As someone who plays both, my local airsoft field has a MAX of 350 fps for non-sniper, and 400 for snipers.

So that means your walmart electric guns CANNOT exceed 350, and your spring snipers cannot exceed 400. airsoft will break skin, as will paintball. in the right conditions of course.
