Japan has been unable to reach its kill quota for the past 6 years and last season the whalers only got 1/9 of their kill quota. and sea shepherd doesn't make any money off of this show, all profits go to Animal Planet

The Japanese boat was warned to get out of that area of water. By some government of whatever. And the Sea Shepherd warned the Japanese boat about this to get out or they would be arrested. They didn't answer or comply. So the sea Shepherd crew had no choice but to board their ship and give them a letter to get out. But of course The Japanese crew took it the wrong way and took them as hostages.

The Japanese boat was warned to get out of that area of water. By some government of whatever. And the Sea Shepherd warned the Japanese boat about this to get out or they would be arrested. They didn't answer or comply. So the sea Shepherd crew had no choice but to board their ship and give them a letter to get out. But of course The Japanese crew took it the wrong way and took them as hostages.
