RIP steve Irwin the man was a legend he is surely missed in anyones opinion, i just dont understand how a man who's daily job was to deal with the worlds most dangerous animals then gets killed by the most placid of sea creatures CRAZY still such a shame
We would have a big problem if one of those got loose in usa. The natural habitat of these snakes lookes exactly like south texas image if a population would take hold there.
stevo seemed a lovely guy.I have thought at times that being in front of a camera .there was 3 famous snake wranglers, stevens, irwin and a english fellah with a red beard.stevo was by far the best.the south african guy nearly got it with a giant python and a cobra. the producers seem to want danger.these guys were unofficially fighting for top spot-the workplace is a competative place.
Saw his 13 year old daughter today feeding a croc meters from it, she def got her fathers balls, his 8 year old son was also in there, he I think will be the next Steve. Rip Steve, you were one crazy son of a bitch and I miss ya!!!!
I Miss him but he was just too relaxed with the Animals! I mean i would Never Grab this taipan and of course Not on the tail! It was a matter of Time but still RIP :'(
I've got to be honest, this guy really did seem to have an unusual need for danger. Just watch this clip again. How nuts does a person have to be to handle a Taipan like that? It could kill 100 people with one bite! I love the part at the end where he acts all relaxed and thinks the snake is calming down and claims it "knows" he means no harm. It's a snake for God's sake. They're reptiles with small brains. All it knows is your a pain in it's butt. I would never try something like this.
@helpforaddiction I most certainly think Steve had more knowledge about snakes than you´ll ever have, what exactly do you base your conclusion on anyway?
Honestly, I don´t see why there is need for such disrespect, people today are so fast judging others, whether if it is about how people look, what their interests/passion are or what professions they have.
Steve accomplished so much during his short life & seeing disrespectful people talking down on him, what´s that all about...?
@Phoenixasrisen Well, how many people on this planet do you think would want to go up to a wild Taipan and embrace it in such a way? A little dangerous don't you think? What comes after that, trying to help a wild lion with his tangled mane? The lion will understand right? Once he sees your brush, he'll know you mean him no harm. After all, lions know what combs are for. Oh wait a minute, that's humans. Those snakes, however, must "know" we mean them no harm. Their brains are so big and all.
@helpforaddiction His entire life has pretty much been dedicated to introduce wildlife in another angle than people had ever seen before, he had more experience than anyone ever had about wildlife, who are you to claim that you know better?
It has nothing to do with the size of their brains, it´s about instinct...
Size of the brains is also irrelevant in general, doesen´t matter if it is animals or humans, just take Albert Einstein, his brain was smaller than the average human... Sigh...
@Phoenixasrisen Steve had a lot of experience, but that doesn't make handling a venomous snake less dangerous. Possibly less likely to attack, but his experience did not make his body any more tolerant to the venom. I feel Steve must have got something out of handling animals the way he did that compelled him. I don't understand how someone can get comfortable with handling animals the way he did. Especially a poisonous snake in the wild that isn't used to human contact. That's really brave.
@helpforaddiction say what you want about how smart snakes are, but I can sure as hell guarantee that they know more about hunting mice that you ever will

Steve Irwin was a typical ocker shithead! this is very stressful for the animal. It is a shame he died but if you screw around with dangerous animals you are going to get killed.
He was about as much of an animal expert as Paul Hogan or Shane Warne.
@Danazawa No it's actually not if you watched his snake video's he handles them very well. He says "look how i hold him by the tail and not grab him by the neck because they have a sensitive backbone that can break easily". e also says"to keep part of him on the ground to relieve stress". BTW your a typical asshole.
@duckiesmayrule bit rough comment , deserving to die , but i suppose your right ,he did piss some creatures off ,the silly thing here was when he sat down he had nowhere to go if that snake had of flipped on him , i have seen many snakes here , i turn the other way , most people get killed trying to handle them or kill them ,i just leave them alone , dont forget where they are but , rip steve irwin , i almost got it the same way while diving
