thanks for the props! I have this song downloadable at Reverbnation. YouTube won't let me post links...so you'll have to search there. Reverbnation/guymartin.
The Original, as much as I like it sounds dated and a bit too much like War's Low Rider. This is the definitive interpretation annihilating the YESCA guitar solo which is a bit incoherent towards the end. Love the movie. Stayed up many a night in the early 80's watching it on cable tv.
The guitar riffs are more intense in this remake but not over done it's perfectly leveled with the percussion. It's brilliant, it didn't stray from the original feeling and the solo was extended to perfection, great remake.
got ur message sorry for the long reply i have the song later i will play with it iam thinkin mixin in a hip hop track and scratchig before the guitar starts and all the in betweens gotta say ur version is way better than the original love it
After giving the original another listen, I declare this version DESTROYS it and hope the clip owner doesn't mind I'm going to rock it on my Zune in my vehicle for awhile. (2 15's, a 480w a/d/s amp, 6 1/2 components in kickpods)
Excellent cover! Did you make little Carlos Santana faces when you were doing the solo? Because I always imagined that the guitarist on the original was making little Carlos Santana faces during the solo. How could it be otherwise?
@nickjorg1 Pretty sure he was making Waddy Wachtel faces!
Clip owner, your solo work was outstanding and tasteful, this brings me back to the days around 15 years ago the "drinking beer in the" garage band I was in used to jam on this. For the first time in several years I want to tune up, plug in and play again.
Too bad the shit economy made me put my LP custom black beauty and Marshall combo on ebay that long ago. Tone monster.
I've been searchin for this for years..... Tho its not the YESCA version, it still Funks Up the Soul.. Great Cover.
