  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS SONG??

  • sorry i thought this was a California comercial :/

  • I was just in BC over the weekend and British Columbia is THE most BEAUTIFUL place I have EVER BEEN to. Ive been almost everywhere along the US-CA border and It truely is a slice of heaven

  • 403 people havent bin to british columbia

  • I've never been to Canada, but I want to visit someday!

  • 0:06 That's what she said.

  • Whats the song name?

  • I love this commercial. BEAUTIFUL!

  • Outdoor Adventures Whistler - they are under investigation for the brutal murder of 100 sled dogs in April 2010, after the Olympics. Go see facebook page: Boycott Outdoor Adventures Whistler, just put that in the search box. Please support this group. You can find other sled dog companies in BC, just don't use this business.

  • We call it............I also call it ...................home. I live on the Prairie's now but plan on coming home soon. It has all I want and need, unlike this place.

  • @Vegas4you1 I'm not even going to bother explaining why your post is ridiculous. Once I read that you hate Canada because we went to Iraq to destroy and kill innocent people.. all credibility in your post was lost because we never ever went to Iraq. Your rant is full of lies.

  • @5raccoon The Asians have already taken over. Look at Richmond, BC. Cancel your travel plans to Hong Kong, you got HK right here in North America.

  • what's the name of that song? I just love it!

  • I've lived here my whole life, but this video is missing a few things like the drug dealers and the homeless people and the prostitution and the pollution and the traffic and the rain rain rain.

  • @drumdude123 Rain, why do they only show the sunny days? Rain more than 75% of the year, worse yet the gray skies that go with it! If they don't get the organized crime under control the drugs and prostitution will grow beyond their already epidemic proportions. Ask anyone there if they worry about getting their car stolen or broken into... my car was almost stolen within 30 days of moving to vancouver. I have and alarm and they still busted it all up trying to steal it.

  • Enter your text

  • i dont think i can watch this without bringing a tear to my eyes

  • @tiger1wild you really think we are over there to kill innocent people. we are over there spreading peace. and serisouly you need to learn to spell. and figure out why we are over there. i think when you were saying that you were talkin about maybe 1% of our population. we accept all religions and races over here. we hate nazi's not germans. we are apart of europe, and asians make of our stuff, and the french, is about of our herritage. we fight for freedom like every other country.

  • @tiger1wild and then theres canadians like me who fit a completely different stereotype check my videos to see what non asshole canadians do with their lives

  • wow

  • The intro, the music, the footage, the scene it all looks good, but honestly in real life its actually pretty damn boring ..

  • @GotChocolateMiIk Very boring, especially when your imagianation has been stunted

  • @5raccoon So are you saying there is absolutely nothing as bad as Hastings in western Europe? There are no drug addicts? There are no homeless? There's no recession? Are you saying western Europe is 100% glimmering? WOW. Every city has good and bad. Also what's wrong with nationalism? Especially in a country as divided in culture as Canada? I live in B.C. and I'm proud. Go ahead and call me arrogant. BTW you sound like the racist one. You spelled addicts wrong.

  • lmfao

  • Funny how we can spend a bunch of money on a boat load of Tamils but not on Canada's homeless.

  • @friendlynicholas More Tamils are planning an exodus to Vancouver!! That first round of 500 or so that docked in Victoria is only the beginning...

  • I'm American..but I love you too Canada! lol

  • BC is so overhyped and overrated. Look at these TourismBC posts, they show you all the pricey tourist attractions, but you see nothing of the city. 12% HST tax, inflated housing prices, and the chinese essentially own this province. Not to mention they don't show you the weather 8 months out of the year- overcast, gray, and perpetual rain. Can you say Seasonal Affective Disorder?

  • @thewun1

can you say tall glass of shut the he!! up?

  • WOWWIE!

  • British Columbia my home our home!!!! I love Canada so much!!!! ^^

  • I LOVE BC.......

  • That best place on earth slogan is so pretentious.

  • @friendlynicholas Agreed. Maybe a good slogan to get rich tourists there for the games. Now its over and the BC people are stuck with the bill. haha

  • Comment removed

  • Could be any mountain in kootneys. Maybe Robson.

  • where in BC is the clip at 0:58 seconds at?

  • @edwinnk That would be Vancouver.

  • @edwinnk: It's taken from the Granville Street Bridge near downtown Vancouver, looking west towards the Burrard Street Bridge and the Georgia Strait.

  • hey whats the songg?

  • I LOVE YOU CANADA!

  • I love Canada, eh.

  • GO CANADA!

  • Now we are getting somewhere. I agree the IOC is, for the most part, a corporation that has their sights set on money. But I do not believe the video above is promoting the Olympics as much as it is promoting the beautiful province of BC. I know there are attachments to the Olympics but that is not the goal of it, in my opinion.

