I've been playing around the EEEbuntu Standard 2.0 Live CD on a 4GB SDHC card in my EEE 701, but could never get the Lock Screen feature to work (I think it's CTRL + ALT + L). As you have EEEbuntu fully installed, could you try CTRL + ALT + L and tell me if the screen does lock?
All that happens for me is the screen darkens, but doesn't ask for a password (like I'd expect) when I move the mouse...=/
