  • stalin just invaded estonia from 1 dictator to another y wud the estonians be happy about a war memorial for another nationality in their country

  • This is so typical of all Ex-Soviet satellite states like Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia. All three are trying their best to erase any hint of their east european heritage and god forbid anyone mention that their ancestors called themselves russians!!! OH dear!! :P

  • "god forbid anyone mention that their ancestors called themselves russians!!!"

...They did huh? I guess you learn something new everyday. And Dutch called themselves Germans while they were occupied by Nazi-Germany, eh?

    Ignorant Dutch...

  • estonians weren't occupied by russia smartass..

    they were russia stupid...

  • Don't name-call, kid. Make you look ridiculous.

And when the hell were Estonians Russians? Just because they ruled here doesn't mean we were Russians. Our language, the way we look, our culture, even the way we think is completely different from the Russians. So HOW THE FUCK are we Russians or ever were ones?

  • The human rights situation in all 3 of the Baltic states only serves to confirm the absurd double standards of the EuroDisney Union as reflected in its shallow, hypocritical criticisms of non-EU states.

All 3 of the Baltic states are also US proxies , with the US threatening to put missile bases in Lithuania as well as Poland.

  • hey dumbass,

the US isn't threatening to missle bases anywhere!!! it's called an international agreement!!

  • It is very popular to be a sheep on the russophobe vagon. So convinient.

  • Putin, eh? I thought Medvedev was in charge. I guess some things never change, like KGB. Your blind hatred for people that differ with Russia is astounding and disturbing. Perhaps you should have lived under the system...or died by it. I hear Siberia is very nice in the winter...

This clip proves that Russia is influencing the near abroad. Russian speakers are there because the Soviet Union attempted to Russify a foreign country. Russia and it's history do not belong in Estonia.

  • lol. you are not aware of the history of your own country or just trying to avoid going deeper into the history. as far as i know, estonia was part of russia for centuries. it was called differently, i just do not remember exactly. maybe Estland? or something like that. from time to time other countries took the reign over the region from russia such as sweden, germany. in fact, ests as a nation and future state has formed in russian empire, under its umbrella. is it true?

  • The people of what is now known as Estonia did not a chose to become subjects of the Russian yoke. They were forced by violence from the Russians (or other ethnic group) to serve as a vassal nation. Unfortunately, even if this was going on for centuries, it still does not negate people's right to self-determination.

  • please, just answer me the question if ests as a nation has formed under umbrella of russian empire or not?

  • Perhaps the borders were drawn by Russian imperialists, but the people were there before the borders were. Even if it wasn't known as Estonia for centuries, the Estonians were there.

Russia did not create Estonians. That's hogwash.

  • you are trying to escape answering my question. future estonians were taken into russian state by force and in competition with sweeds and german knights. there were no estonians at that time. as far as i know, there were a few different tribes of finnish-ugor origin. so, formation of estonian nation of those tribes, development of its sel-identification and a culture, etc have happened in russian empire. of course, estonians did it all, not russians. but under protection of Russia.

  • Protection from who? Are you suggesting that without Russian occupiers, Estonia would not be a country, but a collective of tribes?

  • from whom? from those who owned you for many years: swedes, germans. were they gratious and polite to ests at that time? hahahah!

  • true, afther notrhet war 1700-1721

But know the war in 1918-1920 alsou.

  • 1918-1920? there was no real war, as far as i know.

  • I do not really understand why russian speaking people are discriminated in Estonia. With russian speaking population amassing up to some 30% russian language should be in fact the second state language. At least, it would be a case in any european civilized country. So, possibly Estonia is not civilized enough and definitely russians are too patient and inactive. They should fight for their rights.

  • Problem is, Russians aren't native people here. They're immigrants who came here during the occupation.

By your logic, Germany should adapt Turkish as a second language as well. Sweden - Iraqi, Ireland&UK - Polish etc. The immigrants need to learn the LOCAL NATIVE LANGUAGE, not the other way around.

  • Russians are 35% in Estonia, and russians live here for the centuries, that's the different. Estonians are nacists, that's fact=) I don't talking about all people in Estonia, but I'm talking about estonian government, it's criminal.. same as russian government

  • you are shuffling history facts. by your logic, whole America should speak indian languages because only indians are narive american people, all the rest - immigrants. comparison to Germany and turks is not correct. Russians, more exactly non-estonians, moved in Estonia when it was a part of whole country USSR. so, they are not immigrants. that's really your luck they are patient. otherwise, you would already get much troubles for the discrimination.

  • Hmm well is germany civilized enough or Denmark is pretty civilized isnt it?

but why dont they have turkish as a 2nd lang. in germany . or in denmark arabic.

  • see my post to WaiSech.

  • The man at 1m:45s makes a very good point.

  • Lithuania Latvia and Estonia, tree biggest ass kissers of the usa. Fucking sellouts. In lithuania we have a president who as teenager went into germany as soon as war started, and after war was over, went to amerca, where lived for decades. And then boom! he is a president, on his 2 term. Over 80 years old, and afraid of Russia. Thats our leader.

  • Its good to hear a normal Lithuanian in youtube!
