Niggative: whatever."The levels of pain the human mind can bear?" Judge, judge, judge. Time is running out. I'd suggest a better endeavor, like coochie hunting. Levels of pain will come, and we'll see if you can deal with what life deals to you (we all get our share), but you'd be better served getting some decent cooch, go to sleep, and get some more when you wake back up. Mmm. *WARNING: requires human interaction outside of the internet.
@juanazulyeah04 Threw up, the guy threw up on the carpet. He was 'fine' when he had to change her tubes (to drain out her skin), but he saw one of the nurses eating chili and it made him throw up.
I've also had my experience with "Hamburger Lady". After 10 spliffs shared between two, I wen to bed, put a sub on the floor and two speakers around my head. Put the "Lady" on and... All I can say is that I've never experienced anything like that before.
I haven't watched the video coz I was reading ur shitty comments lol no offence they are all great.
Was expecting some discussion on "the levels of pain beyond what human mind can bear". Certainly, the movie "Martyrs" shows what can happen after e.g. torture... and that is a transcendent state of freedom.
RIP Sleazy Pete - 1955-2010...with Joe Strummer and Ari-up of the Slits gone and now this, we should salute the end of '70s English punk/industrial/ska/reggae
I think the thing at 0:56-1:01 is the mouthpiece for something like a saxophon or clarinet; I imagine something like that with a delay effect would create the sound you hear.
this is just straight up disturbing shit right here...i love it..."the lady in the potty chair"...i used 2 drop tons of acid and listen to these guys...ain't been quite the same since.
no...they only got to use it for that goth compliation via Mute.
I highly, highly doubt WMG even owns the copyrights to TG's back catalogue at all. EMI owns Mute Records, so WMG should not even dare mingle with another record label's materail
I assume you don't mean the higher-pitched noise (which appears to be a whistle/kazoo thingy of some kind). The lower sound sounds like a guitar, but it could be a synth sample.
Hell, they could be playing the "break instruments and machines" back there, for all we know.
"we did the wall of sound at the beginning. That's the most unbearable hit. And it really did aggravate people. We got beer glasses flying etc. It was very nice to know we still could have that effect." told GPO about this gig.
In front of an undisciplined audience, TG were more efficient, more relevant. Upload more, pleeeez.
I think it's even creepier than Suicide's Frankie Teardrop (which often gets used for comparison), mainly because the noise actually sounds like a hospital vacuum cleaner.
I think so, too, but I always thought that Frankie Teardrop was unsettling in a different way--Hamburger Lady is slow and consistently eerie while Frankie Teardrop has lots of spontaneous screaming. They're both great songs and really good bands.
please upload the rest if you haven't already! ASSUME POWER FOCUS!!!

I always intepret that kazoo/harmonica sound as the wails of the hamburger lady
scary shit when you can't see what makes that noise

Pretty sure that's a trumpet, you can kind of see it at one point. I could be wrong though.

It's a harmonica.... you can see it in a few shots, like around 0:56-1:01.

I'm not sure...it's a lot less frightening when done live, but still a magnificently "evil" performance!
It's just that listening to the studio version in the dark at 3 in the morning (which I'm doing now) is a much more efficient mindfuck!
VIMaggotVIBrainzVI 3 years ago 2
granted, without seeing how the sounds are made, it makes the listening all the more unsettling
