Is it really true that the screen won't go into horizontal mode unless you pull out the keyboard? If so, that is TRULY f'ed up! Please lemme know. Btw, great video. :)

@ayokay123 No that's not true. If your on a homescreen then yes, it only goes landscape when you open the keyboard. But in any application (including the web browser) it will go landscape when you turn the phone.

@MegaMzryo Blah, that phone is a fingerprint magnet. The entire thing is a cheap, glossy plastic, so it looks dirty all the time. Just go for the MT 4G, or better yet the HTC Sensation

glad u said that about the vibrant i heard it was a bad phone but didnt believe it, the g2 looks like a solid phone but im a windows mobile phone hd2 best phone i ever had but i think i will getting a g2 also

I know how ya feel brotha. "I need this phone" too man. I just started lookin at smartphones though. Ate a lot of info in a short time looking for the right one. I'm with T-Mobile now but I was going to switch to Sprint for the Palm Pre. (can get a corporate discount) But I am so glad Jose at T-mobile hooked me up to keep me with them. Going to get two of these for $150 and only $99 a month for unlimited text/data and they're letting me keep my Faves and T-mobile to T-mobile... I'm Subscribing.

looking thru evolutions now, still hanging on to my g1 until the phone season calms down. really interested in what you think about all the new devices coming out. i am not techie at all but have tried to root my phone. it worked but i am kindof stuck with that, wanted to get froyo on the phone but am stuck before i even got the rom from cynogen. anyway subscribed and will be watching for anything news.

Viberant isn't a bad phone, it's just that the gps and imo touch wiz is garbage (ios clone skin on android). I too caved in and ordered my g2 online last night. I'm on even more plus, and I opted out for the option too pay for it upfront on my next billing cycle (540 something after taxes). Though you can pay 70 upfront, then 25 each month... but that pretty much defeats the purpose of em+. Hopefully the speed increase, better cpu / gpu will be worth the money (my current phone is a nexus one).

Well hey i'd like to say that im on the bandwagon, and all for it. I look forward to seeing more from you. And im 100% behind you on the whole contract deal, thats why im with T-Mobile... with a MyTouch cant wait to get rid of it for this G2(even after rooting it)

....which i do appreciate but if i cant get Cyanogen roms on this to me its not worth it....by the way have you tried applying the gps files from the J12 rom? it works for me and havent experienced any problems with my gps so far....I NEED THAT G2!!! lol

@jpone7 I sold my Vibrant about 2 1/2 weeks ago so I haven't tried any of the newer roms out. No CM6 support after launch was a huge disappointment to me as well; I don't like flashing random roms onto my phone unless it's someone respected like cyanogen. I actually used one rom that fixed the GPS but it was still very slow, took like 30 seconds to get a lock. My MyTouch Slide got a lock within 5 seconds!

Hmmm that sounds like an iPhone to me, lmao j/k...ut i totally feel what you mean. i have mine with lagfix but no overclocking since i feel the need for it to be faster than it is...my only gripe with this phone is the software is always too unstable. i never had a problem with my old nexus but now i cant install setcpu cause of random crashes that result in battery pulls. The only developer supporting this phone in the xda community seems to only be Eugene373

i appreciate your honesty, i'll subscribe.....i too have a Samsung Vibrant and although i do love it (mainly cause i hack the shit out of it) i need the G2 and will be selling my Vibrant for that G2

@jpone7 Appreciate it man. I rooted my Vibrant as well. Installed multiple lagfixes, overclocked to 1.2Ghz, and some custom roms. Nothing really solved the GPS issues or made the phone feel as powerful as it really is. It's funny how you can have the most powerful phone on the market but it feels like a toy.
