  • Well, this is like the first honest comedyshow where I´ve seen the comedian telling a true, educational story.

  • I love the Dog Whisperer, but this is funny as hell. Bahahah

  • Different types of dogs, different behaviors, different intensity and different type of owners. Not all issues can be fixed in less than 2hrs. THAT"S A LIE. Some takes time, patience and consistency which a lot of owners don't have. Notice some dogs are taken from the owners for some weeks??? Anyone of you who talks BS about Cesar, you rehabilitate at least 1 red zone dog then share your ideas. In the meantime, shut your mouth because you just sound like an airhead jealous monkey.

  • It's true!! Everything he says!

  • ...except that The Dog Whisperer is (and always has been) on National Geographic Channel, not Animal Planet. So I guess he didn't quite pick up every subtle nuance of the show while he was obsessing about it and watching every episode over and over ...

  • stop hating

  • He's got it right Charlie -- Cesar is no whisperer at all - he uses force - and that is a whole other thing. There are other ways than using force...

  • As you can see the dog is in a calm submissive state. :)

  • Thats just too freaking funny.. LOL..

I'm still grateful to Caeser for helping the rep of "pit bulls" ... they need it, we need it.

  • @rockapuppy

    bullshit! he's not helping them!

  • Cesar is a fucking clown.

  • Worst accent ever. Lol!

  • there are countries where dog is on the menu. and then you have people like americans who put diamonds on there dogs and take them to therapy and hypnosis and shit. i feel like all you muphuckas are dumb and you need to stop trying to prove your opinion as the right one on youtube

  • Very funny, even if it wasn't true. It made me cackle, even though I love Cesar. Charlie is a comedian...obviously, he was joking :P

  • Wasn't funny at all. I was very disappointed in this show!

  • this is crack up

  • CHARLIE MURPHY!!!

  • treat works for some dogs

but if you think what the dogs originally assigned is its the wolf

they dont give treats to etchother they "bite" to prove that there domenent and tell what right and wrong

that what the dog does to us when hes mad

a dog dosnt care if it bite people or dogs they live in the now and sometimes they need corrections

  • @thenightmarecafe Wolfs are thought to have domesticated themselves by feeding off human waste dumps. The wolves with the least flight distance bred with others with the least flight distance to became dogs. Domestication turned dogs into a perpetually juvenile or 'paedomorphic' state. They have big eyes, short muzzles and act like juveniles forever..

  • @thenightmarecafe Dogis are opportunistic scavengers who do not have a strict hierarchy, they do not form tight packs in countries where they still roam and they evolved to work for food from humans! Read "Dogs" by Raymond and Lorna Coppinger.

  • I have nothing against this clip or Charlie Murphy. In fact I found it very funny. But for all you people out there who think Cesar Millan is strangling dogs, for real, You should stop listening to comedians for your facts and maybe check out the show.

Millan is against physically reprimanding the dogs, outside of the touching the dogs neck behind the ear, and also if the dog is attacking a person or another animal.

Cesar understands dog psychology. I use techniques from his show all the time.

  • @ryanpmurphy calm the fuck down you whiney little bitch, its just a joke so dont get all defensive

  • @logey23

I am, was and will remain to be calm. You are the one who is swearing.

Why don't you do the rest of the world a favor and grow up and leave your 12-year-old language where the rest of us did, in middle school.

On second thought, maybe you should go back to middle school to learn to read. I said it was a funny clip, which means I understood it was a joke. I was commenting on the people commenting on how evil Ceasar Millan is because they must believe that he really chokes dogs.

  • my fave part i love dog whisperer lol

  • People who get worked up about this are the people who spoil their dogs, leaving them stressed because their control is not working. Get some experience with a range of animals and you might begin to appreciate what he is doing. He doesn't strangle dogs, that is a complete anthropomorphism. He shows dominance when he is challenged, just like humans do to each other; humans and dogs exist in a similar social structure which is why they've been around us so long. Nature is the teacher.

  • @jacksawild How in the hell is saying he strangles dogs anthropomorphism? The dictionary defines anthropomorphism as "Attribution of human motivation, characteristics, or behavior to inanimate objects, animals, or natural phenomena."

Strangling is defined as "To cut off the oxygen supply of; smother."

That doesn't meet the criteria of anthropomorphism at all. I was unaware that you couldn't cut off the oxygen supply of anything except a human. Thanks for correcting me.

  • @lynndieengland I've never seen him strangle a dog; to do so would require unconsciousness on the part of the dog; this does not happen. The language is sensationalist and is applying human standards to what is an animal and as such is anthropomorphic. Keep reading that dictionary.

