  • Now that's a pocket!

  • what is that weird bass-sounding drum he hits at 2:10?

  • Here in Brazil we call that "pandeiro"

  • I was wondering the same, i dont think that thin drum is making much sound at all. I think he just uses it to let other drums stand out more.

  • Stanton is carrying the New Orleans' funky-drummer touch. It's always a pleasure listening to Stanton Moore.

  • the second bass drum blows my mind

  • what a beast

  • Love him!

  • I study at the ICMP!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Stanton...one of the best!

  • GROOOOOOOVE!!

  • 2:10 is almost the same beat from The moil from his bands album Galactic

  • Groove at 2:10 is nice!!

  • stanton moore is an outstanding groove drummer but that beat that he puts down starting at 2:46 sounds a whole lot like a zigaboo beat from "here comes the meter man". granted, everyone has their influences but...

  • What a sick groove (in the best sense of the term)! That hole he drops right around 3:12 is devistatingly musical. It's like someone pulled out the carpet for a second and put it right back. Real drumming for real musicians. AWESOME.

  • GOD DAMN!!!

  • and he can go on like this for days and days...

  • lmao as if travis barker could ever groove like stanton moore

  • I've been waiting for ages to hear someone say that! totally agree.

  • one of the best there is. thanks

  • this guy is wicked good

he has ridiculous groove and creativity and IMO those are the most important things.

  • The magic sound of Drummer!

  • Stanton is just the coolest cat out there, no doubt about it. He's so smooth. Just chills and lays down groove upon groove upon groove. His rrlrrlrlr is so simple but adds so much variety on a kit. He'll always be known for killing it with rrlrrlrl and llrllrlr but it's an honor I'm sure he loves.

Just smooth. "I hope you dug it." What young white dude in hipster glasses talks like that without sounding like they're trying too hard? Nobody but Stanton.

  • DUDE!!!

  • I am gonna get a million thumbs down for saying this but that last beat Stanton plays sounds like the kind of beats Travis Barker plays when he's doing his thing with DJ AM.

  • Barker is not at all a bad drummer, just not as well-rounded as Stanton. I think it was a good observation!

  • wow, it really does

  • fucking badass. ive listened to stanton for a while now and i am still amazed with his cowbell grooves.

  • q groso es este tipo

también es excelente haciendo rock, por lo visto aquí!

  • Just like the old days broyher--Loved It! T

  • awesome. loved every second of it!

  • stantons the man

  • P H A T

  • Well Stanton is a Gretsch endorsor so they make him kits all the time so am sure he'll have them make him another, i've never seen picture's of him using a kit like this for clinic's only his band stuff and major events, i was working for Birmingham Drum Centre when Stanton did the clinic last year me and my mate from the shop picked the kit off him and Mike Dolbear to bring back to the shop, he signed all the heads and the inside of the snare awesome sounding kit nothing quite like a Gretsch.

  • Did Stanton get a new kit?

  • I actually brought this kit from Birmingham Drum Centre after Stanton finished his tour last year, the drums are Gretsch USA Customs in Broken Glass not Silver Glass Glitter, rare finish that Gretsch are testing the water with, features 70's badges, size's are 12x8 14x14 16x16 20x14 26x14 14x5 10x5.5

  • luky you

  • i was there, you should of seen when he was showing how to groobe even crotchets on the ride.. pulls the best faces...

    awesome drummer .. much respect

    Dejaar

  • OOOOOOooooh..I really love Stanton's grooves!

  • I love this man's set up. The bass drum to the left of him just seems genius to me.

  • These drums have the drop G badge that was made from late 80 to late 81, but they seem to have been re wrapped in silver sparkle.

  • hey youtube, can I comment yet or is this one still gonna be pending for approval!

  • Oladipo5, these are older 70's stop sign batch drums covered in what looks like a new silver sparkle wrap. Stanton's got an extensive collection of vintage Gretsch drums.

  • His snare sounds poppy then usual like a piccolo

  • very tasteful

  • He seems to be using bigger drums now. Newer as well...it's just not the same to me as his older gretschs

  • These are from the 70's stop sign badge drums, but looks like re wrapped in silver sparkle. Stanton's got an extensive collection of vintage Gretsch drums.

  • so fucking smoothe

  • Awesome - great groove in every phrase

  • Not overly complex but masterfully done.

  • Most overly complex music is crap, anyway.

  • love the groove 1:35 in

    fuckin awsome

  • that's the groove from Sprung Monkey

  • The second part of this video is really cool...I need more cowbell Stanton (hee hee hee).
