  • how does the turbo work

  • what happen if u hook up an electric power drill to the transmission xD

  • Fucking sweet!!!!!

  • boaring but kinda cool

  • this is probably the coolest thing I have ever seen and want to build!

  • Can you help because I want to get some motors on bricklink and I want the black motor that goes to the engine and the black and yellow control base twisty thing can you tell me if there is anything else I need?

  • Awesome! Any tips for recreating diesel engine and turbocharger noise in smaller MOCs? And by smaller I mean something like the size of the 8258 Crane Truck.

  • @PhantomStrain I dont know if the 8258 has a technic engine or not, but it should be able to fit a motor and gear box in there. The transmission and motor is what makes my engine sound like it has a turbo.

  • @legomaniacman Oh I see, so the tube is just for show. I was just wondering what specifically it is that's creating that high-pitch turbo sound at high RPM. I guess I'll have to build your engine myself and try to figure it out. Do you have any pictures posted of it on Brickshelf or something similar that I can use for a more detailed reference than this video? Thanks and keep up the great work.

  • @PhantomStrain The motor and the gears whining. Nah only here right now. Thanks

  • can i get some instructions to the gearbox or sumthing please thx

  • Legomaniacman, where did u get the motor and train regulator

  • @legobuildable A site called Bricklink, I just got deliverd the exact things you want from that site but waiting for a cable :).

  • Where did u get the train regulator and motor at?

  • How in the world did you build this? Does the turbo really spin?

  • @bigdaddymatty17 With LEGO :P and no the turbo is just a tube wrapped around an axle

  • Did you get that in a kit or did you build that your self? If so what kit is that?

  • Very well constructed :) Just add a clutch and it'll be complete :)

  • im not suggesting you build a clutch but does it kick back much in down shifting? how long do the gears last? thankyou! john

  • but at least there should be joint meeting :D

  • What you should do now is take the output shaft and gear it up so it splits into about 2 or 3 different outputs. then connect them to 3 lego motors. When your output shaft spins it will spin your 3 motors and if you connect a cable to each of them they will generate you electricity. Connect that electricity (prob about 15 volts or so) up to your original motor and controller and you'll have a self sufficient carbon neutral engine that in theory would run forever

  • do you add a little vegetable oil or something for the friction?

  • have you tried power shifting with it?

  • where did you put the diesel gas?

  • it turns really fast!! i want one :(

  • sweet how can you make it

  • how do i find the accelerator and motor u are using i want one to power my v8 motor

  • hey man great video where do i find the thing u are using to accelerate the motor and what is it called great job keep on building] :)

  • Great! How did you built it? You knew this by yourself or dit u used an expalation?

  • I wish I was this creative with my Lego creations.

  • dude where do you get one of these at?

  • nice engine

  • a cummins fuck yeah!

  • hey where do you get lego engines like that and how much ?

  • !!your missing the shift

  • you should build a lego air plane with that.

  • epic! i cant even build stuff like this :(

  • This is bad ass. If they sold these as kits I'd buy one.

  • This engine is awesome!!!!

  • thats insane, is it completely made from scratch or is their some sort of kit that you got?

  • Comment removed

  • Use paper touching the motor's blades ! Could make a real cool sound :D

    Really great video btw !

  • Seriously stop saying to build a damn clutch. The engine is over 2 years old, i'll make one with a clutch one day.

    BTW im making a new stop/motion movie. : )

  • @legomaniacman You should build a clutch!

  • build a clutch

  • nice !

But you should also use a clutch, i've seen some great ideas on youtube to build one

  • i wanna by one of you

  • does it seriously run on diesel?

  • Can you give us blue prints!?

  • I like the sound when you show us the tranny

  • I like the sound it makes

  • guess its a 6bt

  • 1:40 = Boom

  • You need a clutch.

  • Hey man, where did u get that motor to power all that? and how much was it?

  • You should use a nxt to make the transmission automatic. Great video!

  • @username228442 I could, but a RPM sensor would make it work better. I can make a manual that just needs a push of a button. I might just make that

  • Hey sorry to bother you, But where did you buy that?

  • and can you build it with technic or mindstorms?

  • how do you get that switch? at the beginning at the video?

  • this is cool

  • you make some cool stuff do your mom and dad buy you the parts?

  • whats the thing you turn to control the speed?

  • xD that is nice

  • so you cut the engine to clutch

  • TRULY THIS IS THE FUTURE!!!!

