  • to get the cursor in the center of an object select the object, click SHIFT+S then press CURSOR-SELECTION

  • Great tutorial, but say you have a really long small cylinder. If you move it in too much it will go right through the big one. How can you fix this?

  • i tried the mech rigging and it worked !! bu t in the game engine it doesnt... i tried with always-track to actuator, but it is tracking somewhere else then the target object...

    do you have any idea??

  • I've personally have not played with it in the game engine, but I would play with the tracking constraint parameters, or try a different constraint entirly-Like IK constraint or 2 locked tracked constraints.

    Let me know how it goes.

  • Haha, awesome. I love Blender's constraint features, you can create such great things with them. And, it's also a lot easier to work with things when you know how they're made. (I'm saying this because some 3d software that's made for rigging has built-in objects, such as a piston.)

  • Haha Realy a great and fun way to lurn about Blender Technicle rigging! I never had to use it, but know I know how. When I want to animate it, wouldn't I be needing bones?

  • This is a good point I need also to animate it.

  • Now that you mention it. Recently I have intently been working on bone rigging and the thought of bones and pistons came up. When making a robotic character it would probably be a good idea to have a bone inside the armature actually manipulate the bone, so I'll let you know how that goes when I get to it.
