  • "Stuffing is EVIL"

  • McGregor traded his eggplant garden for tomatoes after annoying too many of his neighbors...

  • lol pennis envy

  • Why don't you keep it, in case you rub up against your own personality.

  • @jflors85 not as hot though 

  • @jflors85 ... HEY ur soooo rite but tony is well u know HOT 

  • @VoidOnTuesday and fake do NOT 4 get fake ... or well FALSE and HOMOSEXUAL

  • Tomatoes are assholes. I worked on a family farm, and spent a few hours picking suckers off their tomato plants. The entire plant (save the fruit) is covered with a sticky yellow powder that coats your hands, clothes, and everything else it touches. The more you work with them it gets thicker, until it's black, and eventually becomes iridescent purple. It literally takes days to wash off.

If I had to grow and manage my own tomato plants to eat tomatoes. I would NOT eat them. It's not worth it.

  • @knoshy They're called gloves, brah.

  • Isn't that Mr. McGregor, who was dumping vast loads of eggplant at AB's doorstep just a handful of episodes ago? Why would AB steal tomatoes from a guy who'll probably deliver him a wheelbarrow full of them in a week?

  • we grown tomatoes during the summer along with green peppers and they are gooooooooooooddddddddddddddddd

  • In his carrot episode, he said carrots were the second favorite to potatoes.... HE'S A LIAR! 0___o

  • @SandyattheBeach1 He was probably speaking about vegetables exclusively. He therefore excluded tomatoes in that instance because they fruits, not vegetables.

  • I've grown my own tomatoes, it took a while to grow, but it was worth it.

  • wait...in another episode he called the grapefruit spoon a unitasker o.O

(i dont know the episode name, but it opened up with him putting kosher salt on chocolate cupcakes)

  • This is my favorite Good Eats episode, but the video quality here is awful

  • 4:04 alton looks like tony from NCIS

  • tsk tsk Alton. Stealing?

  • Alton to W: "Why don't you keep that bandage in case you rub up against your own personality..." That's hilarious!

  • ok if thats the same farmer guy from the eggplant episode why doesnt he give the tomatoes so willingly then the eggplant or am i asking a werid question that i shouldnt even considered eh who knows

  • well, he is planning on competing with them. maybe he doesnt have an abundance. besides, i'm with john denver: true love & home grown tomatoes.

i'd never give either away! :-D

  • @carmanshuey yes

  • Lmao. Nice rejoiner from Alton!

    :D

  • haha love the new look

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

IT IS A BERRY! I've been saying tht for years and everyone else continues the silly veg vs fruit debate.

  • ohhhh W u got burned by AB

  • I growing some maters too lol! I can't wait for tomato sandwiches with homemade bread and garlic mayo yummy.

  • do u think that mr brown is nice in person

  • He could have been just maintaining his TV personality, but when I met him at a book signing, he seemed very very nice and enthusiastic.

  • He was an extremely personable and excited individual when I met him, and all the interviews and such he has around support this.

Just seems like your all around cool guy.

  • My friends' father grew up with him, and she said he is a very nice guy. She said he was also very nerdy growing up (surprise surprise) but I think he's genuinely nice, it would be difficult to put up such a persona for so long.

  • mmmm tomatoes with salt =)

  • "the biggest berry to ever be called a fruit"? If I'm not mistaken, last season they did an episode on Eggplant... which Deb Duchon (the cultural anthropologist) remarks is a berry.

  • If i'm not mistaken he also said saffron is the most expensive food, when infact, truffles beat it out by a LONG shot.

  • Saffron is incredibly expensive due to the fact that it's the stamen of the Saffron Crocus flower. Each flower only produces three stamen, and the have to be harvested by hand. A pound of Saffron is roughly 200,000 of these threads, and can cost up to $5,000 per pound.

  • Oh.. I thought it didn't go beyond 1600. i haven't found any, atleast. white truffles = 2500 per pound or so.

  • What, no flame war? Two thumbs up to the both of you for actually discussing the subject matter of the video.

  • I agree. This is great behavior all around.

  • @FinestMelatonin3mg i disagree with you entirely, and suspect you are in fact a homosexual.

  • I was of the understanding saffron was one of the most expensive spices consumed (therefore 'food' it its catergory) versus truffles.

  • not if you think of it in the weight to price ratio

  • @insalias Certain types of truffle are more expensive, but the average truffle price, I think, is lower than the average saffron price.

  • "You might need it in case you rub up against your own personality!" - Oh snap! Good one, AB!

  • Ooooo Alton got W good on this episode.

  • W got burned.

  • nice bird call. wat year did he start season 6?

  • haha the agents are hilarious

  • omg. its neighbor mcgregor

  • Jersey Tomatoes are the best! =]

  • right you are

  • lol. The bird's call.

  • At last! Something to do with my tomatoes. :-)
