  • Holy shit! This version kicks the album's ass!

  • 1:53 scare o.O

    How interesting!

Today mysteriously dreamed of this scene and I was very curious to find these scores on youtube today ... and finally found them \ o /

How wonderful to be able to recall childhood!

  • You are my newest hero.

  • "dad, come on! you gotta get up! dad, we gotta go home"

  • buah!! sublime!!

  • Thumbs up if you cry hear 2:20 whan you look the movie

  • 1:55 gives me goosebumps

  • 1:55 Best...Film..Music..EVER

  • Mickey Mouse: Ah Gee, First Bambi's Mother, Now King Mufasa. It's Happening Again.

  • is it just me or can anyone else say the words as this music plays

  • @ExtremeKnexRides

Not only the words but the sound affects aswell

  • The tears just dont stop . im 21 and this song still hits me the most inside. makes me respect what my parents do for me even more . poor simba. RIP mufasa :(

  • @RachelAnnOwen yeah ;)

    me too,and I'm 21 years old too

  • This is another segment that is constantly toned down on soundtracks or wherever it is uploaded, so I am glad to here the whole thing with this video. The beginning is very sinister and then cuts to the whole chase that leads to Mufasa having to rescue Simba...and then to his tragic death where his treacherous brother murders him. :(

  • 2:21 I always loved the "danger"-theme

  • 1:55 makes me want to cry :(

  • You guys, seeing all these comments about the movie in 3D.. Didn't anyone ask you if they were in the right hall, just because they saw a group of 15/16 year old in there? xD Cuz they asked us o.o

  • thumbs up if anyone hates scar cause I do

  • i can't listen to this. it makes me feel all the horror i felt when watching the movie.

  • wow at the movement at 1:10. sounds beautiful.

  • attention people..we have 5 noobs...now we create a stamped on them

  • Man, I'm closing my eyes through the whole video, and I saw the scene. :) TLK music is epic.

  • Hans Zimmer. One of his finest masterpieces. :)

  • R.I.P Mufasa. :'( I saw it 3D it is unbelievable!!!!!! :D It's worth relieving memories (even though I saw the movie again 1 week prior, but who cares?!). :D

  • anyone else think this part was totally insane in 3D? O.o

  • @DFPUR oh shut up, you making be jealous

  • "Long live the king!"

  • This movie still gives me chills. It has so much power and emotion in every scene, it still brings tears to my eyes when Mufasa dies. This was amazing to see in 3D, and I very strongly suggest that anyone who hasn't gone to see it, go see it when you get the chance.

  • thumbs up if you see Scar and Mufasa's eyes moving left to right at 1:37

  • Will I like the surprise?

    Simba, it's to DIE for....

  • 2:43 Mufasa- Scar! Ung.. Brother! Help Me!! *feet struggle* *Scar looks emotionless* 2:54 *Scar grabs Mufasas Paws* Mufasa- *roar* 2:58 Scar- Long Live The King 3:02 *releases paws* 3:05 Mufasa- Ahhhhhh! Simba- Nooooooo!
  • well. the percussion section had fun with this.. lol

  • 0:20

    RUN SIMBA, RUN RUN RUN.

  • Excelent... Suspense, a lot of feelings in this song

  • I love the choral melody which starts from 1:55 .

Of course the whole piece sends me huge shivers, but this moment is just a genius' vocal work. Zimmer know how to make music epic, he uses many progressions, modulations and is a master of orchestral harmony.

  • 3:05 AHHHHHHHHHH

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • Am i the only one who felt Scar's dark glare at 2:03? oAo'

  • @ThebSayraduka I did

  • "Hey, Uncle Scar! Will I like the surprise?"

    "...Simba, it's to *die* for."

  • @TheWritersRuin, Stephen Sondheim/Schwartz? :D

  • This would be a nice Endboss Theme for LoZ or something.

