Just out of curiosity, why would you spend 1600 on that speaker, when for that price, at the time you could have bought 3 Fi BTL N2's that is rated at 2kwrms, yet can handle 3kwrms?? I have 2 N2's from them, extremely clear. I can guarantee you that my two 15's for 600 less are louder and clearer (low tuned box for SQL). I just don't get why (assuming here) you don't do more research and can get something louder for way cheaper.

@mazda2284 Its all about the design of the box more than the woofers when you compete in spl. Now you want a real woofer that will take 5000w rms and will take way over 30'000w max. Go get an atomic apx. That woofer will beat the brakes off a pioneer. The only reason pioneer is successful in spl is because they use atomics (VMG) Vented Magnetic Gap technology to cool the coil . With out atomics technology the woofer would not hit the 180 mark in spl and in daily play it would only run maybe2500

@dpimpchris i have a Crescendo 3Kwp to pust it , it costs 550$ brand new and puts out a TRUE 3330 RMS @ 1 ohm , and this sub will take it like nothing. i didnt pay retail for the subwoofer , when they did sell these most places online you could find these for 1/2 of pioneers 1600$ MSRP lol. fi had to learn from somewhere , pioneer has been making these 3k rms subs for 5 years before FI released the N3 lol !

Damn $1600, the new Fi BTL N3 pushes 3000 watts rms and it only cost about $590 for the 18'' fully loaded. Learn how spend your money alittle wiser my friend. The old BTL N2 18'' is even cheaper, its 1000 watts lower but you just spent to much.

Fi makes some bullet proof subs. Their btl series may be 'only' rated at 2000 watts rms, put people have put 3-4 times that into it without issues.

@mazda2284 Its all about the design of the box more than the woofers when you compete in spl. Now you want a real woofer that will take 5000w rms and will take way over 30'000w max. Go get an atomic apx. That woofer will beat the brakes off a pioneer. The only reason pioneer is successful in spl is because they use atomics (VMG) Vented Magnetic Gap technology to cool the coil . With out atomics technology the woofer would not hit the 180 mark in spl and in daily play it would only run maybe2500
