G'day Lance, nice video, I couldn't help noticing as each comparison pattern was shown how fundamentally engrained in my subconscious brain the candles are. I tried to approach the bars in the same light but after 13 years of candles, it's just hard to get away from, the candles seem so much more 'alive' the spinning tops really spin for me, the hammer really smashes away and so on. I see triangles very clearly in bars, far more so than candles, perhaps some of your other viewers may agree.
Thanks for sharing your observation. I agree - I see changes of sentiment more clearly in the candles, but that's largely due to experience with that charting method. You'd find that some people with 13 years OHLC bar experience would see it better thru price bars. Part of my intent with sharing these price bar reversal patterns is that candlestick traders also benefit from some new patterns (which are equally applicable to their prefered charting method). Also, not shown, is the fact that most software can be set to show green up bars and red down bars which make them even easier to identify, great videos, thanks, John