  • @jacksawild Anthropomorphism is atribuing feelings for dogs, intetions for their actions, like, the dog is "stubborn" and many others. There's a HUGE difference in spoiling a dog and treating them with respect. Get some experience with a range of animals and you'll see horses, cats, donkeys, ponys, chicken, pigeons that all have been trained in the past with coercive methods being trained in a more humane way. That's not diferent to teatching a dog to bahave.

  • @jacksawild Obviously, your concept of how much strangling is acceptable to apply to a dog is very different from mine and from the rest of the people that dislikes him.

How much spanking a child is really not beating them up, just educational? It's the same thing.

  • Couldn't describe it any better!

  • Cesar only chokes dogs that are trying to kill other animals and people. Most of the comments are from ignorant dumbshits that have no idea how to train a dog. I used to like Charlie Murphy too. Its too bad he had to let his inner nigger shine out.

  • @fatguyonthc Most dogs on cesar show are either hyperactive or fearful dogs, that hardly are trying to kill other living things. How's a leash pulling dalmation trying to kill other animals and people? how about the light-obsessed dog? There no excuse for coersive dog training, when we have the knowledge of better and more humane ways to do the exact same things.

It's quite obvious that you know all about how to train your dog, maybe it came along with your racist education :)

  • @fatguyonthc You're a "fat guy on THC" and you're calling other people "ignorant dumbshits"?

  • Now, just because Charlie's fav show is the DW, it outshines completly the obvious fact, in his jokes, that Cesar only strangle dogs? please, I could't care less about Charlies likes and dislikes, what I care for, and aplaude this vid for, is that he shows Cesar really as he trully is.

  • The 'king' isnt wearing any clothes!!

Well spotted Charlie!! Now lets spread the word!

  • The number of comments from people that see CM for what he is and have an understanding of animal behavior renews my faith in the developing dog-human relationship.

Thank you all for educating yourself and trusting your instincts!

  • ya, it's a joke...but Cesar is not.

  • HAHA all you people hating on cesar are JELLO. People cant stand that a no body, that came from a farm in Mexico is now a superstar and very sucessful family man. You all might think Charile is trying to "diss" or "reveal" methods..but you missed the part where he says thats his show, meaning he really loves the show AND cesar...you is just trying to be funny.

  • @ChilenoPiscean22 I don't hate him because he came from a farm in Mexico and is now a superstar. That wouldn't be right. I don't like his methods, that's all.

  • Someone who sees Cesar for what he is!

Great! For those that think Cesar doesn't do damage.... I work in animal control and we are taking in dogs that have been strangled by their owners - while being "trained". Hey, why not? Cesar does it.

  • PRICELESS!!

  • Eddie Murphys always halarious!

  • LOVE this, finally someone hit the nail on the head!

  • You people putting Charlie out as Anti-Cesar crack me up! LOL. I guess you missed the part about it being A fav show of Charlie's. Charlie nails it in a flattering and funny way, not a dissing, not getting it way.

  • Alot of people missed Charlie's point completely about Cesar. It was like laugh at what Charlie says but don't really get it, lol. Why dis Charlie's fav show?

  • I wouldn't let Cesar Millan work with any animal! We can't stand this over bleached toothed twit. We did attend one of his seminars/lectures in Seattle, we just had to see this creep up close. He was a nervous sweaty, stumbling mess! It was uncomfortable to watch until it just became entertaining. It is frightening to think people are stupid enough to listen to him.

  • @RottweilerRescue who cares dude?..Do you know anyone in here to be telling your personal, highly unlikely story to?..Charlie was funny, in the end he wanted to leave u with a message, that cezar technique is simple. If it was all that simple. CHARLIE WOULD BE TRAINING THE DOGS AND YOU'D BE DOING STAND UP.

  • @RottweilerRescue If it wasent for Cesar thousands of dogs would BE DEAD RIGHT NOW because of the lack of knowledge people have on dogs, which you obviously share in. I guess to you it's better just to kill them if they show nothing less then perfect behaviour. You can talk shit all you want but Cesar is a mulit milnaire who is respected and loved by many around the world. Sorry to hear that you attend seminares of people you hate....waste your time much?

  • The Dog Whisperer is a fucking Douchebag and deserves to be shot right between his fkn shitty eyes.

  • if your right you deserve 100 times worse.

  • suck my dick

  • I TOLD you not to fuck with the chil'ren Francisco!

