Since I was in middle school, looking out the window and plotting the death of the schoolmates who teased me because I was fat, I have operated under the assumption that in order to get to that one good song, you must write at least 20 piles of steaming dog shit first. I've put out 9 records and am working on a 10th, which rounds out to about one record every 1.333333 years. It's nice to hear that there are writers who think at least somewhat similarly.
I'm really sorry to say, but I feel your calculations were wrong. You're way too talented and way too hard-working to have a relatively low number of subscribers and views on your videos.
You are one AWSOME REAL PERSON - we need more of those in this world - all the best DUDE ! thanks to ja - I just happened to come across you by accident , but glad I did ! gus @)---;'---'---
I don't want to sound like I'm not liking what you're doing, because I love the Song A Day thing. I subscribed to this channel because of it. I'm sure you've gotten this question before anyway; but... could you perhaps someday do a little something else with your Game Jew character? I haven't seen him in a while and I kind of miss the show. Anyway, looking forward to your next song. Keep doing your thing... I have your "Google Instant" song stuck in my head at this very moment. :D
How can I become more like you and less like me? You are a creative genius!
I am, on the other hand a lazy fatass who sits by the mac all days long with Adobe Master Collection CS5, iLife 09, an acoustic guitar, an electrical guitar and a microphone just in front of me and I never achieve anything...
I wish I had more creativity and inspiration... Whats the secret, what would you recommend for triggering some creative awesomeness?
a little bit arrogant ... i give a prity good iterview.... my songs are really good .... OMG !!! i would never say something about myself ... .... conceited!
Are you ever going to make these songs available to get on mp3, like on amiestreet? I love this song, stay for free, the steve jobs song, and the apple antenna song. I would buy them in a second!
You rocked that iPhone antenna song. WHY didn't you add that you had billionaire Steve Jobs acknowledge your song at a world wide watched press conference?
Holy crap dude, I didn't know you were ALL those things. I remember when you got the Wii, like I literally remember that. And I also remember that X Play musical. And I also remember those reviews on 1up. I just had no clue you were all the same person, especially now with the iPhone song. Lol wow.
I started listening to you because of the iPhone song and a couple days into it I thought "this reminds me of the songs from the X-Play musical." Now...it all makes much more sense. nicely done.
I just wanted to say I havent followed you for to long or watched all your videos with that being said the videos I have seen are awesome and you are one talented guy! In your VLOG you said your work was "complexe" but who says thats a bad thing? We all listen to the radio and stuff like that and its nice to get away from that and listen some simple, catchy, fun music. I hope you reach the goal your working for and keep up the good work!
I just subscribed. Not only are you talented, you're determined, patient, and perhaps a little brilliant, even. It's not everyday somebody gets discovered and featured by Steve Jobs... I think you're onto something, indeed. I wish you all the success in the world, and when it comes calling, may you remain the humble and delightful soul you are now. Sincerely, @_VonnieGirl / twitter
The only thing (possibly) wrong with the equation is that if you have a good idea but don't nurture it, then you bury it under the weight of having to proceed on to tomorrow's song. So it's not entirely a numbers game. It's like working in a cable tv company... everything is done too fast and it's compromise, compromise. yes, sometimes there's a hit... so good luck. I've already liked many of your tunes... lastly, my advice would be to continue not caring if you're a star, then you'll be one.
You don't seem down on yourself at all, lol. Yours seems like a fair assessment. You seem to have accomplished a lot & yours is a fair, concise recounting, without seeming either pompous or down on yourself.
I came here to comment that the tone & cadence of your voice-over is totally reminiscent of Levni Yilmaz's voice-overs on his videos (AgentXPQ). That guy always sounds pretty down on himself; maybe that has something to do w/ why you might think you sound that way.
I'm linking to this on my Facebook page in the hope that I can get some more of my friends to follow your wonderful work. I think the tone is just perfect for prompting people's curiosity about your work.
I like the tone of this video, you don't come across as being down on yourself, if anything just humble. One appeal of you and your songs is that they don't come across as being pretentious, which I think is something that stands in the way between many artists on youtube and their viewers. I don't see you writing 8 minute epic songs, just simple minute and a half pop songs, which can be many times more difficult to get right. You've put a lot of work in this and have made some real gems.
You should keep up the song a day because its inspiring for all of us almost 30 year olds that don't want to do in this world. Kind of like you took control of your own life, and started to do something you love, and that thing you do makes others happy. Thats really cool, keep up the great work.
you've got lots of fans and many supporters. i remember listening to the mario opera MP3s long before i saw you on screw attack. thanks for the great tunes throughout the years.
I've been with you since the early GameJew days, and I plan on seeing your work flourish more than it already has. I very much enjoyed the nights of GameJew Live and the semi-short-lived "assignments" for the site.
Keep the rock rolling until you get the cookie of accomplishment, even if you may feel at the bottom.
Hey - a general question because I'm looking for feedback on the video: does it seem in the video like I'm somehow really down on myself? That's not the tone I was going for. :-)
Sorta, I guess. At least until 1:30 it could be interpreted that way... Maybe it's the happy music that starts picking up in the background that possibly changes the tone.
@therockcookiebottom it does seem a bit down, but I don't know how you could be. With all that awesome stuff that happened?! sheesh! Oh and btw. I love that x-play musical!
Such a coherent and concise synposis of your track record. Im glad I had the honor of meeting you last week cause you truely a creative genius that deserves recognition.
awesome creativity...keep making the world better :)
