  • OK I have a question, was the pilot making that P.A. about the weather right before you were getting ready to land, or you just played the auido over the tape?

  • I was hoping to see a crash.

  • He probably just told everyone he had 37 years of experience to ease the fears, lol

  • golf clap everyone golf clap

  • i find it amusing that newark airport became known as 'liberty', ever since after 9/11, yet usa is FAR from being a 'free' country! do people really feel that adding one 'word' to an airport name, will make a difference? you have more freedom in france than you could ever dream of in usa, but i dont see CDG being named "Libertee CDG Aerogare" etc....

  • nIce video, NIce plane, nice pilot, nice crew, nice airport and city AND NICE LANDING!

  • That was a really "hairy" landing...looks as if flight was barely at minimums...kudos to the pilot and crew...

  • @VIP100RoyalProdz What the fuck are you talking about? Shut up.

  • @Havixus Dude, Jamaican pilots are the greatest.. Have you Heard of Air Jamaica crashing?? Have you heard them damaging a plane?? Have you heard of them making a mistake?? Have you heard of a bad flight experience?? They are 2nd to none, yet still most of these American airlines flown by American pilots crash more than once a year

  • @VIP100RoyalProdz Air Jamaice does not have very big fleet so its not big surprise if they have not crashed. Of course for example American Airlines has many crashes as they operate probably thousands of percents more of them than Air Jamaica.

No country has greatest pilots. Every country has pilots with different experience and skills.

  • @Pvjinflight There fleet wasn't always small and I say this cuz I have gone through both Air Jamaica and American Airlines training in the same craft and to me Air Jamaica's just make more sense and they hold the record for safest Airline. But you do have a point.

  • @VIP100RoyalProdz Safest airline of what area? There is lots of airlines in the whole world with same amount or more flights flown than Air Jamaica and no crashes at all.

  • absolutley amazing, i wish people will do this on board my flights when i become a pilot, this inspires me. thanks so much

  • About what time was this?

  • american pilots are the best.

  • @wizzair1313 BY what data did you make that assumption?

  • @wizzair1313 Nope..

  • @VIP100RoyalProdz yes bitch yes they are

  • @VIP100RoyalProdz American Pilots Cant Be The Best When They Have Taken So Much Lives Cuz Of Their Carelessness They Are Not The Best End Of Story.!

  • like a boss

  • yay everyone claping 3 secs later boooooom

  • I have never had a rough landing before but the top two is a tie between a short runway in the Bahamas and a iced over Detroit Mi.

  • amazing pilot and aircraft.

  • Awesome! Some people don't realize that those guys hold our lives in their hands! Great video!

  • Good landing given the conditions. The pilot deserved the applause.

  • @ColumbiaPerna It is actually proven that it's very, very, very, very unlikely that an electronic device will cause any interferance at all...unless your carrying per-say a device that sends out large amounts of radio waves

  • Muito bom o seu video, gostei imagens diferente!!

    ( Brazil )

  • going to puerto rico august 6th from newark..good times

  • mm wow surprised he used that much flaps, you have to be cautious of a windshear or somthing that could throw you into a stall

  • @ZLinerz lol, lower speed more flaps you need in order to provent stall!

  • must of been scary... have you ever bent a peace of metal up and down a couple of time eventualy the metal snaps... LOOK AT THE PLANE WING !!!!! WTF :(

  • @GSTARSNIPERZ Wing is designed to flex like that, if it didnt it would snap instead like structure that isnt designed to flex does.

Yeah really this is probably first landing from youtube that really looks very turbulent, theres lots of others that claim to be so but in reality have only very mild turbulence and wing flex. I exprienced bit similar to this during approach to EFVA with ATR42, it was night so couldnt seen much but it really was pretty bumby as there was some high winds.

  • Wow amazing landing! I would've loved to be on this plane. Best part about flying right there.

  • going to Newark on the 30th of august

  • No matter how rough the landing, he got that bad bitch on the ground didn't he?

    :p

  • @JTyler52 Yeah, but getting a plane on the ground is the easy part, even I could do that!

  • @voodoodanny safely is the key

  • toughest landing of his career in 37 years. you better believe he was sweating a bit, but couldnt tell when his voice came across. pilots are proooooos

  • 3 people didn't have blue sick bags in their seat back pockets.

  • look at that wing flex at 0:19

  • The captain earned his pay on that one

  • Like they taught me in Flight School when landing in crosswinds always remember,

use the rudder to maintain center line and aileron's into the wind. Thats what this pilot did and he did a great job as well :D Good landing Cap :)

  • Wait, did the plane bounce during the landing? Dude that intense! Nice!

  • amazing landing! :)

  • this was one of the most amazing landings ever.......... good video!!

  • Was it a thunderstorm?

  • Amazing Flight Crew!

  • wow I would have shitted myself! look at the plane go up and down, what a rollercoaster

  • Great video...but why no 720HD?

Professional pilots put to the weather test. Awesome skill putting that aircraft on the ground. Glad you survived.

  • @ERLflight I'm glad I survived, too. I was using my iPhone 3G to capture the footage.

  • Waouh ! I LOVE THE TURBULENCES ! LOL ! =)

  • @andreasilve i do too :D!

  • I really wish I was on this flight. Excellent video!

  • Omg I was scared just watching it!! Excellent video, soon on a first time Continental/United flight from BQN to EWR.

  • wtf that wasn't rough at al!!

  • Nice! Love it when those wings wobble. Wobble wobble!

  • Unfortunatly it takes bad weather or an emergency to really show what airline pilots do. Real shame..

  • Yes, this is indeed some rough weather. Looks like they had quite a time keeping it stabilized. Great jobs pilots!

  • Nice video! Hard to find these on you tube. Continental Airlines rule. Gonna miss ya!