  • lol

  • This guy is hilarious!Michael Vic's house-he will train trhat dog in 1/2 hour....Cesar is such a jerk-so machismo and his training techniques suck. A much better trainer who is gentle and top of the line in named jennifer Mccarthy-she works with dogs and wolfs and is amazing. I hate cesar!

  • I used to be a fan of cesar's until I took the time to thoroughly research all animal behaviour and dog training techniques. Now I know better. Positive dog/animal/human training techniques are beyond the understanding of naysayers. There is no question positive training methods work. For that matter, sadly, so do adversive methods, but with side effects (even for cm). But positive methods are vastly superior. Which method to use? It comes down to the character and intelligence of the trainer.

  • Charlie is not calling Cesar out ,he is using him for a comedy routine. Lots of comedians do takes on Cesar. Charlie never said he didn't like Cesar. The methods that Charlie says Cesar uses are for the purpose of the laughs . Cesar is calm/assertive not calm aggressive. Dog Whisperer season 6 Nat Geo channel tho not Animal Planet. Good routine Charlie, even spliced diff episodes together.

  • Fantastic! Good to see Milan exposed as the abusive charlatan he is.The dogs DO look stressed and shut-down if not plain terrified-look @ their body language.

  • Thank you Charlie for this one!! you Rock.

    Cesar is a hack trainer

  • Human is human and dog is dog.

You treat dog like dog treats dog. Dog do not have professor. Dog do not use positive reinforcement. Dog is dog. Not human.

Seriously. Do Cesar's dogs act like they are afraid of him? Ehh..... no. They don't. They treat him with respect, but they are very comfortable around him. Just like they are in nature with pack leader.

  • You are an idiot... I am a trainer and if you understood dogs' body language you would see that the dogs ARE afraid of him. Cesar is uneducated. He has NO FORMAL TRAINING. He IS a hack. His methods are outdated and cruel.

  • A lot of dog trainers have no "formal training". Do you believe there is one right way to train a dog?

  • @beaucerdog There is no "one right way" but there are certainly several wrong ways. Cesar's way is one of the wrong ways. He shows no knowledge of dog behavior, psychology, or body language.

  • @cluebattingcage

I used to be a big fan of cesar's until I researched animal behaviour and dog training techniques. Now I laugh at cesar's techniques. Do not believe everything you see on tv. By the way, dogs, and for that matter all animals including humans, respond best to positive reinforcement training. Dogs are the subject of many positive reinforcement studies. And don't believe old wives' tales about dominance and "pack leaders". You might as well believe that the earth is flat.

  • @cluebattingcage Humans are humans, and dogs are dogs, you're absolutely right. That's the reason we should NOT try to act like dogs!!! Training a dog is way of communication between 2 different species, there's nothing to do with what kind of education a wild dog gets from his pack mates.

Read only ONE book about canine body language and you'll see all dogs he train are shut down, worried, with tail down, ears back. they are quite the opposite of comfortable...

  • Shame on National Geo for putting profits before integrity ...they are fully aware of the position statements and how this man with his show has set us back 30 years.

  • Remember how it was even with us in school and how the professor that made us feel smart and safe and creative and had us wanting to be there and learn? ...now remember all those professors that scared us and how we only did enough not to get in trouble and never ever offered any more.

  • reason positive reinforcement works better than dominace training is you don't risk the

    side effects :

    Escape behavior aggression

    Apathy

    Generalized fear

    Learned helplessness

Loss of trust animal trained in negatives will work the level necessary to avoid negative stimulus.

animal trained in positive reinforcement will look forward to training and be more creative and attentive.

  • TDW is on the National Geographic Channel, not Animal Planet.

Animal Planet only promotes humane, reward based training, with shows like "It's Me or the Dog" with Victoria Stillwell or "Superfecth" with Zack.

  • Yes, lets fill our dogs with treats until they develop diabetes.

  • @beaucerdog LoL, do you feed your dog kibble? that's even more likely it's going to develop a diabetes for. Treats are treats, I can train my 15 pound dog half an hour with only ONE hot dog, given that I train her 3 times a week, how's THAT going to give a dog diebetes??? Even better would be to choke them, so they are not over feed? (Sarcastic) Wow, really, I *truly* amazed that you're thinking what's best for the dogs! (/sarcastic)

  • @jeenacolin Nope. Actually, I'm a raw feeder. I stopped feeding that processed death a few years ago. Treat training is unnecessary (especially with salty hot dogs :( ) and, honestly, very shallow. And what do I think is "best for the dogs"? Have we spoken before? Also, "Treats are treats"? Yeah, but people tend to hand them out way too often.

