Since I was in middle school, looking out the window and plotting the death of the schoolmates who teased me because I was fat, I have operated under the assumption that in order to get to that one good song, you must write at least 20 piles of steaming dog shit first. I've put out 9 records and am working on a 10th, which rounds out to about one record every 1.333333 years. It's nice to hear that there are writers who think at least somewhat similarly.

The only thing (possibly) wrong with the equation is that if you have a good idea but don't nurture it, then you bury it under the weight of having to proceed on to tomorrow's song. So it's not entirely a numbers game. It's like working in a cable tv company... everything is done too fast and it's compromise, compromise. yes, sometimes there's a hit... so good luck.  I've already liked many of your tunes... lastly, my advice would be to continue not caring if you're a star, then you'll be one.

I came here to comment that the tone & cadence of your voice-over is totally reminiscent of Levni Yilmaz's voice-overs on his videos (AgentXPQ). That guy always sounds pretty down on himself; maybe that has something to do w/ why you might think you sound that way.

I like the tone of this video, you don't come across as being down on yourself, if anything just humble. One appeal of you and your songs is that they don't come across as being pretentious, which I think is something that stands in the way between many artists on youtube and their viewers. I don't see you writing 8 minute epic songs, just simple minute and a half pop songs, which can be many times more difficult to get right. You've put a lot of work in this and have made some real gems.
