  • You're probably done with this now, but...

    "Dedicated users"?

  • that was a really good cookie monster impersonation

  • How about avant-garde-users :-)

  • Networking users?

  • yes, I had network user down, which I think is a good term to use.

  • So, I've read trough all the comments and thought about this some more. I propose the following categories:

    -snail-mail-ers (no internet at all),

    -n00bs (eg grandparents),

    -slutty facebooks girls,

    -#nolife-ers

  • The grandparents go under the category: "mature" ^^

Well, people who have a major bunch of friends online might have more connections with people than the boy or gal who never leaves the village, marries a second-cousin and have weird kids.

so where do you fit in? Nolife-ers.. nah, slutty fb girl.. hm.. nah. I guess we could add wnkbr's, the highest level of onliners.. :)

  • I'm all for it ;) :D

Mature is ALSO a great plan. Old people sex ftw.

The idea, btw, is that.. well.. all the dudes go in the 'nolife' category.. it's just girls that ONLY go on facebook :p

  • about only girls going on facebook, dude, you haven't seen what I have seen. You are still innocent, don't ever change.. ha ha

  • Interneters.

    #nolife-users.

    Yeah, use the last one.

You forgot about the category 'old people', by the way.. who have internet, try to use it, but don't know how to xD #discrimination

  • ghehe I kind of like the JEWS answer, although for your scientific credibility I'd understand if you'd opt out on that one :p

I think you should pick a name related to networks, because that's the whole idea; creating a new network/community with people you don't know offline (yet).

  • hm, network user is actually not bad, interactive user is in for the bid as well.

Are you having really crappy weather in South NL, cause we are experiencing class-2 storm, the road is blocked outside town, bridge to Denmark closed and I'm worried about my car (the one that drove us to store, but without the crashing) cause a big tree is leaning more and more over it.

    ...Network user... hm... contemplating... hm.

  • I have to agree with loppydisk.. Webaholic sounds like a good name.

  • Duuuude!!!! Looking forward to our London meeting :D, I think it could be "Prolific Users" "Reliant Users" Errrrm, not sure what else :D

    See you Monday :D

    Ben

  • Call them Justifiably Electonically Wired Systematics. Or JEWS for short. I can just see the defense now -

"And, in my scientific opinion, the JEWS are responsible for everything bad on the Internet."

    It would get you noticed.

  • I am absolutely the worst at coming up with names for things, but sounds like you're getting a lot of great ideas from everyone else on here!!

Can't wait to see you!!!! :D

  • well, give it some thought, maybe the answer will pop up at a river, no a reservoir...

and yes, me too, good to see you, really dejligt

  • What's up man?! The 3rd one is very similar to mainstream users. ...I don't know man! :-)

  • well, you're definitely not mainstream, ha ha. I thought the phonesex sounded like an interesting topic. Any volunteers on that?

  • I'm gonna do that as a solo project! :-)

  • Hello i'm watching.

  • I feel you on this, its hard to put a name to it. You want nothing less than the prefect word. maybe cyber-groupies or webaholic

    good luck

  • Meta-users, right?

  • immersed-users

    adapted-users

    proficient-users

    i like proficient i think ;)

  • Indepth-User

  • top-of-the-food-chain-users?

    Videobivors?

    OMG -Online Media Gurus?

  • (-: VIP users? (-:

    hardcore users

    Reality escapees

FaceYou's dunno...cant think of anything, awesome you'll see kelly soon (-:

  • it will most definitely be awesome to see her and Ben.

thanks for your suggestions, developed user sounds a bit matrix tho, :)

  • various-users

    developed-users

    acquired-users

good luck finding a suitable one.

  • thank you, yes, the video is really living up to its potential, lots of great feedback.

a question tho, is it "I am there public" or "I am the republic?". Like the wordplay!!

  • @princeword well, it is "i am the republic", but i noticed it when i typed it in. at least someone saw it!

  • how about unsystematic-users. best of luck with your project.

  • thank you, well, unsystematic could display the user as not being familiar with systems, but I see what you're getting at.

  • Plugged-in users, perhaps?

And I think that you can definitely reach 600 by the end of the year!

  • We should just call it what it is.. Nerds.

  • Nerds is a timeless category, which only now applies to people who are not socially active, tho that could be discussed, ha ha. I still have my stereotype of a nerd from 'Can't buy me love', one of the best teen-comedies evar!!!

But I'll be a nerd if you will.

  • Hmm... "Invested users" or "Highly Invested users" maybe?

  • "inter-platform-users" or "multi-platform-users"

  • While I wait for you to unfreeze, let me comment on what I know to be true so far... THANK YOU for the awesome shoutout! I love all the links!! Wowzers! And I am racking my brain trying to think of a name for the intense users - "360 interactive-users"? Um... Let me think some more. I'll get back to you. Let's see if this video is ready to go yet or not.

  • Evolved users?

    InTouch Users?

    UpToDate Users?

    Social Users?

    Interactive Users?

    :)

  • Interactive user is not bad... I like it

You're getting there, people, you're getting there.

  • so basically, my parents and grandparents are mainstream users according to your theory? they use it for email and possibly netbanking, but they never chat, don't have facebook or myspace,...

I think they are more non-users, but of course, since they use the internet, they aren't. so.. what category do they belong? is this mainstream category a very broad one? cause my sisters are definitely in the mainstream one, but they use the internet way more often than my parents do, and way less than me

  • most people in western society would be put in the mainstream, since the word itself evokes a broad spectrum. I believe they (your grandparents) don't use facebook but probably have an idea of what it is/heard of it.

  • perhaps a social-user? ehm...

    a never-offliner? ehm doesn't sound that catchy :p

internet-addict; hardcore users, LYSLO-users (living your social life online),

it's not just using anymore, it has become a part of their lives...

  • hardcore user sounds a bit perverted, hard user sounds like a drug addict, but I like the discussion.

  • I am so impressed rite nao.

  • yeah, and mia-users... that has quite a connotation... I love London! I was like, whenever someone goes to London, I'm gonna ask them to bring me hot pink shoelaces from Camden market... yeah, I'm all weird like that :p

I want to go to London!

  • I'll see what I can do ;)

I want to go to London too, oh wait, I am going... woop woop

  • my last sentence was... I want to go to London!

and your first sentence is: I'll see what I can do..

so now I'll just conclude that you are going to buy me a trainticket or planeticket to London...right :p

but then again, that doesn't sound very logical, so you must be referring to the shoelaces. for the record, don't. now I reread my comment, it may have sounded like I asked for it, I didn't. that was not my intention. I was just randomly saying what was on my mind.

  • nah, you asked for it, I sure know when a girl is begging, ha ha.

  • no I didn't! I really didn't! now I feel bad about it.

  • Ha ha, I'm just kiddin with you, don't worry!!!! Written text just can't do what spoken words can. Also, I already had the market on my list so I'll at least check it out.

    London calling!!!!

  • Haha, I liked Heavy Users!

But I don't know... Maybe Daily Users, but then again no, cause if fb is mainstream that don't work considering you check your fb at least one time a day... how about Constantly Online Users! Or All-Around-The-Web-Users short- AATWU ^^

  • I like Heavy users.. kinda like addicts.. which is what.. we are :)

  • "and they say we're not responsible...we are, we are"

  • Avid-users.

    Maybe?

  • that could work, tho I reference that more towards non-Final cut users :p