  • @beaucerdog Good to find fellow Raw feeders =P But if you think treat training is unnecessary, how would you train our dog? I just think it's a little contradictory to say you think what's best for the dog is to it beeing choked because he can't eat a few treats every other day.

  • @beaucerdog I used to work on a traditional training based dog training center, and it really pissed me off to see people telling they loooved their dogs, their dogs were their kids, but then having no remorse at all for jerking and choking them, because they didn't want to use treats. Rather contradictory, in my opnion.

  • @beaucerdog You have to remember that "Treat training" is not just teaching tricks to a dog, you can actually solve problems like aggression and fear with positive reinforcement in a complete humane way, It is, in my opinion, the best and the most clever way to improve a dog's life. There's nothing shallow about that. Sorry fro the long replies =P

  • @jeenacolin Yes, I dont understand why people think it is demeaning to feed our dogs for working for us, but it isnt demeaning to strangle them on choke chains, alpha roll, pin, scruff shake or correct. it doesnt make any sense!

  • Spot on! Charlie nailed that one. Wonder why more people can't see the horrible truth about CM.

  • He nailed it!

  • Um, it's CHARLIE Murphy, not EDDIE....

  • I fell in love with Eddie Murphy when I was four years old and saw Beverly hills cop and now I fell in love with him again. I rehab dogs who has been put true training like cesar millan and it is not fun several are human aggressive. He is so spot on!!!! awesome clip!

  • That is not Eddie Murphy :) It is his brother Charlie Murphy :D They look very much alike though...

  • You know this isn't Eddie Muphy, right?

  • What your point? This is Charlie Murphy, just like it say!

Charlie is Eddie's brother, an incredibly well respected comedian in his own right!

  • @RottweilerRescue Someone called him Eddie Murphy. Read the comments.

  • Hahahaha brilliant! LMAO here xD

  • Brilliant and so true

  • Excellent portrayal and oh so true. Wonder why so many people can't see it?

  • See, look, he's in a calm submissive state! LMAO!

  • BRILLIANT!!!!! So funny, and so true!!!!! Unreal how so many people think Cesar is a legend. We need to all stick together in the battle to educate these deluded people about proper dog training techniques and not the out-dated ones Cesar Millan uses!!!! So great to read sensible comments on here! :o)

  • Never a truer word. Well done Charlie.

  • I vote that Charlie be the new spokesperson for R+ methods.

  • Oh, man, is this good to see! Go Charlie Murphy!

  • Charlie you're AWESOME. Thanks for telling it how it us! Millan is a complete hack and I wish more people knew it.

  • @crysania4 A complete hack? wtf is that mean. People always hating on people who came from nothing and are now super sucessful. Keep hating.

  • @ChilenoPiscean22 It has nothing to do with "hating on" someone who is famous and came from nothing. It has to do with the fact that he knows nothing about dog behavior, but thanks to his charisma has convinced all sorts of gullible idiots that he does. As Charlie points out, his entire "rehabilitating" is based in choking the dog until it's almost passed out. Not exactly good training there. Like I said, the man is a hack.

  • @crysania4 Yea because regular people and counntless celebrites pay just to see Cesars' beautful face... If his techniques and logic didnt work, he would of disappeared long ago. Charlie was makign a joke, you know for laughs, he obvioulsy likes the show AND cesar, he clearly mentions that. If you are going by what a stand up comedy says to be true...then thats clear enougn message for people to know that you have no logic yourself.

  • @ChilenoPiscean22 What these people (and you apparently) don't realize is that (a) you're watching a TV show; no dog can be "fixed" over the course of one TV show and (b) these dogs are shut down. They're not "calm assertive." That's BS he throws out there. Watch their body language and you'd understand.

And no, I'm not going by a comedy routine to make my opinion. My opinion of Cesar was formed LONG before I ever saw this.

  • @crysania4

Wow let me answer all your points.

    a) You obviously havent watched the show or know anything about editing. 1st alot of dogs are NOT "fixed" in one "show" the easier ones are. 2 editing is the process of taking minutes, hours, days, months or even years worth of film and cutting it down so its fits a certain time frame.

    b) Explain "shut down" if that you mean certain behaviour is stoped..THATS THE POINT, bad behaviour stoped for better. Dogs are not beaten, nor bruised. Contin

  • @crysania4

Shut down mentally? Maybe but thats part os switch from dominace to submissive, which is a must if you plan on leading a PACK animal.