  • I know this is just a film/animation but i get so fuckin emotional over this its unreal, i cry my eyes out like a bitch, i get goosebumps i get angry at scar lol i feel like im part of this film. and i genuinely feel heart broken for simba what the hell happened to disney??

  • Run Simba RUN!!!!!!!!! man 1:47 to 2:11 gives me goosebumps everytime i listen to this!

  • Run Simba RUN!!!!!!!!!

  • Zimmer is the modern Mozart. He has made LK into a never aging masterpiece to be remembered by future generations for all time... :)

  • when i was growing i completely let the lion king slip away from my mind except for the begining of zimmers "This Land" and 1:55 to 2:08 of this song. one day i was looking through old movies and i found the lion king i wathced it and i herd the music and was like so thats where those two songs were from. what im trying to say is that no matter how many times you forget the source of music it will always have a lasting impact. ps i hate myself for forgetting this movie

  • @TheWritersRuin I can't believe you forgot to include Jerry Goldsmith in that list, lol.

Most intense music I remember from the Lion King here, btw.

  • I remember listening to the sdtrk. as a kid on cassette tape (this was one of the songs I listened to most often! Still a Zimmer fan after all these years).

  • Thumbs up if you can see Simba's horrified face as soon as you hear 0:17!

  • @mkc92ingc I can even detect a little gasp as well =O

  • @ScorpioCarly me too

  • @mkc92ingc don't u mean paws up

    Get it!

  • @JimmySteller At least parents are taking kids to see real Disney. We never see anything like this in new Disney.

  • I LOVE this part :D <3

  • for some weird and sad reason this song makes me think of people running from a tsunami :-/

  • @cieron88 O-O

  • This song gives me goosebumps... Every time... :D

  • I like this version so much more than the one on the soundtrack. Disney REALLY needs to release this soon!

  • 1:55 - 2:20

thats beethoven level stuff right there

  • It such a dissapointment that this is in mono D: I think you should update it with better sound quality!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!

la mejor banda sonora, se la rifa Hanz Zimmer !!!

  • Goosebumps.

  • 0:16 - i ALWAYS get goosebumps. and i mean, always. like, i listened to this on the bus and went like "O_O"

  • the ending is so powerful...my eyes started watering

  • "Long live the king."

  • Where did you got this song?

  • @TheWritersRuin Alan Menken (Hunchback of Notre Dame and Beauty and the Beast) deserves a mention too =)

  • 0:42 reminds me of POTC. Didn't Mr. Zimmer also do work for POTC? The melody is almost the same for those few seconds. I love composers :)

  • @bestyculas He worked on the second and third part, the first soundtrack is from Klaus Badelt

  • @TheWritersRuin The only one I havent heard of is Aleandre Desplat, otherwise I %100 agree with you on the rest

  • 0:15 Oh snap!

  • some of Hans Zimmers best work.

    Mufasa is the best.

  • It sounds like all hell broke loose. But aside from a general idea, you can really feel the tension and emotion that this artistic piece of creation is expressing, how Simba feels, so much sympathy for Mufusa, and how much of an a** Scar is.

  • People call me Mufasa on Xbox live because my gamertag is Mafuni... Apparently people can't read but it is ok. Whenever they call me Mufasa I say in a deep voice, "Remember!"

  • " Long live the king... " BAM!

  • I CANT LISTEN TO THIS ONE! IT HURTS!!!!

  • This song just conveys such emotion its unbelievable!!! Truly one of the best and underrated songs in the movie!

  • This music suddenly makes me angry with Scar again!

  • I just love the part at 1:55

    It's just pure emotion <3<3<3

  • Scar!...Brother! Help Me!!

  • When I was little I had the soundtrack and listened the HECK OUT OF IT. Now I wonder where it friggen went because I honestly feel the need to rock out to the Lion King music all day every day.

  • i always hope that mufasa doesnt die and everything is different, sadly my wishes go unfull filled just like the titanic :(

  • "Will I like the surprise?"

