Did you notice a big change with on road driving after removing the sway bar? I've contemplated it for the better travel, but dont wanna roll over trying to leave Subway drivethrough
Damn thats some articulation... If nothing else, our "american" buying friends dont have. lol, I've never seen a Chevy Avalanche on any of the trails I've been through... Infact, never seen one with more than road grime on it... I am curious about the locker mod. In the details you mentioned some mods, but do you mean your just using the stock electronic locking rear diff, and stock 4Lo or have you changed up some gearing? I've got the 06 TRD sport and i wish I had locking Diff.

Chevy wouldn't "snap like a twig" nor will any other work truck "modded" for off road come on honestly i have a Chevy avalanche i "modded" it for off road i could everywhere that little Tacoma could.
yet again i am gunna say "Modded" thats not stock... a stock jeep a with a 3.8-liter V6 could easily beat that and it the fact that this "Modded" 4.0-liter V6 Tacoma isnt that special that to be deamed that chevy sucks or any other brand for that matter oh and im not saying that little truck couldn't go anywhere my truck could it would be sad if it couldnt...
@riseaway777 Doubtful, Jeeps are great machines, but stock is still slang for suck... And a Jeep is not the end all of off road rigs. I wheel with a buddy that has a 03 Wrangler on 33" MTs and I make it through spots his Jeep wont, on the flip side, he's pulled me off a high spot more than once cause my clearance is less than his. check my vids... coming out of the deep hole... Jeep didnt make it, and the Mighty Dodge refused to try it.
shit man, i love all kinds of trucks, If i had the money i would get a Toyota because everyone that i know that has one beats the crap out of them and they take it. That's a nice truck.
i live in gatineau qc in canada and the wheater we have here is not to good, but with that truck theres nothing to it :) . highly recommend the v6 trd
i have me a tacoma 06 v6- highly recom to buy bro. best shit that eat shit- on the track or off the track, smooth all the way. fck american trucks dude theyre for girls and fags.
Yeah man, I've got a 07 Tacoma too and after being into fords and chevys, they're nothing compared to these real trucks called toyotas. And plus, they're more american because theyre build in the US while the others are mad ein mexico, canada or so.
Toyota is the best right now for serious off roading
Did you notice a difference in power after the URD MAF calibrator? Cuz i've done a flowmaster and AEM intake on mine, and was considering one of these.
then I had donahoe coilovers and a 3 leaf AAL. I also removed the swaybar to get that much flex. I now have deaver 10 leaf's in the rear and lightracing jounce shocks, but I think a stock rig with a factory locker could make it through there.
wow.... can these trucks really do all this? I just bought a 2008 tacoma TRD and I am to scared to hurt it : ( I am new to Offroading they really can be pushed this hard?
DUDE! how could u be scared to hurt a yota.... that would b very diffucult to do.... theyve got some big ass fucking balls dude..... it aint gonna hurt it hahah.... let the truck go out and have some fun.lol hehe
Your dead on about being cramped inside... On new years eve I was in an S10 square body pickup, 3 people crammed in the front seat. It was tight. Later that night we all crammed in a brand new Tacoma. Holy crap that was even tighter!
yeah that would be sweet if the interior were a little more spacious...but remember back to trucks like the Toyota Pickup, and the Hi-Lux (very similar to the Pickup) cramped inside, but they were beasts off road...I wouldnt mind gettin a Hi-Lux...but i live in WI and the salty roads rust them too much
You should just bed liner the lower part of the body. Works great, and prevents rust, but true Toyotas rust. I got an 82 Hi-Lux short bed all original and in great condition because it lived in Nevada all its life. Great truck and the Tacomas are great too. There suspension is tough as nails for a stock truck.
yeah, im tryin to find a good old truck from the south where they dont need to salt the roads, here in WI everything rusts like crazy cuz the roads are so damn salty...id rather take my chances on ice. if i put it in the ditch so be it.
yah they are i owned a 90 toyota and a 87 both 4x4 5 speed stick and 4 cyl 2.2liteer the 87 and 90 a fuel infection one 2.4 liter bad ass offroaders slow accelration on highway but one best i ever got to drive offroading, sand and mud
yeah, Toyotas are great off road, because they are reliable, and very light so they dont sink as much in mud and sand. im debating whether to get a 4Runner or Pickup. im thinkin 4Runner cuz itl have more room for ppl and still good for any offroading i do
yah id say pick a 4runner, if u wanna carry friends or family for fun or anything, pickups are cool becuse you can load tall shit in bed and suck because of small cabin 4runner are sweet anyways
@JL157 Im 6'5" and dont have a problem driving my newer Tacoma... Even with tons of crap for camping piled up in the back seats... I'd be cramped if I weighed 300lbs... but Im more than comfortable in mine. ??
First off, Nice Taco. Secondly, Tacoma are probably some of the most capable trucks out there. I got '01 that just has the mud flaps off and mud terrains and does a great deal. It is a more capable vehicle than two of my three Jeeps.
@bulleTear Check out some of my vids, they CAN handle it, and will impress the hell out of you when you start to doubt them... Toyota is built pretty damn tough.
I realize your post is way old, have you taken yours off road at all? any mods?
@cmlesschwab Check out Sheep Rock Hill. Back side of Graf. Me and some Jeep guys hit up before we deployed, its like a gravel quarry or something. Google this though, Langenaltheim. It looks pretty badass...What Squadron you in?

does a turndown after the muffler make the sound more deeper by any chance?