Anyways, its been fun. It is late here and I have to get some sleep(not running away). =P

  • Yah, the athletes slave train daily to help fund the IOC. The Olympics are about more than just money to millions of people around the world.

And if you get a chance, take a tourism class....tourist dollars stimulate the entire local economy, not just certain companies. Many cities rely on tourism as one of their top industries. Nothing wrong with attempting to capitalize on a massive event such as the Olympics, in my opinion.

  • Honestly, I don't even know what we are talking about anymore. Yes, the video above uses the Olympics as leverage to promote BC, I really don't see an issue with that. And yes, there were some rediculous ticket prices..MOST of which were being sold privately on craigslist and such(so I have heard).

Many people won't be able to make the Olympics in London or Russia because they aren't rich. Should they not make video's promoting their countries or events?

  • My brother lives on the Island. He works at Subway. He was in Vancouver last weekend and attended an awards ceremony and the molson canadian hockey house. He told me it was one of the greatest experiences of his life. He waited hours for public transit and the ferry. It did not seem to hamper his experience at all as all I heard out of his mouth was excitement and pride. I guess it's all a matter of perspective. ;)

  • yeah but nobody cares what you and me think of bc:) I dont know if your just trollin or if you you are guenuinly as poor as you make it appear, But it might be your attitude that has put you in that position!, Enjoy life man!

  • LOL, Michael J Fox?

  • dude I live in a trailer park, underneath that winery, check out my videos, Im not wealthy,I can afford to go and have a 12 dollar lunch up there,

the wineries are no more expensive than eating at any non fast food joint. if you drink wine then go for it,I live cheap, but I dont lack anything,Its about choice, If you buy a house and car you cant afford then thats too bad, We live with in our means and can do the stuff in the ad.

  • However I will admit Im 32 3 kids and have spent 10 years establishing our selves, When I was 20 I couldnt afford anything, here or an ab, and I was workin lots!.

Lots of people cant afford stuff, because they party too much, and spend on the wrong things!

  • So by saying only rich people enjoy BC, you are talking about the Olympics? This video has been put out by Tourism BC and will be used long after the Olympics are over. Other than using some of the popularity of the Olympics to boost it's message, it's sole purpose is to promote how beautiful BC is.

  • Yup, only in BC is the carbon footprint and public transit an issue. Don't ever visit BC people, it will take you forever to get where you want go and the air is not breathable. Everything in this advertisement is a lie, only rich people can enjoy BC.

    /sarcasm

  • haha your hilarious

  • @pimpcurtly That is the truth BC = Bring Cash. Not to mention the 12% Harmonized Sales Tax. Alberta and Ontario get their Medical Services Plan free, too. But no, BC has to charge you for it monthly.

  • you have to afford all this stuff first

  • OK. I guess because my opinion differs from yours, I am being snarky and ingnoring the real issues[/sarcasm]. Your issues are not my issues. I don't feel the commercial above is misleading. If you take it upon yourself to enjoy all BC has to offer, you will not be disappointed. If you dwell on issues that are present everywhere, of course your quality of life will be crappy.

I'm also glad to know that I wil never be lowered to your level. I am way above that insulting crap =)

  • @a1getright I'd have to say Australia gives Canada a run for its money in that department.

  • Micheal J. Fox! Woot!

  • It's getting so bad that alot of Immigrants are leaving the country.

  • little boy? How mature. Here I thought we were having a respectable discussion but you've now resorted to petty insults. Ironic that you are obviously the one who needs to grow up. But whatever makes you feel like a bigger person, right? =)

  • looks like shit to be honest.

  • I live in BC, its okay, not as great as this video shows it though.

  • i agree, i live in bc and it is totaly not like the video.

  • Yup, you keep on honorably fighting the man. Let me know how it works out.

Ill be here enjoying every minute of this short time we are given on this planet. =)

  • The game is about to begin so I really don't want to debate with you. But I am not stuck on the IOC surplus or overpaid actors. It is not like that is something reserved for BC. Corrupt corporate/individual money makers are ALL OVER THE PLANET. It's a fact of life where ever you go. It sucks but it is true. Don't try to exclusively paint BC with a brush that can be used the world round. Your argument is just silly.