  • I never like it too and I STILL don't like that part!

  • 2:58 Scar: Long live the king!

    3:05 Simba: NOOOOOOO!!

Always hated this part of the movie as kid. X<

  • I can't stop listening to Lion King music! It truly is a masterpiece!!

  • Hans Zimmer did such a good job with this soundtrack, and Inception. but this is better, Inception is so very repetetive. but time is an instant classic :D

  • Long live the King

  • Even without watching the movie, I can imagine this whole scene in my head.. especially when Mufasa dies :'(

  • verulence my msn in profile! ... To Die For (Uncut) - Lion King Complete Score

  • What does OST stand for? Yeah, I know, I'm stupid... T^T

    Great music!

  • @LineRocketPocket Official Sound Track.

  • @LineRocketPocket OST = Original Soundtrack

  • Jesus...I can totally imagine a man sitting in an dark, empty room starring at a gun on the table.... and then at 2:21 exactly he reaches for it.... 2:28 and then his hand starts shaking as he brings it up tp his head....2:40 he holds it to his temple, index figer on the trigger .... 2:46 a sudden calm overtakes him and the trembling stops as he steels himself...

O___O SHIT! This score is amazing it just evokes so so so so much different emotions at one time

  • The music is so powerful, I wanna say "SIMBA RUN!! GO MAN GO...DAMMIT, BOY, RUN FOR YOU LIFE!!!!!"

  • EPIC it should be a race or battle music theme for some game bc of how AWSOME this sounds

  • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • does anyone know where I can download this?

  • any one else hear the reallyyyyy short little pirates of the caribbean theme starting at :43 or so? maybe played by a trombone of french horn? oh hans zimmer, you clever dog <33

  • @writersblock17

You should listen to "The Battle" from the Gladiator soundtrack, starting almost 6 minutes into it. The resemblance is so strong, I am amazed there weren't any legal issues!

Just keep in mind that Pirates of the Caribbean was created AFTER the Lion King and Gladiator. So you can't really say it's the PotC theme being snuck into these soundtracks-- because it's actually the other way around...

  • @FantasyMusicFan also remember that every score that you mentioned was done by Hans Zimmer. Almost any score he creates resembles one another. and points in this i can hear Crimson Tide. If you compare Pearl Harbor to Pirates of the Caribbean, its almost a spot on match at the beginning

  • @FantasyMusicFan why would there be any "legal issues" ...Gladiator, Pirates, Lion King - they're all done by Zimmer haha

  • @jck1794 I know-- what I mean is, if I were a movie director, I would be pissed if I had paid for a composer to make a unique soundtrack for my movie, only to discover that they used the exact same theme in someone else's movie later on. Soundtracks are more important than people realize; composers have to be careful to respect each movie by keeping their musical themes separate.

I love Zimmer's music, don't get me wrong-- but if I were making a movie, I would never hire him to do the score.

  • @FantasyMusicFan you wouldn't? man, he'd be my first choice :P then probably either James Newton Howard or James Horner...out of curiosity though, who would be your go-to man?

  • @jck1794

James Newton Howard is my absolute favorite, and would be my first choice if I ever made a movie. I love the softness of his music, and he is flexible to match the style of each movie he writes for.

I'd also pick Alan Menken, Thomas Newman, Steve Jablonsky, or maybe Edward Shearmur. There are so many great composers out there!

As much as I love the music of Hans Zimmer, James Horner, John Williams, and Danny Elfman, their music gets repetitive after a while. Just my opinion :)

  • @FantasyMusicFan yeah I can see where you're coming from. Zimmer does have a lotta similarities in his work, but I like that. Williams is incredible, but he's too....generic..or old-school might be a better term. I share your love for Howard (King Kong, I Am Legend, Avatar: The Last Airbender, etc are amazing) but he still comes second to Hans for me :)

  • @FantasyMusicFan true they do get repetive but still feel diferent !!!! not many composers do that only the well talented

  • @writersblock17 ahahha yes i noticed the same thing........this was a spoiler to his masterpiece

  • Listening to this full volume is SO worth blowing my hearing over!!!!!