Iv owned dogs all my life, voulunteered at shelters walking dogs, what body language are you referring too?

I dont see anything that suggests a dog is cowering in sheer pain and fear.

Some people just can not understand things on the level that other can. To understand animals you must use intelligence and intuition, some like yourself lack one.

  • @ChilenoPiscean22 Ah yes, it's so easy to take someone seriously who insults you. Those who resort to that usually have little to say that's meaningful.

What body language am I referring to? Obviously you read it about as well as Cesar does. Dogs whose ears are flat against their head, showing whale-eye, bodies hunched over, licking their lips and yawning. All of those are signs of complete stress.

  • @ChilenoPiscean22 Shutting down a dog is not part of "switching from dominance to submission" (in fact Cesar uses those terms in a completely wrong way). Shutting down is a fear response. It's a dog who simply can't do anything else because the fear has overwhelmed him/her.

And yes, I've watched the show. I've read his book. I know a lot more about his methods than I care to, unfortunately.

I find it sad that people don't know anything about dogs and buy into his nonsense.

  • @crysania4 what do you do by the way? do you train dogs too?

  • @crysania4 in his shows he says, you will need to keep practicing this everyday to see changes. and there are times when he says i will return i a couple weeks time to see how they are doing. the show may be an hour long or so. but that doesnt mean that hes trying to say that he can make those differences in an hour. thats why he tells the people to keep practicing the things that he shows them.

  • Comment removed

  • This is the truth. Not just comedy, brilliant perception.

  • fabulous! would be great if it was on tv everyday so people can actually get the message that CM is one hell of a self obsessed control freak, manipulator and dog abuser! the man comes with a huge health warning with every show! thanks Charlie you really say as it is!

  • Spot on He is a total waste of air space

  • Brilliant!! Absolutely brilliant. CM summed up completely.

  • Too bad that Charlie Murphy will be the next to be sued by Millan's thug attorneys...YOU GO CHARLIE! Glad someone has the balls to tell it like it is. Also nice to see so many wonderful comments here - maybe the Positive training movement WILL be the end of Millan, eventually, after all.

  • I get more business from folks who try the guy on tvs intimidation techniques, then get bit by the dog, and ask the vet, who tells them to call me. Way to go, Charley, you just said it like it is!

  • brilliant

  • you go Charlie Murphy, and go and go and go and just keep on going. You know he`s going to come after you and threaten to sue don`t you, like he does everyone else that dares to call him on his methods.

  • Charley, You are awesome !!!!

YOu are so dead on !!

  • OMG!!!! Thank you so much!!!! I can't believe people fall for that crap he does to those poor dogs!!! YOU ROCK!!!!

  • When I posted politely against Milan in '05 on the IAABC list I was lambasted and tossed off!! I should have had Charlie Murphy write the post XD

  • They is so true! Thanks, Charlie, for seeing what he's really doing-- thanks to your audience for LAUGHING when you start with the line that this guy trains your dog "in one half-hour". I love it! (A hint, people: It's a REALITY TV SHOW-- no more "real" than any of the rest of them......)

  • I can't believe there aren't more comments here, here's a comedian who understands dog behavior. Wouldn't we all love to have people like him for clients 8-) and why did he have to begin with a doberman example, but then of course, he included the pitbull 8-)

  • WOW! Someone who was paying attention! I wonder if he noticed the hidden electric collars?

  • Did anyone see the episode of "Bones" with Milan? I laughed sooo hard as how he had himself portrayed my sides hurt for days.

I had a young cop with a pit bull actually come to me because when he did what Milan did on the show, his dog tried to bite him. xDxDxD

  • Comment removed

  • Perfect!!!

    Love it!

  • I want to hug you, Charlie Murphy!

  • I know the plot regarding these comments. Cue the fanatics who still believe the world is flat...

  • I love the you get what's really going on Charlie. Good for you and thank you!

  • Haha, this is awesome. Sums up Cesar Millan perfectly.

  • Great stuff!

  • Funny and bang-on true!

  • At last, someone noticed!!! fantastic :)

  • Everything Ceasar says on the show I already know. XD

  • Ahhhh! What a great way to get the message across that Millan is an ass! Thanks for putting this up!

  • Brilliant!

  • This about the best I've seen of Cesar Millan. Nailed him.

  • The show is on National Geographic, not Animal Planet, and it's about time it was taken off the air. Cesar Millan is a hack and an abusive misguided dangerous fool.

  • Charlie Murphy, you have outdone yourself.

Absolutely dead on, and very, VERY funny. Genius!

  • amazingly funny
