The Vocaloids that come before and after her maybe better but Miku's job is already finished. Maybe you should but, to form an opinion, one must read other people's opinion. Actually, Vocaloids have the greatest potential if people exploit their advantages. I appreciate the lesser known Vocaloids because I think they have the greatest amount of unexplored talent there is. It doesn't mean that I don't root for the others, it's just that the others need some screen time themselves. But that's only an opinion. Be objective on the reasons why you like something.

@CwazyFool Shu-tP has a whole bunch of albums on iTunes and Amazon. I had to buy one because it was so full of awesome like this. I got "Various Feelings" first and I loved every track on it. For other tracks like this, you might try "Cradle of Destiny."

She has a beautiful voice, Especially when it comes to her singing jazz. Shes almost the only vocaloid equipt with the voice range able to sing a wide variety of genres other vocaloids are eaither too high or too low to sing. He voice is inbetween, not like squeeling or shrieking, or wretched sounding low notes, just beautiful. ^-^

She is my favorite. she has a way better voice than the other ones. it's not like i hate them though. i like them. the first song i ever heard from a vocaloid was kokoro by Ren. i really liked it. But then I found a song called Noise by a vocaloid called meiko and that's when i really fell in love with vocaloid.
@akitaneru101 you're pretty much right, she's getting append voice banks which is basically an upgrade of her voice (Luka and Kaito are getting them too), but you can still use her original voice :3 I'm really excited about what she'll sound like :D
Meiko is only unpopular because her voice is difficult to use without pitch correction programs and a lot of processing and editing. Also the interface of Vocaloid1 is different to later versions. Taking this into consideration you have to admit she tends to sound extremely drunk when being programmed by someone who has no clue what they're doing--hence many of the youtube covers you know and love...
I love it when Meiko is used for the right genre by the right producers. The majority of people need to learn that, unlike Miku, she was not made for a pop style, and that trying to use her for it can end in disaster. Shu-tP is officially the god of VOCALOID1.
The majority don't prefer Meiko because she looks like your usual Japanese Popstar and less anime fantasy style. You can image someone in real life with Meiko's features... I'm actually a Luka fan. ^_^;

But I really don't like MEIKO... There's really nothing elegant or beautiful about her VOCALOID voice.

@LeonDQ8 I agree tremendously.
She has a beautiful voice, Especially when it comes to her singing jazz. Shes almost the only vocaloid equipt with the voice range able to sing a wide variety of genres other vocaloids are eaither too high or too low to sing. He voice is inbetween, not like squeeling or shrieking, or wretched sounding low notes, just beautiful. ^-^

@georgilo1997 LEON and LOLA were the first in VOCALOID1 and Sweet Ann was the first in Vocaloid2. MEIKO was the first japanese Vocaloid of Vocaloid1 and Miku was the first japanese Vocaloid in Vocaloid2

She is my favorite. she has a way better voice than the other ones. it's not like i hate them though. i like them. the first song i ever heard from a vocaloid was kokoro by Ren. i really liked it. But then I found a song called Noise by a vocaloid called meiko and that's when i really fell in love with vocaloid.

@akitaneru101 you're pretty much right, she's getting append voice banks which is basically an upgrade of her voice (Luka and Kaito are getting them too), but you can still use her original voice :3 I'm really excited about what she'll sound like :D

Meiko is only unpopular because her voice is difficult to use without pitch correction programs and a lot of processing and editing. Also the interface of Vocaloid1 is different to later versions. Taking this into consideration you have to admit she tends to sound extremely drunk when being programmed by someone who has no clue what they're doing--hence many of the youtube covers you know and love...

I love it when Meiko is used for the right genre by the right producers. The majority of people need to learn that, unlike Miku, she was not made for a pop style, and that trying to use her for it can end in disaster. Shu-tP is officially the god of VOCALOID1.

The majority don't prefer Meiko because she looks like your usual Japanese Popstar and less anime fantasy style. You can image someone in real life with Meiko's features... I'm actually a Luka fan. ^_^;
