OK I have a question, was the pilot making that P.A. about the weather right before you were getting ready to land, or you just played the auido over the tape?
i find it amusing that newark airport became known as 'liberty', ever since after 9/11, yet usa is FAR from being a 'free' country! do people really feel that adding one 'word' to an airport name, will make a difference? you have more freedom in france than you could ever dream of in usa, but i dont see CDG being named "Libertee CDG Aerogare" etc....
@Havixus Dude, Jamaican pilots are the greatest.. Have you Heard of Air Jamaica crashing?? Have you heard them damaging a plane?? Have you heard of them making a mistake?? Have you heard of a bad flight experience?? They are 2nd to none, yet still most of these American airlines flown by American pilots crash more than once a year
@VIP100RoyalProdz Air Jamaice does not have very big fleet so its not big surprise if they have not crashed. Of course for example American Airlines has many crashes as they operate probably thousands of percents more of them than Air Jamaica.
No country has greatest pilots. Every country has pilots with different experience and skills.
@Pvjinflight There fleet wasn't always small and I say this cuz I have gone through both Air Jamaica and American Airlines training in the same craft and to me Air Jamaica's just make more sense and they hold the record for safest Airline. But you do have a point.
@VIP100RoyalProdz Safest airline of what area? There is lots of airlines in the whole world with same amount or more flights flown than Air Jamaica and no crashes at all.
@ColumbiaPerna It is actually proven that it's very, very, very, very unlikely that an electronic device will cause any interferance at all...unless your carrying per-say a device that sends out large amounts of radio waves
must of been scary... have you ever bent a peace of metal up and down a couple of time eventualy the metal snaps... LOOK AT THE PLANE WING !!!!! WTF :(
@GSTARSNIPERZ Wing is designed to flex like that, if it didnt it would snap instead like structure that isnt designed to flex does.
Yeah really this is probably first landing from youtube that really looks very turbulent, theres lots of others that claim to be so but in reality have only very mild turbulence and wing flex. I exprienced bit similar to this during approach to EFVA with ATR42, it was night so couldnt seen much but it really was pretty bumby as there was some high winds.
toughest landing of his career in 37 years. you better believe he was sweating a bit, but couldnt tell when his voice came across. pilots are proooooos
This is one of the best bad weather landings on u tube.I know alot of people would love to see this.Change the title to veteran piolot 35 years hardest bad weather landing. You;ll get 150,000 hits over night.Again great video thanks for sharing.
The epitomy of an experienced flight crew. What a great landing in such retched conditions. Good on you to capture it with you stomach I'm sure in knots.
@PunkCJ Mainline pilots get big bucks. In the UK, a BA 747 captain on average earns around £130,000, which is about $190K or so. Regional pilots in the US earn a poor wage.
Man that brought back a few memories!!! Landed at San Jose ca one time like that except the weather was good but windy! Imagine trying to land totally by interments in the fog and low clouds and the wind!!!!! Great pilot!
I landed at LaGuardia on the same day. We flew Southwest from Tampa to Baltimore and then connected from Baltimore to LaGuardia. It was my first time flying...needless to say, I may or may not have wet my pants. The connecting flight was nothing but turbulence. Our pilot was obviously a pro, it was also his hardest landing yet. Nice video thank you for posting!
dood ur ment to have phones off when taking off and landing cus it interfears with air traffic control? and i had the sameproblem when going from mempihs to liberty newark bad wheater!
Although it requires great skill for the pilot to land like that in such weather, almost 90% of it was on autopilot lol. (It's kind of required since there's no way you can do a visual approach, but I'm guessing the pilot took over at the last moment to gently land it down). Nice!
@azworx its ok that they show gratitude, but theres no reason ever to be scared of flying its much safer than driving cuz 44000 americans get killed in car crashes every year
Man I was in and out of Newark this week, no delays for once... Was greeted down the NJ Turnpike by a Lufthansa 747-400, landing parallel to us. Also saw a Singapore A340-300 and a Lufthansa A340-600. Don't get any heavies at the small airport where I live, so that was a real treat.
I love aviation, I love planes, military planes, commercial planes, everything. I hate when people clap for landings though =] In this case the pilot did a good job but for the rest of the landings, I would say at least 80% of them are the autopilot using ILS. BUTTTT cool vid lol.
The 737-300, "Classic", is also able to be equiped with winglets. Therefore, you cannot determine whether a 737 is CL or NG by it having winglets or not :) Other than that, nice video
@cjracer1000 You're missing my point. There are tons of ways to find out whether a 737 is CL or NG, but you cannot decide it out of the aircraft having WL's or not, as both CL's (-300's) and NG's can get them fitted.
@maggus999 Oh yes, I know exactly what you're saying, and I agree with you. I know that you can't simply look at the winglets, but you must look else where. My point was that he could have just looked in the seat back pocket, or elsewhere.
OK I have a question, was the pilot making that P.A. about the weather right before you were getting ready to land, or you just played the auido over the tape?
