  • Bad Bad Bad!!!!!!.....Bad for the hobby, Bad for the species, Bad for the bloodlines!!!!..... Your an Arse!!!!!....you should be banned from keeping T's......

  • Ts are keep as pets and with lots of research we try to provide what they need so they could live a long life. in fact captive breed tarantulas may live longer then wild ones.BTW what ever happen did she gave you a sac?am not against what you did as longest you dont sell them as G. pulchripes.am not that close minded it depends on what you do with the slings.

  • I had no idea T keepers were so against responsibly breeding T hybrids.

I have Snake hybrids and I thought I got a lot of hate towards my pets. You people need to get a life and stop hating on what he is doing. It is his pets he should be able to do what ever he wants. I only know about fish, snake and some mammalian hybrids, but most hybrids are superior health wise to there pure ancestors.

  • PUTANG INA! You're not fit to keep T's.

  • you are a a disgrace to the hobby

  • If any one purchased G rosea spiderlings from this guy you did not get G rosea you received a hybridized species. One of the results of hybridization is the offspring are often sterile (thankfully). michael you should not have misled your buyers. You had a responsibility to inform them of the true origin of the tarantulas they were purchasing from you. You should not have allowed a single individual to leave your care. Information on hybridizing tarantulas facebook. com / SN2itch

  • What an obscene disrespect for life...sooo sad

  • @Upjohn252 what part is disrespectful.

  • michaelrichichi

    Re: Hrm

Yeah, I got about 200 slings that I sold as G. rosea since that's what the mom is.

    Sent to: icabodcrane

Admitting to selling them as the wrong species ON TOP Of hybridizing? Thanks for the heads up, put this on the anti-hybrid website :D

  • No one Buys cross bred T's. And if they do that sucks for them

  • @TheTarantulaMan , I've seen many people in the hobby that have "hybrid" tarantulas in their collection. Including people like tarantulaguy, Yes it is wrong to sell them as something they're not, sell them as exactly what they are. If somebody wants to purchase a hybrid for their own research then let them do it. And as far as you people saying that they're playing "god". In a way all of us hobbyist are playing "god" in some way or another. How do you think that Tarantulas got so diverse!!

  • If you insist on crossbreeding for the sheer science of it, please do not let any hybrid offspring leave your home and destroy the ones you don't want to keep. Even if you sell them under a tag of hybrid, many vendors, sellers, and resellers are irresponsible and will sell them under false IDs. We aren't being self-righteous. We seriously care about this hobby. Many species are only kept in this country due to captive breeding. If hybridization mucks that up, we can no longer enjoy that species

  • Mucking up the hobby. If they produce a viable sac there will now be a potential 50-200+ hybrids that could potentally make their way into the hobby and create many issues with IDing. All it takes is for one person to get one, have no clue what it is and start breeding it with others. The genuses are already a mess and intentially creating more hybrids will make it even harder to correctly identify the species. Please stop doing this.

  • Yeah...so everybody has taken a poo on you already. I hope you grow up at some point. This is such a bummer.

  • @Scorpionking1104 Exactly!

  • As if IDing tarantulas wasn't a pain in the ass as it is. I hope the sac becomes a dud when he is actually loaded up. Reptile morphs are created by selectively breeding the SAME species that have a certain trait (interesting patterns or melanistics). Lot of people are going to be unhappy customers if they paid for a pulchripes and got a sterile, unvaluable hybrid. You aren't going to find many buyers of labeled hybrids. Especially if on a forum.

  • Oh look, another hybrid video. Please don't make hybrids. Bad for the T's, bad for the hobby.

  • I do hope you know this has been reported to some very major forums, as well as the facebook site AGAINST hybrid T's. I hope you don't plan on being a reputable tarantula breeder in this lifetime ;).

  • So you crossbreed and use live invertebrates for feeders. Yeah I'm a weirdo that takes these "bugs" too seriously but you are a moron with no respect for life. Tell me exactly what makes a tarantula or any other bug less important than any other organism.

  • That's just stupid, period!!!!

  • Your an idiot who should NOT keep T's.

  • @crazy61l

My an idiot? Oh! You meant to type "You're". No, you're the idiot. As for the spiders, you're also too uptight. I somewhat agree with what you meant to type though, so I'll gladly sell them to you.

  • strange how people belive tarantulas and reptiles are the same. all the "morphs" you are talking about are made by breeding two of the same speices together, like the SHTCT in leopard geckos or the pied ball python. tarantulas are DIFFERENT species, there for should not be breed together. most of the tarantulas in the hobby are captive breed, meaning we should not mess up what we allready have in the hobby. there are over 800 species of tarantula, there is no need for mixed speices...

  • o wait i just read the description my bad, you should try sleeping with a gorrilla idk it might be good for you...

  • I would never do that again.

  • you should have sex with an ostrich see if the babies will have wings or a beak.. dude! wait even better! how bout a turtle! TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TUURRTLES!!! FREAKIN AWSOME..

