I like Tiffany's version much better. It has more feeling. don't get me wrong I think Carrie did great and I love her vioce and music. was even lucky enough to get to meet her once a few years back she is awesome. the good thing is I can like both versions and really don't have to pick because I would gladly listen to both versions
For me- all these people that say her and kelly were the greatest winners- i actually believe despite kelly being the most successful in numbers- but she was around for years before carrie and fantasia- who i believe has the second best winners voice. Carrie and Fantasia
It's not even truly Tiffany's song. Listen to the version by the original writer, Lois Blaisch, on her MySpace. Seriously. I think Tiffany did a beautiful job in trying to capture the sentiment of it, but until you hear the original sung by Blaisch ... there's just no contest in terms of power and raw emotion.
Underwood did a lovely rendition, however you slice it. I love how she goes up on 'air'. I do that, too. Just seems right to me.

Tiffany did it much better. She performed it live as well, and her voice was brilliant and soft.
Carrie failed some notes, I can really hear it.
Tiffany, despite being a "has been", will forever be in a history of music as original teen pop princess (alongside with Debbie Gibson). Carrie won't be remembered on her own, she will forever be an "American Idol" reality star, which is not so cool.
That was such an idiotic comment. This girl has such a wonderful voice and she is such a sweet person. To say she won't be remembered on her own . . . well I think her album sales beg to differ on that.
The fact is that American Idol gave her a start in the music business, but in no way ensured her a long career. She has managed to prolong her career by having genuine talent and proving that during every live performance. I personally don't feel that there was any need for you to put Carrie down to begin with. If you like Tiffany better, fine. Nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't mean Carrie is not talented.

Nice performance, 2 bad she was outof rythm more then once. She was trying to hard concentrating on her voice and forgot to feel the music.

not many people have what carrie has
some people just cant captivate an audience and command a stage like carrie.
and i think thats right because look at the past winners of the show,
only kelly and carrie were superstars.

WOW! Carrie was incredible! She's like the role model of all... she's so God-fearing, dedicated to her work, humble, graduated in college as a magna cum laude,etc... In fact, she's only the celebrity I know of, that don't have any stupid things to do/did in past!

To iamtheluckyone why can't Carrie be someone to look up to people look up to people all the time that they have never met. Look at how many people look up to NFL players,NBA players and so on and so on. Carrie is a very good person and derserves what she as become a music superstar that has kept her small town all american girl charm. She has stayed grounded not let all her success go to her head.

I like people that work together to like each other. Paula always confuses me because sometimes she'll be friendly to Carrie and then other times, like here, she's serious and it comes across like there's something going on behind the scenes. I know she didn't like Jessica Sierra and Jessica wanted to beat Carrie up because she was jealous but I want to know that Paula actually likes her. haha Random rambling ... LOVE this performance and can't wait for Nov. 3rd to get Carrie's new cd!!

Tiffany did it much better. She performed it live as well, and her voice was brilliant and soft.
Carrie failed some notes, I can really hear it.
Tiffany, despite being a "has been", will forever be in a history of music as original teen pop princess (alongside with Debbie Gibson). Carrie won't be remembered on her own, she will forever be an "American Idol" reality star, which is not so cool.

The fact is that American Idol gave her a start in the music business, but in no way ensured her a long career. She has managed to prolong her career by having genuine talent and proving that during every live performance. I personally don't feel that there was any need for you to put Carrie down to begin with. If you like Tiffany better, fine. Nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't mean Carrie is not talented.

People, people. Its a matter of what kind of music you like best and what type of singing you prefer.
All in all, I think Carrie Underwood is a very talented artist, but all of the other winners were as well, regardless of whether they have been more popular or not. They didn't win because they weren't good.