  • "Long live the king..."

    "AAAAHHHHHH!!!"

    "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

  • Best Soundtrack Evâh!!

  • This music sounds epic when you have headphones on. :D

  • james horner and hans all the way! lion king and avatar scores!

  • Rest in peace Mufasa! TT.TT

  • 1:56 until 2:40

    EPICNESS.

  • Song's good, but after 3:32 it just sucks. :/

  • 2:56 "Long live the King" best. evil. line. evar!!!

  • @hahaproductions made my flesh literally crawl.

  • Seriously the most intense Disney track EVER.

  • "Little roar. PUH."

*chameleon crawls out in front of Simba*

    "Rrawr! RrrrrrrAWR!"

    *Simba pounces behind chameleon*

    "RAAAWWWWGGHRRR!!"

    *roar echoes*

    CUE 0:00.

  • takes your breath away...litteraly!

  • lol, I just saw this entire scene in my head.

    I wish they would make a TLK 4... :(

  • hans zimmer's best score!

  • @iamcaboose1 Oh i'll agree to that!!Masterpiece!!

  • @iamcaboose1 "am i not merciful" from gladiator is even more dramatic and passionate than this. although a lot of that is lifted from wagners 'gotterdammerung'

  • This scene is one of the best every created.

    1. Death of Mufasa

    2. Death of Dumbledore (Half-Blood Prince)

    3. Obi-Wan vs Anakin/ Yoda vs Sidious (Star Wars III)

  • @JARHuygebaert i agree with you 100 percent there it does fit thos scenes from thoise movies. even i think so.

  • @JARHuygebaert 4.Fonzie jumps the shark

  • this brings me so many emotions. i can really see the movie before my eyes

  • this is a great piece of music...........

  • 1:57 is the best part

  • 2:59 "Long live the king...."

  • Hans Zimmer did a great job, thnx for uploading.

  • @thephantasm94 I know. I absolutely love Hans Zimmer's work. He did an absolutely amazing job on every piece he has composed.

  • This music wants to kill me with emotional power...

  • this is so epic

  • GUH. Want... SCORE ALBUM...

  • mufasa death...;(;(...

  • 1:57-2:08 Does anyone know what is the stuff quoted here?

  • what part of the film is this played over?

  • @geartop988 Stampede

  • @geartop988 The stampede

  • @msmissjordan1 Well, I don't think Snape would say that:D

  • @JARHuygebaert rather, wouldn't he say 'Long live the dark lord'?

  • @BanJoKazoowi - Indeed :) however, it would be strange thinking of snape and dumbledore as lions:D

  • @BanJoKazoowi Nah. He'd say "Long Live Lily Evans"

  • when i hear this, I can actually see the whole scene playing in my mind, right in tune with how it matched the music in the movie

  • @zikten yeah! i can literally hear the dialogue aswell!!

  • One of the best pieces of movie music score ever. It tells a story in itself. My favourite part is 2:32. You can practically hear Mufasa's desperation!

  • memories

  • This is the most amazing dead-scene of all time, even better then the one in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" (Dumbledore)

  • @JARHuygebaert i can hear harry screaming "Noooooo!" before that snape saying "Long live the great albus dumbledore. avada kedavra!" wat do you think?

  • this always makes me cry because i know what always happens to Mufasa on that day poor simba ;(

  • this gives me goosebumps o.o

  • i cant exactly say i lost my dad.....he left cuz he didnt care.....oh well :) ive got a loving family!

  • epic

  • I'm composing for a video game now! I'd love to compose for a film in the near future!

  • This track is epic. I feel slight tears at 2:00 until 2:40.

Is weird though, those 40 seconds are more treat-jerking than Mufasa's death to me. I don't mean to sound like a prick, It's just how it is.
