Thank you for posting this incredibly beautiful song....I have not heard this ballad for so many years..She continues to be both an amazing singer and woman!
Thank you SO much. Never heard this before. AMAZING. Heart did this on their "Soundstage" concert w/Nancy singing it and THAT is the first way I ever heard it. This is every bit as good (dare I say BETTER?! lol). Elton John of course deserves all the credit for such a BEAUTIFUL song. ;) THANK YOU!!!
I don't remember this as I grew up really religious and was not aloud to listen to alot of music as a child.I may have heard it though when out in the world.
For some odd reason it was never obvious to me before that her lips did go through some kind of transformation. I love, and I mean LOVE the way she looked before she altered her looks. But then, she is a strong and smart woman and she decides over her body. I adore her so much. Her honesty which goes so well together with both her boldness and the bashfulness.
I love you Cher. You are the only female I ever found extremely sexy and beautiful. As a gay man that says a lot! You are my happiness so many times through the difficulties in my life. You go girl!
I remember taping this song directly from the TV on my tape recorder during a rerun of this particular episode and I knew it was this show from the description in TV guide. I still have the tape. This is a beautiful song and beautifully sung by Cher.
If you asked her, she would tell you that at that this particular time in her life, was when she was happiest. The pictures reflect the freedom and sense of fun she felt for the first year after she left Sonny. 1974 and 1975 were her teenage period, where she let loose and had fun, no restrictions. Her singing, to me, was at it's best during this period. Her openings to The Cher Show...she was vibrant and strong in her delivery, and her sly wit and smile made her absolutely irresistable.
I love this song too! She does a great job. I have a tape somewhere of the footage of her singing this song on her show. It's with her and a hansome man in a gazebo. Someday I'll get around to learning how to transfer it over. 'til then, thank you for your version with awesome slide show!
I so agree... what an exciting time in Cher's career the 70's was. For me, my favorite period of time. I still love today's Cher but.. back then.. she was smokin' hot and that voice was incredible too. Thankfully we have all these great clips to watch and listen to.
This was great. One of my favs by her from her solo tv show. Perfect material for her voice, and the slide show was beautiful. Especially the black and white photo from '75 with the major cleavage. What a babe!
this kind of song is perfect for cher, she knows just how to convey both the meloncholy and the melodrama. the song is so perfectly realzed that it sounds like a single release. thanx for posting--and the hard work you did with the photos--bravo!
Her voice sounds SO unusually RICH in this song--like she just had a CUP of HONEY! It's SOO BEAUTIFUL & SMOOTH! GREAT choice & wonderful slow moving of the pics! J'ADORE!! MERCI!!
I think she never stoped loving sonny.

Lesley Duncan wrote the song, not Elton, but Elton did a beautiful job on the song, as does Cher.

...and what I also meant to say was that her honesty and no-nonsense personality makes her unique in a Hollywood filled with trash. Cher is REAL!! :)