  • a lot of self righteous pricks on here, ''oh it is frowned upon' 'sacrilege' gtfo. its not like hes going to set the offspring loose in the wild, besides tarantulas have been known to crossbreed occasionally in the wild.

  • People crossbreed dogs, cats, snakes, and other reptiles all the time. Unless it'll make the offspring unhealthy or something I don't really see the problem. The tarantula hobby exists purely for human entertainment, not the spider's. They will never be released back in the wild, so if cross breeding could make a cool color form I'd be fine with it.

  • Ok everyone, calm down. There is bigger shit than this to worry about in the world.

  • no point in this frankenstein approach to breeding T's

bad business all the way around

  • Did none of you bother to read the description?

Anyway, there are plenty of reasons to do it. I don't understand why so many are against it.

  • Your discription makes no sense, why not just introduce him to a female of his own species to encourage him to make a sperm web. Just blew your logic outta the water.

  • If I had a female of his species, I would have.

  • I would think twice before breeding these again.......A big NO NO

  • I may even think three times before I do it again, but I'll still do it again.

  • Any chance of fertile offspring being produced (and there is a chance from a mating like this) is frowned upon by the vast majority of the tarantula hobby, myself included. Your video & responses have made a clear statement about what is important to you. Forums, clubs and other groups are already ensuring that your reputation will precede you throughout the hobby.

  • Good thing I don't care. They're just bugs.

  • I have no consideration for the weirdos that take these bugs too seriously.

  • Thanks for proving my point. No need for me to point out your attitude problem. You're doing a good job of this yourself.

  • Although this is the same genus these are different "species".

People like you weaken our hobby by diluting it with less than Natures engineered creations.

Mans meddling is not needed or required.

Real keepers want pure blood lines, not mutts.

The offspring will most likely be weak, genetically inferior and sterile.

  • Read the video description.

  • i strongly advise not doing this again. you're messing with the genus and with 100 new spiders people will think it's a new species. get out of the hobby and get into dogs if you want to crossbreed.

  • Thanks for the advice. I never thought of it that way, you've really opened my mind.

  • I have no problem with hybrids. Why can't people breed T's like they do with dogs?

  • Well, theres a BIG chance the hybrid brood will be sterile AND it would totally bomb our hobby's economy and taxonomy. Sorry but lets keep our hobby PURE. There are still a lot yet to be discovered anyway.

  • Because dogs are all the same species. Canis familiarus. wheras these tarantulas are two different species Grammastola portia and Grammastola pulcripes. It is more like a "Liger" or "Wholfin" then a "Puggle". Hybridization of different T species could lead to the whole gene pool being tainted. Want a rosehair? Sorry they won't exist anymore if hybridization continues. Get it?

  • Nope, I don't. You should try googling "wolf-dog hybrid". Wolf (Canis lupus) and dog (Canis familiaris) apparently CAN be bred and the off-springs are "usually HEALTHIER than either parents due to heterosis".

If two species can inter-breed then there is nothing wrong with it because that's what nature dictates. Otherwise, they will prefer eating each other. I think fear of the gene pool being tainted is backward and is kinda similar to pure-blood supremacy in Harry Potter.

  • While Wolf/Dog hybrids may be Physically healthy they are not mentally stable and DON't make good pets. Wolf Dog Hybrids DO endager the purity of the grey Wolf:a species already threatenened with extinction. As the owner of a Coyote/Dog hybrid I can attest that these animals have behavioral inclinations that can make ownership very difficult. Hybridization that occurs naturally in the wild is one thing,It is a part of evolution. When we choose to remove natural selection species tainting occurs.

  • How do you know that they are not mentally stable? Or is it just because they don't act either as wolves or dogs?

Tarantulas such as pokies and haplos also don't make good pets! Venomous snakes also don't make good pets!

Human has been making unnatural selection for ages i.e. domestication of wild animals. Don't tell me man's best friend is naturally selected through evolution.

If these hybrids are indeed weak, they will eventually die out any way. That's evolution.

  • @testdasi If two species can inter-breed then there is nothing wrong with it because that's what nature dictates.i disagree, why?because a Male G. pulchripes it not gonna it not going to take the next fly to chile to meet a Female G. rosea so please dont use the nature excuse please.

  • @MrVenom1981 Are T's naturally found in a terrarium. If you're so concerned about them living naturally don't keep them.

  • @fishfreak95 wow you right! am a total hypocrite since i have a male B.smithi and a female L.parahybana lets spread the love!!!because that what nature dictates.

  • Nice video! But I strongly disagree with hybrids.

  • Why is that?

  • becuz they cause low egg counts, shorter life, and are just not valuable in the hobby...plus there will be less of the pure species that arent hybrids

  • I would be interested in reading any information you can provide that supports your first two claims. Otherwise, I'll delete your post. No spider is valuable to me, so I don't care about the last claim.

  • ill send you a link in a personel message