No seriously, if you crash your car, just pick up the pieces.

    But this is fucken awesome.

  • what's the font called at 0:00?

  • @bpmagruder Eurostile one of my favorite fonts lol

  • wheres the clutch?

  • u gotta make directions!!!!!

  • please tutorial on how to make a transmission xD

  • what do u call the black board with the speed control?

    where can u buy one?

  • The cylinders are burnt!!!

    awesome man awesome

  • i love the sound of changing gears down.was it a kit??? if it was what is the price

  • now try building one that runs on diesel!

  • woulda been even awesomer if it was penumatic but awesome!

  • does the cylinder going hot after a high speed ?

very very very good built :)

  • all you need now is a clutch and a turbo!

  • 1:42 HOLY FRICKNESS!!!! U CANT SEE THE FRICKIN PISTONS MOVING

  • I'm building a lego 2 speed transmition how would i connect the gearbox to the engine?

  • o my god i want 1

  • good job

  • aww dude that is sweet. how long does it take you to make something like that anyways?

  • @junkey55 about a couple of weeks :)

  • The next thing to do, is design a working clutch and give the tranny a neutral and reverse

  • omg that trani sounds so realistic..but noisey :O

  • you should show the rpm of the wheels

  • WOW where you get that

  • all you need now is a neutral gear and reverse to make it act like its real deal, also if you could maybe put in 3 more drive gears

  • try it with my 5spd gear box and 3spd aux

  • maybe some oil to avoid melting :D very impressive stuff

  • @citydriver they don't melt very easily.

  • I can hear the turbo haha

  • fckin awesome dude, good idea at the gearbox

  • to legomaniaman: COOL i'm looking forwed to see to see them because of other progects i'm not shure when i'll have them up i'm also in high school so i'm very busy but i did suc sesfuly make my own three speed to i would have made a for speed but i can't find a gear combo to do it. i'm guseing that's the reason you idi'n eather plus i cant find a lego stright six as i gussing you know diesels usaly are stright six's. plese let me know of any new progects. i'm also a team member of a robotics.

  • Im working on a new mini engine. A V-8 with a 4 speed transmission using transmission rings

  • im confused as to where your fuel goes? also is it electric start?

  • this is just awesome!

    perfect work man... perfect!

    5/5

  • I also have the lego train set witch is also fun

  • cool i've tryed to make a trany because I used to run a lego "mind storm" club so now I have three "mind storm" kits

and Three R.C.X's I also came up with a clutch design but I dont have lego engine blocks. I also make lego cars with differentials and the motors in the frount and univrsial jonts they also came in 4x4 and other variations. I hope to have vidoes soon

  • @yoyojoe0072 cool, Im beginning to work on a realistic clutch I have some videos of some RC trucks I made

  • is it a cummins. lol. nice video, cool trans.

  • ho man that is mowsom dude im gonna have to give a 10/10 4 that real timeing and and real shifting valves ho and ill have to add the bonus a gear box ho dude that is sick isted of a 10/10 im gonna give u a 10000000000000/10

holy crap dude that is so awsommmm ho man ot is awsom but im only gonna give u them marks if u bought it or made it so if u maid it nice work 100000000000/10

but if you bought it 0/10

    and a killing

    ok so your choise but if you built it exelent job :) :D :) :D :) :D :D :)

  • did u buy it or make it

  • lol i want one so bad :-) lol have u eva thought of making like a model of somesort, for instance a truck or a 4x4 car becouse that would kick ass in the dino, oh theres an idear u should make a dino and get a horsepower guage and see how meany horses are in that beast. my guess is about 100hp, and that is good for a lego engine

  • I love how you can hear the straight cut gear backlash just like on a full size straight cut 'box!

    Excellent job, well done!

  • i bet it would hurt to poke it at full speed

  • u only have 1 hand?

  • the other hand was holdin' the camera. ;)

  • lol he's holding the camera with the other stupid....

  • i made a very small version 2 cylender w/ 2speed trans

  • u should line it up so the pistons and whatever makes the most noise goes before the transmission, so like motor>pistons>transmission>flywheel and propeller.

Then it would be like a real car where u rev it up and shift and rev it up and shift and it would sound like a dirtbike or a car shifting into a higher gear. u would need a big flywheel tho, but that should work ^^^^ that thing sounds soo badass

  • nice

  • this is so awsome were did u get it?

