Nice clip, it kind of summs up the thrills and spills. We have a link to this that goes with our Scammonden club write up. We in ent 23 capsized in the gusts minutes before noon in the gale. It was an intersting last 2 hours. Can't wait until this years event. Wonder if there will be any more brave teams using one pair for the entire race again like the good old Hollingworth B lads sailing for charity last year.
Yup, number 12 was indeed the thwaites one. I'm from the same team as WBSirch up there (Hoylake SC), and this video really made my day :) Don't suppose you have any video of when the same two people capsized right at the end (50 yds from the line!) and nearly drifted inside the D mark? Definitely a wall of shame moment for them :P
LOVE YOU SOOOOOOOOO MUCH. I was supposed to be sailing on number 12 (from 2.45ish on the vid) and a novice went out instead and the consiquence was one of the most spectacular capsizes!!! Great video, rated 5 for that clip alone!
Thankyou. I kept a close eye on 12 (if that was the thwaites one!) I thought you guys were ace. Wheneve i was helming you and number 34 were my targent to catch, not that i ever got you!!
Yes the Thwaites one, We had a crash 8 minutes (9 to our flight) before the first start. So do you have any other vids of number 12? Mainly the capsize jmelling talks about. Which number were you in then?
CHASE WATER SC: just come bak from the 2009 24 hour race, well worth going again!
