@Quelaag You better bring back that artwork, Quelaag, because, honestly, your apartment looks like crap :p
By producing the game theirself, they can do what they want, AND they can sell it for both consoles.Wasn't aware Demon's Souls got bad reviews in Japan. I loved the trailer - it just seemed so "well done" if you understand. Glad I pre-ordered the special edition. If you e-mail From Software, and attach a picture of your apartment, I'm sure they would send you a Dark Souls-poster ;)
I played "Simon's Quest" yesterday. It is awesome. Really brings back memories from my childhood.... the game is pretty complex. How did I beat it at that age?... I didn't even speak English then..
This pretty much hits nail on the head on whats wrong with the industry today.
Ive been closely holding dibs on the videogame industry ever since and in the past 25 years, the innovation has mostly died to a halt, good new IP:s are far and wide between and the development cost of videogames become so obnoxious its no wonder any developer isnt willing to take a risk.
In a world where a developer can sell a very elaborate DLC package for 60 dollars, you just have to wonder WHAT went wrong...
@MultiDoorknob Well, its becoming similar to the film industry. The separation between the larger companies and the independent developers has already become a divide. Its going to be interesting.
The casualization(not a word) of Role Playing Games is a simple adaption to the new growing class of casual gamers who will be satisfied by a lesser product, they do not possess the same nostalgia or sense of experiance possessed by more seasoned gamers. However, it is great to have developers in this day and age who care far more about the satisfying the player base than simply appealing to the largest customer base. Thank the Old One for From, speaking of which can't wait for Armored Core 5
Um, 1:59 no one want's to play Simon's Quest... Not that mess again lol

Interviewer:I feel one of Sony’s biggest software mistakes this generation was passing on publishing Demon’s Souls in North America and Europe.
Sony:Absolutely! Tell me about it! 100 percent agree!
They regret it now.

Shows what marketing knows, nothing! Just takes some time for everyone to catch on to something great.
Also how did Sony want to change the difficulty, harder or easier?
Also your closing made me sad, reminding me why I don't want to put out any of my creative ideas and have to give them up.

@Lownek They wanted to make it easier because apparently, all of us here in america are a bunch of sissies and can't handle a challenge.