  • yeah next you have to figure out how to actually get compressed air into the pistons and cylinders so it actually runs like a real motor, that would be awsome. and you better turn that gearbox into a cealed case and put some oil in it otherwise those plastic parts wont last very long

  • can somebody tell me where u can get those lego engine kits?

  • Now thats cool.

This is wat ppl should b putting in their lego cars instead of the little 9v ones.

  • @BloodNinja7 all my large lego car projects i try to put a piston engine in it

  • im watchin it again and im stunned how much power that motor has is it a battery?

  • its LEGO fastest and strongest motor used in RC cars, Its powered by the speed regulator, the big black box

  • shit thats crazy. im diesel mecanic and its very realistic! that the craziest lego thing i've seen

  • awesome

  • What are you using as a turbo?? And how did you connect it to power the engine??

  • are those gears synchro'd? if not, maybe you can start replicating double-clutch techniques.

  • can u give the project? very cool! 5/5

  • can't find em, grind em..

    TURBO THAT BITCH.

    that's pretty awsome

  • mmm soo much load on those gears break any teeth??

  • never have... yet

  • coolest lego engine ever! i love the transmisson! it sounds soo cool! good job! was this a kit?

  • all made from spare lego parts

  • soo cool!

  • Thank you man for building this, next time i will build this gearbox and use it in my Lego RC car for gear shifting,to make it drive better ;)

  • How did you set up your gears in the transmission?

  • yupp :)

  • Whered you get that panel at: 0:29 ?

  • sounds likes my dads 1947 cevrolet style master

  • I would of loved this fuckin' toy as a kid.

  • At 1:35 it sounds like jet engine! Nice vid!

  • real skills there man, great job, but as a challenge you should make a type of clutch system and mount this engine in a vehicle via a rear differential.

  • i actually am, trying to make a peterbilt rock crawler, with the same engine and transmission, still in the design process

  • amazing. low geared 4x4?

  • I dont have the pieces to make it 4 wheel drive

  • dude make it less weigth and make and airplane;) jajajaja that would be awesome

  • damn you grinded the gears. lol. great job bro.

  • wher can i get the engine (1:26 )??

thnaks for the vid 5 stars!!!!

  • nice!

  • now make a rear differential and make a vehicle out of it

  • my car has a 3 speed transmission..

  • the fastest gear should be the smallest cuz it will go wwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy faster

  • how do you make it?any special parts?im using a small motor with 2 cables connected to a d battery.but i cant stick the lego gear with the motor.Any tips?Thxs!

  • and what is that black string attached to the pieces?does it make it move?where can i get one?thx!

  • that is the wire for the motor

  • where do you get it?whats it called?

  • you have to make it yourself

  • im trying to build an engine like this.what is that yellow thing you spin and where can i get it.would a motor work to power my engine if i connected cables to a battery?thx!

  • yes if you could please.

  • I'm trying to biuld something like this righ now, so if it is possible could you send me some directions on this please. It would be gretly appriciated.

  • the transmission?

  • Your tranny sounds a bit rough, you might wanna get tht looked at. :P

  • haha yeah heavy shifting with no clutch and plastic gears...not good

  • nice turbo sound you got???? so does it have 535 Ep??? and 69 g. ft. torqu€??? lmao (ep ELECTRIC POWER

  • put sand in the pistons lol and see how long it lasts i have always wanted to see a lego engine burn there pistons

  • hell no lol

  • its sounds like half life 2 episode two

  • that engine is like a cummins!

  • exactly how i modeled it after

  • where did you get that thing what spins the engine . Sorry my english is a bit sucks :D

  • i built it from legos and the electric motor spins the engine

  • it is from lego technic power functions

  • nice turbo!! why you do that turbo sound???

  • the motor and gears make a high pitch sound so i added a turbo

  • dude thats awesome! sounds just like the real thing. anyways check out my 4 stroke engine.

  • wow! im trying to make a lego two cycle engine

  • might loose a lil compression with the heads off like that:P lol thats awsome tho, should get your hands on a photo tach and see what kinda rpms your getting

  • impressive, try an airplane engine

  • I have, check my newest video

  • where can i buy that ?? that looks interesting... nice video bro !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Any idea how many RPMs it pulls though the gears?

  • well over 4000, the lego rpm gauge cant read over 4000

  • it sounds like you added sound effects at 2:03 that is so cool
