I disagree. GTA4's plot is pretty much the only thing superior to GTA:SA, putting aside the generational differences.

SA's plot was just silly gang-banger glorification with a player-character who was a total sociopath with basically zero redeeming qualities... like all previous GTA protagonists to that point.

Niko, however, was the first GTA protagonist to actually feel like a genuine human being worthy of sympathy, and for that reason I love GTA4. Best GTA protagonist to date.
