i was at horizon academy for 19 months. i would never want anyone to go through that. its funny how they used "Heaven Forbid" as the song for this video. they used it in all the seminars we had to go through

And I think about it every other day when I go visit my physical therapist for injuries occurred from there to my lower back. (tree related)
I was lucky that I went to Cross creek. My staff was fine and I never was abused. These programs are not for everyone as I've seen a few of my friends be emotionally scared from these places.
I was at Spring Creek for 2 years!!! it was by far the worst exprience of my life not only was i physically abused but was mentally and emotionally abused by untrained staff who got off on being able to abuse kids that cant even stand up for themselves! Spring Creek is shut down, but there are still many more still running that need to be shut down! these programs are hurting kids not just physically but mentally.. and the effect of these programs can stick with you for years!!

This breaks my heart. I watch all these videos and can't help but comment. not every program is like this, i promise you. I feel for the kids who went through this, in fact i even look up to your strength. My mother owns a theraputic wilderness challenge for troubled teens and it is NOTHING like this video. I love it there personally. I visit whenever I can, and play with the animals... My fear is that her company will get a bad reputation for companies like this Which is seperate from hers
As long as NATSAP doesn't go out openly and criticize programs like WWASP and as long as they don't kick programs out where teenagers die as they do in some programs every year then you are right, All programs will be looked upon as bad and all the same.
there has to be programs out there that treat kids well but still work. i really think the abuse in unnescassary.
if you get them out of their bad environment for a year, teach them how to love, teach them how to cook, teach them how to surf! they will be better for it.

SPring Creek Really wasnt Bad i was there 21months n graduated, im thankful for all the people i met, I will Cherish them Forever!, and to b Honest believe it or not i Have some Pretty Good Fun Memories there, if i could i would go back and spend a week wit my ol Scl Fam, U take what ever u want outta certin experiences, So why not Focus on the Better times makes life more pleasureable!
i was in red river academy for a year and a half the first time, and then another six months for a second time, I GRADUATED THE FIRST TIME. These places are a JOKE. They violate HUMAN rights! something NEEDS to be done, or else for all you know, you could be sucked into this trap.
p.s. the computer lab was for school only. they only had a schooling program on the computers no internet or anything like that. we were in there for 5 hours a day 6 days a week. on sundays we would clean all day instead. the tvs were for watching videos telling you drugs are bad which we had to watch for an hour every night which is when i learned other drugs arent as scary as i thought preprogram
all of this is from darrington academy except the clips with the officers. idk what the other guy is talking about. i was there for 16 months and graduated the program. after i graduated i was really depressed and lonely (my life contract forbid me to use the internet and find other people from darrington). before the program i only smoked weed, since getting out ive tried ecstasy, cocaine, heroin, morphine, vicodin and a couple of other things. thanks darrington

the computer lab was a facility built to replace the old dining hall and make them look good
but when it cuts to the cop looking assholes thats a program down south in missori i believe
