  • Seriously, who sells vacuums door to door anymore. Why on earth would you let any stranger in your house. Go to flippin sears if you want a vacuum! I'm sorry but I'd be rude too. If you know she has these issues WHY ROCK HER BOAT. ? Door to door salesmen are creepy- even the mentally ill know that one, Rob!!!!

  • I know better than you or anyone else what Melinda's issues are, and it changes from day to day. I don't remember her being this rude to anyone before, except on youtube.

Door to door salesman are annoying & I agree with Melinda that I will never let any more of them in my house. That doesn't mean she should kick someone out of the house after I invite them in, just because she's paranoid, or just because you're paranoid too.

  • Nah. I'm not paranoid. Rob, YOU DIDN'T EVEN WANT A VACUUM !!!! So what really gives.

  • It's my decision. If I feel that it's harmless to let the guy in even if I don't want his products (we told him that when he first came in), then it doesn't mean I'm naive or putting Melinda in danger by letting the guy give his shpiel.

I let him come in pointlessly. That doesn't mean that anyone's safety was compromised, or that I made a potentially harmful decision. I behaved reasonably. Melinda behaved unreasonably, and then aired our argument publicly. I have nothing to apologize for.

  • It would really suck to be a door-to-door vacuum salesman... That said, I still don't want them in my house.

  • Rob, you are the man. You may have come up with a new sport against door to door salespeople. Invite them in, then sick Mel on them and enjoy! Wouldn't we all love to have a Mel around when we need to fend off some pushy salesman? And I'm sure there are other perks to having Mel around. You're a lucky man Rob! All the best.

  • Conclusion: Melindas videos never suck (as she states sometimes). However vacum cleaner salepersons always suck.

  • no problem rob...

  • Hello Rob, There is a remote possibility that the "saleman" may return and commit a crime later. That is why I have Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson at my beck and call...regards...

  • There must be cheaper and more effective ways for robbers to scope out a house other than buying a brand new $500 or $1000 vacuum, unwrapping each individual part in front of me as he demonstrates it, taking it apart and putting it together again like a Marine disassembling his rifle, and wasting time on a long sales pitch and demonstration. Those are some of the reasons that I found it credible that he's just a regular salesman. If he's a robber, then he deserves to be in pictures.

  • You don't get it. It's about Melinda's perception of her own safety not about them casing the joint for your crocheted beanies. It's about her feeling unnerving fear and having terrifying thoughts. To you and I making these judgements is easy. For the schizophrenic it is a much deeper issue. It's more life-impacting!

  • And I still wouldnt let strangers in . What real good could come of it? And again, you weren't interested the vaccuum in the first place.

  • I'm glad that Melinda has strong supporters here. Whether I was going to buy a vacuum is not the point. How about if we invite a friend to our house next week and Melinda starts to feel a bad vibe about them and tells them to leave immediately? If she was that agitated I would go along with it, but nobody is going to tell me I behaved badly or her safety was compromised by letting this person in the house, just because Melinda got a bad vibe about it.

  • I'm not angry about the fact that Melinda over-reacted. I'm angry that she and others are saying my reasonable behavior was a *problem*, because I didn't anticipate how unreasonable *she* would be! You can live with a person for 12 years and not always anticipate the range of their psychosis from day to day. It's a continual learning experience.

In your role as self-appointed advisors on that learning experience, you and Mel's other blindly loyal supporters are *full of fail*.

  • This is like I said in my video. I'm not blaming Melinda for behavior that would be rude from anyone who wasn't paranoid. In fact, she seems to disagree with what you're saying, because she says paranoia had nothing to do with it, and that she was being perfectly reasonable.

Either way, you people are treating me like I did something wrong because I failed to anticipate how unreasonably Melinda would behave! Am I allowed to go to work tomorrow, or should I anticipate Mel freaking out?
