@NYDEUCE4EVER YOUR MISTAKE. That tool was the HURST CUTTERS and not the SPREADERS. If you are inexperienced or a complete idiot and not heads up, you could pin yourself against the vehicle or an object. You can't keep the spreaders from applying force in a direction "it wants to move." Everybody has to be heads up.
@NYDEUCE4EVER By the way I don't think you are a Fireman or part of a team that performs any sort of extrication whatsoever. I think I know why you thought you saw the "Jaws". Your head is so far up your Ass you can't see anything DipSXXit!!!!! Get a clue....
Good questions. If you look closely at 1:40 you will see "step block" cribbing in place, passenger side rocker. The car was up against the tree, preventing forward movement. Chock blocks were placed behind the rear wheels to prevent the car from moving back. The car was also on level ground. In addition to be chocked and on level ground, the front tire was flat.
The windshield was "folded over" onto the roof because the windshield was still "attached" to the roof/hood (although the windshield was shattered). Eventually, the roof would be "carted away to a parts dump" along with the auto.
good vid well done just a couple questions. why was the car tyre chocked how it was behind the wheel and the car body itself not chocked to prevent body roll from the suspension using blocks and a wedge? why was the roof folded over like it was and crashed on the hood instead of carted away to a parts dump?
big mistake... never get between the vehicle and the jaws. You could pin yourself (in film at 2:20)