Anyways, enjoy the game...GO CANADA GO! =D

  • I live in Manitoba and want to move to BC but is it really a hard city to live in? Like is it super expensive

  • I was an average person. And I some of those images are my favorite memories from living there. I am not standing up for the selfishly rich, I am telling it like it was for me....the average hard working Canadian that loved every minute of living in Beautiful British Columbia. And I will go back when it is time to retire because there is no better place to end my time on this earth. =)

  • I didn't say it was jealousy, I said it comes across as jealousy. Not sure why you have guns a blazing here. You must be a naturally angry person. When I lived there, I also lived cheque to cheque. It was a struggle to make ends meet, but I have the same issues in Ontario. Yet, I still managed to love it. Walking the kilomteres of park and beach is free, sunsets are free, fishing is free($35 annual oh no). Stop clouding people's opinions with everyday issues that plague us all, everywhere.

  • Better than Ontario.

It might be expensive there but it's expensive in Ontario too since there are no jobs and the jobs that exist pay very little. Hence, relatively Ontario is hurting.

  • you guys are havin it tough out there, Sorry to hear that man!, We are in a bit of a bubble in BC thankfully, Hope things turn around there soon

  • dont let words bring u down

  • I am quite surprised to see all the hate. It comes across as jealousy. Sure, BC is not perfect, but there are very few utopian paradises on earth. As far as I am concerned, it is definately one of the best places on earth to be. When I lived there, I didn't make a lot of money, but I was still able to take in a lot of what it had to offer. Excellent fishing, amazing skiing and some of the best trails, landcapes and sunsets you will ever see. Stop the hate, enjoy life people. =)

  • beautiful british columbia

  • The only true British Columbian in this ad is Ryan Reynolds (born and raised), everyone else was just passing through.

Kim Cattrall was born in London UK and spent only a few years in Vancouver, then moved to Tornoto for her acting career.

Steve Nash is from South Africa

    Eric McCormack is from Toronto

Sarah McLachlan is from Halifax, then again she was adopted....so who knows.

MIchael J Fox only moved to Burnaby for a few years of High school before moving to LA.

  • What does all that have to do with anything? All of them have homes in BC now and call it home. I didn't see anywhere in the video where they said they were born and raised in Vancouver. =S

  • I <3 B.C glad i live here not to mention we got some "special" plants that grow here that are world famous :P

  • Van Wilder!!

  • dude can't u just apprieciate the earth for what it is and stop spazing?

  • I won't consider B.C. beautiful. I pick city to city, not a province.

  • @warlockskz you don't consider everything you saw (scenery) in that video beautiful?

  • Haha. Yup. Have you ever heard the saying, B.C. stands for bring cash??? That's my brothers moto up there!

  • Lived and been all over the world. West Coast of BC is the best place on earth. I will retire and die on the Island. You gotta be there.

  • nearly every big city in the world is drug infested

  • any small town has the same drug issues, cities just have more places to live....when you feel the need to move from your small town:)

  • why can only rich people do that stuff? rich people can do all of it, but set your priorities, there was nothing in that video that was too expensive for people to afford and since when did it cost money to just enjoy the out doors? or go to a beach? people who complain about being bored in bc would be board anywhere:)

  • cause you cant get a ride:)

  • i live here, Im not rich. and I still enjoy my life,Im not missing out on anything!

  • coz you have squirrel aids

  • BC is gorgeous (I've been there twice in four years) but lemme tell you, if they would feature Nellie Furtado in that dress she wore for the Opening Ceremonies, tourism would spike big time! :-)

  • the best place on earth

  • nicest quality ivv ever seen in my life

  • ok get it out ur pants chris

  • Las Vegas is better.

  • if i wasnt living in a place as amazing as colorado, i would be in canada. lol

  • I wanna be there sometimes but I can't cuz it takes bunch of money.

  • Canada rules.

  • Michael J Fox had me convinced

  • thank you for contributing your time to watch this commercial. it truly is the most beautiful place on earth.

  • 太美了!!!

  • wow

  • cool

  • that's cool to be there

  • wow, this is so ironic, since the olympics have expanded upon native land and created more pollution etc.

  • amazing

  • bich hawa

  • O:33 to O:36

  • goosebumps..

    WOW!!! How WONDERFUL!!!!

  • :) Awesome

  • fake...

  • @rey1164

    ?

  • and gay:)

  • the last place id go to in my life is Canada

  • @sf49ersrule Why the hell wouldn't you want to visit Canada? It's gorgeous--as seen in this video!

  • You're stupid and ignorant. Canadians are some of the friendliest and happiest people on Earth--much more so than us Americans.

  • @sf49ersrule the first place i'd go to in my life is canada. it is very beautiful and canadians are very polite.

  • I loved BC when I went up there, it's so beautiful!!!

  • id love to visit that place to see the nature

  • i can think of a Better Place to be' but its too Bad that theres no Way that anybody on Earth can Get there :-(

  • @ogithreturns why wouldn't anyone on earth be able to get there?

