  • Great video, I am an ADI and mini roundabouts are confusing to a lot of learners. I would nornally stress that signals are very important at mini roundabouts because road position is often unclear because there is usually only room for one lane. I would signal right or left on approach but only signal to go straight on if there is time and would help a road user rather than confuse.

  • I was taught differently, even if the car is not signalling right you shouldn't trust them and drive on. They might have forgot to signal and boom

  • Hi thanks for the video at about 106 the car is on my right , but Im on his right, Am I missing some rule about where or how you know which car has the right of way, is it because of the junction on the left ?? also the bit about stalemates I have this problem alot, do you just have to be bold and safe and go ??

  • my instructor told me u aint gotta indicate on a mini roundabout so wen he says well the other car isnt indicating so i can go, well how does he know it aint guna turn on him

  • If im going straight across the mini roundabout, do i signal left after iv gone past the first left/exit? Or do i not signal at all? I have a double-mini roundabout where i take my test and i gets quite confusing.

  • Very nicely filmed and explained. Very helpful. Thanks!

  • fantastic work!

  • You make such an effort to go around the roundabout instead of clipping them. Made me laugh.

  • Thanks for making this! Not sure why, but mini roundabouts have always been a bit of a funny one for me! Great video, well thought out and presented well showing all scenarios.

  • Is it a problem that you are not indicating (left) to leave the mini roundabouts in these clips?

  • Good question, but no, it's no problem.

On mini roundabouts, there is rarely time to give a signal to exit. Even if you do, it will be showing for such a short time that it would be of no benefit to other drivers. Plus it could sometimes lead to a loss of steering control, especially for inexperienced drivers.

So no, there's no need for a signal.

  • Although IDriveSoM if i come up to a mini round about (with four exits) and i wish to either U-Turn or take the third exit (on my motorcycle) i always signal to let the driver infront or to my side know i'm going right. Otherwise they'll presume i'm turning left or going striaght over and knock me off

  • Very nicely made video, must have taken a while to catch the 'stalemate' situation. I once had a car indicate left but carried straight on. The only clue given was the drivers head moving around rapidly while he decided where to go. Watching the front wheels can help, especially on the bigger roundabouts.

The car driver @ 3:19 thinks their called overbouts!

  • I never rely on other people indicating to tell me it's safe to go. They either indicate when they shouldn't or they don't indicate when they should. By pulling onto the roundabout just because the red car is indicating left could be dangerous. I'd wait and see if he actually turns left before I go onto the roundabout. Drivers like that one in the blue van who are too lazy to indicate are the worst though.

  • Always Give way 2 the Right

  • Thanks for that.