  • This is one of the best bad weather landings on u tube.I know alot of people would love to see this.Change the title to veteran piolot 35 years hardest bad weather landing. You;ll get 150,000 hits over night.Again great video thanks for sharing.

  • that wasn't rough really

  • @Aviationnation10 are you kidding me, look at the wing!!

  • @Delta1493 the 737 wings natrurally bend alot its called wing flex even when u go over a bump

  • WOW! Awesome video, edge of my seat, thanks for posting!!!

  • I was nervous for you watching this video, seemed like a smooth landing though.

  • oh man i had a rough experience with the same airline and same airport in nov 2010 that shit was crazy too, felt like i was on a roller coster

  • man the wing is all f%#ed up. why couldnt the pilot waited till the storm stopped?

  • @slapshot68

It is becuase it will take over hours for storm to go away and plane dosen't have unlimited fuel to play with :)

  • Wow. My ass puckered just watching this landing! Absolutely outstanding job.. he wound up making it look relatively easy!

  • Awesome pilot and landing.

  • THERE'S SOMETHING ON THE WING!

  • The epitomy of an experienced flight crew. What a great landing in such retched conditions. Good on you to capture it with you stomach I'm sure in knots.

  • Holy Shit!! He was really handling it nice for that weather, great job to the captain and first officer!

  • Kudos kudos and more kudos to that crew...this is why pilots get paid the big bucks!!! Awesome posting thank you buckleit!!!

  • @novej22 my pleasure!

  • @novej22 who told you pilots get the bucks? maybe you thing 15000$ a year are big bucks

  • @PunkCJ Mainline pilots get big bucks. In the UK, a BA 747 captain on average earns around £130,000, which is about $190K or so. Regional pilots in the US earn a poor wage.

  • @PunkCJ only for your first year in the airlines flying regional jets, by your second year for southwest your getting around 90k a year

  • Man that brought back a few memories!!! Landed at San Jose ca one time like that except the weather was good but windy! Imagine trying to land totally by interments in the fog and low clouds and the wind!!!!! Great pilot!

  • I landed at LaGuardia on the same day. We flew Southwest from Tampa to Baltimore and then connected from Baltimore to LaGuardia. It was my first time flying...needless to say, I may or may not have wet my pants. The connecting flight was nothing but turbulence. Our pilot was obviously a pro, it was also his hardest landing yet. Nice video thank you for posting!

  • un buen piloto.

  • That landing deserved the clapping! :)

  • Is that a 737-800, -700, or -900?

  • @pikapoketpu Ya, I will be sure to do that. Lol

  • @Vorash2002 thats getting flagged

  • @pikapoketpu thats getting flagged

  • this plane is beaing tossed around in the wind like a childs toy!

  • dood ur ment to have phones off when taking off and landing cus it interfears with air traffic control? and i had the sameproblem when going from mempihs to liberty newark bad wheater!

  • very impressive!thanks for sharing!great pilot!

  • Wow, that is a great landing, given the weather.

Although it requires great skill for the pilot to land like that in such weather, almost 90% of it was on autopilot lol. (It's kind of required since there's no way you can do a visual approach, but I'm guessing the pilot took over at the last moment to gently land it down). Nice!

  • After every landing weather in bad or good weather i always show my respect to the Pilots and rest of the crew. Great landing :D

  • @azworx its ok that they show gratitude, but theres no reason ever to be scared of flying its much safer than driving cuz 44000 americans get killed in car crashes every year

  • Man I was in and out of Newark this week, no delays for once... Was greeted down the NJ Turnpike by a Lufthansa 747-400, landing parallel to us. Also saw a Singapore A340-300 and a Lufthansa A340-600. Don't get any heavies at the small airport where I live, so that was a real treat.

  • i flew in and out of newark that day, haha and i have to say your landing was ten times better than the one i was on..

  • how did you record a video of your iphone with having it widescreen?

  • I love aviation, I love planes, military planes, commercial planes, everything. I hate when people clap for landings though =] In this case the pilot did a good job but for the rest of the landings, I would say at least 80% of them are the autopilot using ILS. BUTTTT cool vid lol.

  • @wolf1010 i hate when people clap for landings too it just shows they have no confidence. I also hate when they pray or scream in flight.

  • The landing itself didn't look that rough at all!

  • haha the captain admits "it's gonna be pretty bumpy" LOL

  • never seen such winglet activity ... must been a very hard ride....

  • @cof61 thats what she said

  • The 737-300, "Classic", is also able to be equiped with winglets. Therefore, you cannot determine whether a 737 is CL or NG by it having winglets or not :) Other than that, nice video

  • @maggus999 You could always look at the safety thing in the back of the seat.

  • @cjracer1000 You're missing my point. There are tons of ways to find out whether a 737 is CL or NG, but you cannot decide it out of the aircraft having WL's or not, as both CL's (-300's) and NG's can get them fitted.

  • @maggus999 Oh yes, I know exactly what you're saying, and I agree with you. I know that you can't simply look at the winglets, but you must look else where. My point was that he could have just looked in the seat back pocket, or elsewhere.

  • @cjracer1000 Yes of course, but he stated that he could decide the type just by the winglets, so I felt that I had to correct him :)

  • @maggus999 Haha, okay then!

  • Great landing for such bad weather! It was smooth! That's how good Continental pilots are!!

  • shit this anit nothing i was in weather that was twice as bad we got diverted

  • shit i remeber that strom i stayed till 4 am

  • They dont take off in 85 knot winds. Max is 40 kts.

  • dude i was in a plane that took off that same day... we were the last flight to leave due to weather and flew through 85 knot winds.

  • Yikes! That was a close one. Look at that wing bend!

  • Great video! Reminds me of my roughest landing in Edinburgh on a very foggy day.
