The grandparents go under the category: "mature" ^^
Well, people who have a major bunch of friends online might have more connections with people than the boy or gal who never leaves the village, marries a second-cousin and have weird kids.
so where do you fit in? Nolife-ers.. nah, slutty fb girl.. hm.. nah. I guess we could add wnkbr's, the highest level of onliners.. :)
ghehe I kind of like the JEWS answer, although for your scientific credibility I'd understand if you'd opt out on that one :p
I think you should pick a name related to networks, because that's the whole idea; creating a new network/community with people you don't know offline (yet).
hm, network user is actually not bad, interactive user is in for the bid as well.
Are you having really crappy weather in South NL, cause we are experiencing class-2 storm, the road is blocked outside town, bridge to Denmark closed and I'm worried about my car (the one that drove us to store, but without the crashing) cause a big tree is leaning more and more over it.
Nerds is a timeless category, which only now applies to people who are not socially active, tho that could be discussed, ha ha. I still have my stereotype of a nerd from 'Can't buy me love', one of the best teen-comedies evar!!!
While I wait for you to unfreeze, let me comment on what I know to be true so far... THANK YOU for the awesome shoutout! I love all the links!! Wowzers! And I am racking my brain trying to think of a name for the intense users - "360 interactive-users"? Um... Let me think some more. I'll get back to you. Let's see if this video is ready to go yet or not.
so basically, my parents and grandparents are mainstream users according to your theory? they use it for email and possibly netbanking, but they never chat, don't have facebook or myspace,...
I think they are more non-users, but of course, since they use the internet, they aren't. so.. what category do they belong? is this mainstream category a very broad one? cause my sisters are definitely in the mainstream one, but they use the internet way more often than my parents do, and way less than me
most people in western society would be put in the mainstream, since the word itself evokes a broad spectrum. I believe they (your grandparents) don't use facebook but probably have an idea of what it is/heard of it.
yeah, and mia-users... that has quite a connotation... I love London! I was like, whenever someone goes to London, I'm gonna ask them to bring me hot pink shoelaces from Camden market... yeah, I'm all weird like that :p
and your first sentence is: I'll see what I can do..
so now I'll just conclude that you are going to buy me a trainticket or planeticket to London...right :p
but then again, that doesn't sound very logical, so you must be referring to the shoelaces. for the record, don't. now I reread my comment, it may have sounded like I asked for it, I didn't. that was not my intention. I was just randomly saying what was on my mind.
Ha ha, I'm just kiddin with you, don't worry!!!! Written text just can't do what spoken words can. Also, I already had the market on my list so I'll at least check it out.
But I don't know... Maybe Daily Users, but then again no, cause if fb is mainstream that don't work considering you check your fb at least one time a day... how about Constantly Online Users! Or All-Around-The-Web-Users short- AATWU ^^
You're probably done with this now, but...
"Dedicated users"?

So, I've read trough all the comments and thought about this some more. I propose the following categories:
-snail-mail-ers (no internet at all),
-n00bs (eg grandparents),
-slutty facebooks girls,
-#nolife-ers

I'm all for it ;) :D
Mature is ALSO a great plan. Old people sex ftw.
The idea, btw, is that.. well.. all the dudes go in the 'nolife' category.. it's just girls that ONLY go on facebook :p
dutchforn00bs 2 years ago
about only girls going on facebook, dude, you haven't seen what I have seen. You are still innocent, don't ever change.. ha ha
princeword 2 years ago
Interneters.
#nolife-users.
Yeah, use the last one.
You forgot about the category 'old people', by the way.. who have internet, try to use it, but don't know how to xD #discrimination

Call them Justifiably Electonically Wired Systematics. Or JEWS for short. I can just see the defense now -
"And, in my scientific opinion, the JEWS are responsible for everything bad on the Internet."
It would get you noticed.