  • Because its in the Dark Ages' Thats Why :-(

  • whatever.

  • where r u getting these racial discrimination thoughts from? The commercial features white people because it is their hometown, and they're welcoming you into it. You can also have class, if you aren't a "rich white person". But if you're an idiot then you don't know that black, latinos, and asians are scarce in Canada. If a tourism commercial like this was for America, the creators would have to go out of their way to make the commercial racially diverse. It's ridiculous and really unfortunate

  • No Olympics on Stolen Native Land!!!

  • @Ganxiba omfg shut up

  • that place is amazing!!!its so nature-filled and mountians, a great place for skiing, i'd kill to go there ;)

  • I thought Sarah Mclauglan is from Nova Scotia?? (sorry if I spelled it wrong)

  • I would love to visit British Columbia one day! The video and the place is amazing!

  • Wow I really wish to go to British Columbia and Vancouver, I is soooooooo beautiful and sooooo exciting to visit there!!!!

  • You moron, them being white is just coincidence! They all grew up here!! What makes for a good commercial, a bunch of nobody's, or the world's famous!?

  • Duhh, Geez, silly me. Guess this is the one and only type of promotional program that they could have run. It is all about who they are SELLING tourism in BC to as well as how they represent the province and its landscape. I only see rich, white people speaking and representing the population of this province in the commercial. It is not a coincidence, and it speaks to the elite racist undertones of our province and country where to be privileged is to be white (and rich).

  • idk yukonchase man, those Asians looked like they were having a blast

  • Vancouver was again voted as the most liveable city in the world. However it is also the most un-affordable city in North America when it comes to housing. Oh well, you can't have it all..

  • I haven't been to Manitoba and I can only speak for Vancouver. Scale of 1 to 10 I would rate Vancouver's roads at 6.5, but they are still improving, especially in preparation for the olympics. Sea-to-sky highway to Whistler is now fantastic after the upgrade. Freeways are not that great, especially compare to the ones south of the border.

  • There are some but not a lot of them, though. Mostly limited to tradespeople and gardeners. With the price of gasoline so much higher here than elsewhere in N. America, it makes sense, too, to have just a few of them around. I hope this helps.

  • They're not lying, it really is amazing, and you should be there. I love Tofino beach. I was in Vancouver for the Olympics 2 days ago, best place in the world. There is so much to do there, like taking a bike ride through stanley park, going on the seabus, watching Olympics, shopping on robson street, going to the aquarium and so much more. I wish I could live there. It is a really beautiful city, mountains in the background and Ocean. It looks like a glass city, with all the glass buildings.T_T

  • Sooooooooper !

  • well like the video says YOU GOTTA BE HERE. What do u think that means look at a picture watch a you tube video or a movie YOU GOTTA BE HERE 2 c it and believe it for your self

  • WOW!! BC is outta this world. Ryan Reynolds was hawt too. lmao. I actually have not been watching the olympics. And I live in Seattle. XD

  • I love British Columbia. SO DANG BREATHTAKING. it's Ryan Reynolds!!!

    Vancouver ftw.

  • @bomberfun1

LOL!!! Chinacouver. That's hilarious, and for those who put a thumb down for this comment, get a sense of humour!!! If you have interpreted this as racism, you take life WAY too seriously!

  • people are way to sensitive, there have been chinese in vancouver since before canada was a country, They build the railroads, and keep our autobody guys busy:)

    Just kidding guys..You're good drivers:)

  • Who's featured at 0:29?

  • BC is beautiful but only if you enjoy being outdoors a lot, either camping or skiing/snowboarding/snowshoeing or all the other outdoorsy things people can do here. Yea it's great for that, but there's not much else to do for those non-outdoorsy people, even in the city. There's only so much fun to be had in Vancouver until you get bored. There's not a lot of live music venues here with affordable live music or live shows, there's not a lot here that's $10 or less admission which sucks.

  • i live here either and i feel boring especialy in the winter Vancouver is dead .... may be summer is better

  • i live in vancouver.

  • this Toronto, Vancouver argument is so typical of Canadians, as an Ontarian resident let me say, Ontario has nothing on BC. the only reason people choose Ontario over BC is because of Jobs, cheap housing "not really", English speaking unlike Quebec and the fact Toronto is on lake Ontario.

  • GODS Country!!!! Vancouver Island is the most beautiful place on Earth!!!!!

  • Yay, BC! :D

I live in Vancouver, but my dad and I often go camping all over the place. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been to was Levet lake. It's like a little crystal drop placed around a huge wall of glaciers and sky.

    Ahhh... I can't wait for summer :3

  • @serifinia ... i like Capilano lake at least is still inside Vancouver :)

  • Looks pretty cool
