What does having the lights off do, exactly? Doesn't everyone play pretty much every game with the lights off? It's on a television, where the screen itself is lit. Turning the lights off does nothing to affect what's happening on the screen. Also, making it really loud would just make it more annoying. Does blasting the volume while watching "The View" make it scary?

@youbetterbelievehah It's scary because the game is dark and everything around you is dark... I don't know how it makes it scary, but it just does... Turning up the volume on it would make it scarier as well because a lot of the time in this game, it will be really quiet and a zombie jumps out of nowhere and it scares the piss out of you. I know this from experience lol

I'm feeling the silent hill parallels with the siren business among other things. I got the original ps2 version and alot of the same things happen I dunno. This looks better. Being the horror buff and restricted to 360 I look forward to watching it at the least and getting to play down pour, hopefully it is good!

@MegaLocoxx So what is wrong with that? It is a survival horror game. Its not like dead space and similar games that are really like action/shooters with some jump scares thrown in. Some people prefer horror games where you feel helpless and know the only way to survive is to run for your life.

Siren Blood Curse, Amnesia, Penumbra etc are the real survival horror games. Games like Dead Space are only scary because it makes you jump. These games actually scare you properly, even though there's not much 'make you jump' moments. These horror games make you panic, and rise the tension slowly.

This game isn't scary, it's annoying. This may be a survival horror, but it's not scary in the least. It's annoying because the controls are so unbelievably bad. That, combined with the camera, make for a terrible gaming experience. I started playing it, made it a few chapters in, took a break, and actually forgot all about the game. I just got reminded of it, and I was actually more tempted to leave this half-assed, negative review, than finish the game. Lol.

im starting to become a huge fan of siren.

games such as dead space 2, silent hill downpour, and fear 3 etc are not horror games at all. they are more like "thrill rides" (sit back and enjoy).

games like siren, fatal frame, amnesia etc IS horror! fucks your psyche and its still scary after you turn off the console (ill leave the original silent hills out of this one since they are wonderful classics now).

horror games today is dying in my opinion...only the few strongest ones survive.

This game is not scary as the original cuz you can KILL ANYTHING if you have weapon even a screwdriver. You also have more than enough ammo to beat a level. The only fun parts are when you play as Bella. The American version is censored cuz during the sacrifice your supposed to see the person getting stabbed also less blood and gore(that's a shame).
