I think this is an extremely sensitive horse that goes out of his way to please- if you watch closely you will see that she spured him and he was startled and confused. Too strong a rider might explain why in Holland Krack C is the horse that Anky only rides once a year
did you say this is an AWFUL ride? uhhh...can you do it? thats freakin ANKY! she doesnt have an AWFUL ride. the horse spooked...if you rode...and/or knew horses youd know thats what they do on occassion.
I can't remember what the title is, but Anky has her keurs written specially for her - two of the others are Bonfire's Symphony and her James Bond Keur. Anybody know what this one is?
Well back to Anky van Grunsven, I love her she is such a great dressage rider & she rides my fav. dressage horse of all time (Solero). Even though the horse spooked she handled it very well.
that fence is insane!!! did you actually get to see it jumped or is it just a prop?? by the way, anky and crack c, of ocurse were brilliant even with that tiny spook.
The fences were set up for the Atco six-bar, where they try to see who gets the height record over six jumps. Yes we got to see it - they did the six-bar competition right before Anky!
Anky is supposed to be coming back for this year's Masters. BTW the fence you see behind her is 2m12cm or about 7'6". I was so happy I was at the edge of the field when she did this (I'm standing beside the little abulance cart in the background)and it was AMAZING!
wow i was there for that too and wow did it ever take my breath away how she made it look so effort less, she was really nice cause i got to meet her and when she gave the dressage lesson to the crowd it was relly cool i got lots of good pictures of herr :)
I have always heard (and seen) how keen Anky is on making sure the horse moves EXACTLY with the music. So I found it rather fitting that at 2:00, when her mount has a tiff about what she's asking, that his fit is almost exactly in time with the music. It fits well. Made me laugh, anyway.
I used to work at Spruce Meadows for a few years. The International ring has made many very experienced and seasoned horses spook, sometimes with humourus or scary results. The the most funny was when a Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman harmlessly fell off after his horse spooked. The horse completed the rest of the complicated drills and menouvers riderless!
I was at Spruce Meadows for the Evening of the Horse with Anky and this horse was amazing. I have the privilege of living across the hiway from Spruce and I volunteer at SM during the tournaments. I have had the opportunity to meet Anky face to face and she is so very nice. while at Spruce she also gave a "lesson" in dressage to the crowds that were watching and she has an extremely great sense of humour. She's a wonderful ambassador for the sport.
lmao! okay yeah no anky is riding krack c, i do believe. and he is definetely NOT inexperienced! he's a grand prix level stallion. he won the grand prix freestyle like two years before this video...
amazing. seems the horse seems a bit inexperienced however, it took a few seconds to interpret the cues and the transititions between movements weren't too smooth. but still, it's a gorgeous horse and has lovely floaty movement. and it's been trained by the best, of course ^__^
lol, truly that made me laugh out loud. This is a highly trained dressage horse preforming in front of a huge loud crowd in a jumping field. I thought the transitions were smooth and effortless, to call this horse inexperienced is a complete joke.
she is absolutely fabulous, i want to ride like that too, but my horse has to learn it first.. and i have to do that too... :P.. but she does come from the etherlands, just like me!
I don't really like Anky's training methods but I still think she's an awesome rider! I was watching that night.... I go to spruce meadows all the time:)
I don't like Anky that much. I must admit that she has wonderful freestyles and such but I don't like the fact of rollkur and her training. I prefer the classical training.
lol i love how when he spooks he like is still going to the beat of the music still
