I like to think the Mrs. Mopp costume was an influence on Lisa Stansfield's costume for 'I Want To Break Free' at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert!
And, I know the Blackadder Goes Forth series was a few years after this, but the song also makes me think of the final scene where they go over the top.
She is one of the best persons that happened to this and the past century!!! We need more girls like Kate, they make the world a place worth to live in it!!!
It's nice to see no bad comments so far, but they can only come from those who could never understand the subtlety of this beautiful little song. Personally, I think it is scathing in its simplicity and was cleverly designed to be so from the outset. And it's just as relevant today as it has always been. Make of it what you will but it's always been one of my favourites.

I think you might be a bit pretentious mate! It really is only a pop song! But then I probably don't understand the subtlety. I'm not going to even mention the embarrassing video.
I don't think you'd understand the subtlety of it even if you had someone explain it with pretty drawings.
Whilst the sentiment applies to any conflict, this song (I believe) was inspired by troop losses in Northern Ireland. It applies even more to today's events, given UK society's obsession with celebrity (the Rock Star reference) and our self-serving, corrupt, cheating, spineless, incompetent and dishonourable politicians.
Open your eyes or go back to listening to Britney and Kylie.
@chandlerlewis this is why Kate's work is and will be an original, because it's timeless, it teaches you, or makes you dream and sense no matter if it's the 80', or 2010, it's like a classic, iconic, elegant work, quality. I love her, would like to met her just to thank her.
I found it at last! I've been looking for this video for months. The song is wonderful and the beauty of this girl (at that time she was 22) shines, even dressed in this peculiar way!
excellent, thanks for posting! I suspect today some cynic would come to blurb scenes like this down. Well, like soundzok already said, Kate Bush is utterly brilliant:-). A pleasure to see this.
Lana Del Rey is much better.

I love to see her scowl and grimace. If angels, flowers and rainbows feel jealousy it's because of her.

I really do love this piece of music, it is so true about the young soldiers. Kate Bush is an amazing singer and I idolise her. :)

Tricky said that? It doesnt surprise me though, but I would like her to get more credibility than she does.
This performance is lovely, simple but still so different and unique - like everything with Kate.
Love her to death!

The trip-hop artist Tricky has said about Bush: "I don't believe in God, but if I did, her music would be my bible"
