Why focuse on old MGS songs? MGS4 has plenty of awesome ones. I think the ending theme of MGS4 (Here's to you) would of been awesome.

the thing is, all mgs themes have that distinct melody in them, so I can see why u thought it was from mgs2, but this is the theme used for mgs1. Anyone could make that mistake, no biggie.

I think the fact of this music not being in SSBB had to do with some copyright issue that the theme faced.

That copyright issue was the reason this song wasn't the MGS4 main theme.

Because in 2006 i think, they demanded Konami for plagiarism on a song written by Georgy Sviridov called "The Winter Road", search it here on YouTube. Kojima agreed that song will never be used in a Metal Gear, that´s sad :(

well it actually seems to be pretty the same as encounter and as an MGS fan, i say Encounter is much better, why? Because i haven't heared this in MGS on PSX, and this was really the greatest MGS game, it started it all.

It was in the original MGS trailer. And it was remixed for MGS2 and 3. This theme is as much a part of Metal Gear Solid as Snake or Big Boss.

Too bad it was retired from the franchise. This is such a great theme.
