I am a guy, and this is my #1 favorite movie& film on earth. I know, me being a man that doesn't sound politically correct, but I grew up on this movie. Back in the day growing up in school etc(1989-90's) you sure as hell fire, wouldn't say something like what I said . But today we live in a different kind of society. Surely since we have all this perversion to date, one can overlook a guy liking a simple film like this. But then again, it is the simplest of things that confound the wise.

I was 2 when this came out and it was the first movie I seen at the theatre, but my mum said she had to take me out because Ursula scared me so much I cried everytime she came on.

This is the movie which saved Disney from the scrap heap, and were followed by some of the best Disney movies ever like Lion King, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. Now they produce second rate cheap films that suck. 90's Disney was the best. I feel privilaged I grew up when Disney was at its best.

i love all the disney movies, but the little mermaid seems to be my favorite. there is just something about it. it is a beautiful movie and story. Ariel is just, different from all the other disney princesses. she is adventurous, curious, brave, and willing. plus she has the most beautiful singing voice. and she is beautiful herself. :)

have any of you read the original 'little mermaid' ? that was the first story that made me cry, I understands disney changed it but you should REALY read the true story. I first read it in an old fairy tale book that my grandmother gave me, it dates back to around 1890... I LOVE IT !!!

I think Jodi Benson was the PERFECT voice for Ariel! Ariel was supposed to be 16 but the voice is perfect and her singing is fenomonal. You have to admit that she is a fabulous singer.
