As always great review. I'm looking for a bag for edc/short day hikes and I'm currently using a Jumbo style bag. Problem is it's too small. So I'm looking very closely at the Maxpedition Mongo, Sitka, or Falcon 2. I prefer a backpack but I like having a water bottle holder on the outside and I carry a secondary firearm or BUG in the concealed Compartment. Out of these three which one would I be better of with?
Just a little tip, allways keep your spray on your belt for faster/easier access, and if you put your bag down and forget its still on their Mr bear woint wait for you to get it. Also nice bag and review.
My maxpedition gear is coming in the mail soon! I got a falcon II, fr-1, 12x5 bottle holder, mini rollypoly, CP-L gps holder and tear away map case. I really like your videos... They helped me with my decision on what to get! Thumbs up
I would have molle'd the first aid pouch to the side, but that's just me. Give more space in the pack itself, but on the down side it increases the change of the pack getting stuck on something.
@cjc5531 Your welcome. I have a water bottle holder and my first aid pouch attached via molle on the outside of my everyday carry. Ill do a presentation once I obtain a tripod.
Where did you get your emergency shelter / poncho?
I use a thin but durable tarp, I don't like stringing a rope in between two trees to set it up. I think A smaller poncho/shelter would be much more practical.
Pretty nice pack. I was thinking of getting this eventually. Im a college student, but I also like Going outdoors and what not. I think this will do fine if i was to buy it.
cjc5531... I know this question was asked before, in reference to the CCW holster, but, where in the pack are you able to place one? I'm thinking where the hydration bladder goes. If that's the case, won't it rub against your back? Just wondering. Excellent video by the way.
purplehbarnet ....They no longer carry this map and compass pouch. You can look at maxpedition web site they might have something close to what you would like...
Great review as are all of your Maxpedition reviews. Could you maybe look at doing some side by side comparisons with pros and cons between some of your Maxpedition items. e.g Falcon II v's Condor II etc . Thanks
G'day, great vid. Got a Falcon II on the way. Want to get a Camelbak reservior for it. I know it fits up to a 100oz, but was wondering if you knew the dimensions of the hydration sleeve. I'm think the low profile camelbak model, but just need to know the size of the sleeve
Barfoot73 ....The bladder I have in mine is 16" in long by 6" in width at the opening which does taper down to 5" good luck and thanks for watching...
Hey. I'm looking for a school backpack. I've used some "super heavy duty" camping packs and such, but within a school year they all break. Do you think this thing could withstand roughly 40 lbs of books and gear every day?
Foliage Khaki is a GREAT color. I just bought a Jumbo in that combination. You can't go wrong. It looks classy, manly and handsome all at once. As it gets older I am sure it will only look better
tony2timekilla I could try at some point but I have about six VID's that I want to do in front of that...I will if time permits...Thanks for the request...
@ColinOutdoors Did you ever get one? What a coincidence, for the last few days I've been considering either the Falcon, or the Condor for a day pack. The falcon seems much roomier then the tiny room the spec claims it to be (25 liter). My current daypack is 30L and it seems smaller then the Falcon even.
@Varghjarta I haven't got one yet, I would like to own one soon but need to free up some cash first. I hope whichever one you choose to buy that you really like it, All the best
im thinking about buying one or the maxpedition mpb ( the normal one). Need a new rangebag. the mpb is perfect for that. On the other hand I could use the falcon for more options. thanks for the review
Great review (as always)! As far as I can tell from this video you use a Camelbak hydration system with the Thermal Control Kit. How does this extra kit perform in the summer? Is it worth the money? Thanks!
I am going to buy one but I really dont want to look like a commando on a trail. Nice to see the improvements over the original one I had a while back.
XCritonX I had about 22lbs including the water and I would not want much more weight at all. I used this all day and did fine with the pack. Thanks for watching...
Nice video. What kind of monocular do you have? I've seen you pack then in the various bags you review. What kind is it? What size and magnification is it? Thanks - and thanks so much for the video!
admatt ..Good to hear from England...I got both and the Falcon II is the one I like the best. Of course you'll have to make that choice...Take care and good luck.
If I'm going on a day hike or over night this is what works for me....I agree it would make a great BOB...I don't mind the price as long as I get what I want in a pack....I haven't been disappointed with it...Thanks for watching...
I have a Hennessy hammock that I use instead of a tent that fits on the bottom and a small sleeping bags that compresses down small enough to fit in the bag. I could easily do this, I guess it depends on how someone would pack it out...Thanks...
It would make for a pretty good one-two day summer pack, but definitely not for winter. As for the hennessy hammocks - how are they working out for you in the colder days? Say 0 celsius in the night?
Good review. I use this bag as my backpack for school and it is a great bag and has lots of room, my only problem is that it is not wide enough for me.
Howdy CJ, another great video and review. I use my Falcon II as a work bag and it works well. I really like how you organize your gear and have used several of your ideas. Keep up the good vids. Thanks, Doug

How much weight can you reasonable carry in a comfortable fashion with a Falcon II? Including the 3k in water (the 100 oz bladder).
I wish that they made an external frame pack with about 2x the capacity of the Falcon and the same basic design elements and quality.

Yes, I don't see any reason why you couldn't. Are you just wearing the web belt for accessories?

The web belt would hold a large utility/buttpack and 2 canteen pouches.
It would, what some people would consider to be, part of a Bug Out System. The belt would be held up using suspenders.
