I've only heard this by Curtis Mayfield (which I love) until now. The Persuasions however, did a awesome job. I would never have thought that this song could be done acapella, and still come together so well. Glad I stumbled across this! For those of you, who have not heard the original....you gotta check it out.

Just found this version- Introduced to Curtis Mayfiend etc while in small college in Iowa Central College and a bunch of guys in the dorm singing like this- yesback in 1966... NYC 'S Lary Cohen, Winston snake Ship, Chicago area Ozziobinsn and Shaun Miller called themselves the :Innovatios.. sang when the bands tooka break--- fun times TS

You can find the original 1963 recording by Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions. The title just says "Gypsy Woman". The poster left the artist off. It has a black&white picture with 3 guys . Curtis wrote the song.
