After watching the videos of the "battery farms" (the big corporate mass-ones, right?) I cannot even touch chicken for food... even having some eggs, I cry. It's rare I eat any, only if I'm very very broke (and I plan to stop entirely--at the very-very least, support tiny good chicken-home farms.
Sigh--so happy to see this--bless you, little life-giving birds! We could never repay you for all you have given us... never... never-ever, but I want to try!
I am actully tring to find a place that trains chickens for therapy use. I have read articles about chickens being used as therapy for adults and kids. I just cant seem to locate a place in my area that does this. But, then again, I cant find the place that trains therapy or service animals anywhere. I have a wonderful hen who loves kids and attention. I really want to get her trained.
Good idea to make the prisoners work for their food. Bring in the cows, pigs, etc etc. That way the prison doesn't need OUR taxpayer's money to even feed them FOOD!
@PuffSmelly Actually they do have dog programs everywhere in America for prisons. They adopt a dog from the shelter, train it and get it ready for new homes or possibly get them ready to be a guide dog.
I LOVE this :) its a great idea for inmates. I saw a documentary once on inmates in America that had cats to take care of. Love the idea of animals in prisons. great video!
LOL it looks funny but the chicken most likely runs that way because it has injured legs. That's what happens when they are confined in tiny cages 24/7.
yah V this is what we really need to rehabilitate people. the more negative you get... but teach them to love and care and have a positive moral is great.
This is just awesome.

won't those eggs hatch? buy one cock and let them mate and multiply the chicken count XD
wintlatt 3 weeks ago
@wintlatt If they haven't been fertilised by a rooster/cock they won't hatch :)
Aussiegirl265 3 weeks ago
@Aussiegirl265 that's the reason i suggested to buy a rooster............ did u even read the full comment?
wintlatt 3 weeks ago
@wintlatt I did read your whole comment. You worded it wrongly. You asked if they would hatch and I replied no.
Aussiegirl265 3 weeks ago
That's so cool, and I'm sure the inmates appreciate the interaction!
