WOW.... that thing is HUGE... and it looks like enough concrete that you could just have the block sitting on top of the ground, not in it.... (wink wink)
Construction was harder than video! But now...push one button and bands open up as best they can with zero sunspots. Current 80-foot high all-band dipole catches everybody I hear on any band.
The location that is FB and the cool crank up tower are really enviable.
I have a triangle tower made by the steel frame of 20m higher. As for a lot of noises, I am barely enough DX in a residential area. 73 FB DX de JA1USO
Tower is currently holding 130-foot long wire dipole at 80 feet high fed with 600-ohm ladder line. Antenna works FB on 8 HF bands: 80~10 metres. Still waiting for Steppir yagi to come....
Looks like you've had lots of changes, location & call at least. Did your 90f'er come with you? Did u ever get the Steppir? How about a brief update. I've got a possible hdx-72 purchase and very interested in these issues...:) 73
@jwhfla The dilemmas of life. This tower is in VE7; I am now in VE1! Should I try to relocate it 5800 km east? Should I sell it and buy a new one? No Steppir on it yet since I moved away. Can I sell you a brand new base fixture for HDX-72 (in storage in VE7)?
Yeah, life does have a habit of changing ou plans. Thanks for the offer of the base fixture. Do you mean the tower raising fixture? I'm not quite at th point of needing it, but I hope to be soon and will keep it in mind. Thanks & 73.
@jwhfla We must stay flexible! I mean the fixture that mounts in the concrete to provide the three points of connection for the tower to the ground. You can install this at any time and pour/cure concrete even before you order tower so when tower arrives, you're ready to lift tower off delivery truck and install tower at same time.
My goal this summer is to install a Steppir yagi at 100' and next priority will be to install some wire for 80m. Look for VE7WY on 80m SSB with his 4-square, long wire and amplifier.
You're right about the hole. In defence of digger, it was a difficult situation reaching downhill. Rather have too much concrete than too little. You're low on the concrete estimate. Hi.
I plan to edit video after Phase II. That will include addition of grounding plus Steppir yagi. Waiting for 3-trombone Steppir. The 282-foot delta loop at 90 feet high truly works like a beam antenna so I'm not suffering too much.

Very easy the life, you must say " Tank you ULTRABEAM".
Without Ultrabeam is impossible to make a rare dx like this.

Next time use a smaller bucket to dig out the hole - you ended up way to big on the hole and spent probably atleast $500 more on concrete.
Video is well done - it would have been nice to see antenna installs and a grounding system put in.
