My neighbor and I take his 2006 Cummins 2500 turbo diesel to the drags to run low 13s at over 100 mph from time to time. I don't think there's a type of car i'm not into or haven't worked on. The 2 things I hate are V6 Mustangs and V6 Camaros. They're a disgrace and the V8 versions can be had for so little money

It depends on what version corvette your talking about.

an 02 Z28 generally can cost roughly 12k and a Corvette 84-96 can also run 12k or so. Do the same mods to a C4 vette as you would with a V8 fbody and that vette will walk away from that V8 fbody.

That it's a joke to buy a V6 version. Don't use the gas mileage excuse either. All my friends LS1 and LT1 cars have always achieved 20mpg in town. I paid $800 for my Mustang and maybe $2000 fixing it up. There's a '97 LT1 auto Z28 convertible on craigslist right now for $2250 in good condition. Buy one of those. In order for a V6 Maro to hang with a '93 5.0 5 speed in good condition it would need 4.10 gears, LT's, full exhaust, race tune, CAI, UD pulleys, MSD, and a shift kit, AT LEAST.

A fiero could hold its own against a 5.sl0w as well as pretty much almost anything on the road stock to stock. No way in fucking hell a 5.sl0w is gonna walk a C4 vette unless the driver in the vette is an idiot. My 5.0 couldn't outrun my V6 Camaro by a longshot let alone a C4.

My 5.slow hangs with my friend's modded 6 speed LS1 Trans Am till 70 mph, and I've beaten 05+ Mustang GTs even past 100mph, and countless G35s etc. C4 Vette only runs 14.5 @ 95 on a GOOD run dude even here on youtube. Stock '87-'93 5.0 5 speed does that.

You could probably change the gearing and tires and get a good driver to run them pretty well though.

The weekest Mustang in that year range had 25hp more than the Camaro and weighed a few hundred pounds less. Lots of people think Mustangs are slow because lots of Mustangs are worn out, beaten down, out of tune, have slow auto transmissions, and shitty drivers. My '82 5.0 (rated at 175 hp) with a wide ratio 3 speed overdrive manual trans ran 15.29 at 90.89 bone stock my first time at the drags, and that was spinning all the way through the 60 foot with shitty 2.38 60 foot times.

Find a late '80s 5.0 fox body 5 speed bone stock in good condition with a good tune with someone who knows how to drive (will probably have to be older than 25, I seem to be the only person under 25 years of age who can launch quickly and shift in less than 10 fucking seconds) and you will get walked all over. I usually even beat 4.6s in my lightly modded 5.0 because of lack of driver skill in the 4.6.
