I've got to be honest, this guy really did seem to have an unusual need for danger. Just watch this clip again. How nuts does a person have to be to handle a Taipan like that? It could kill 100 people with one bite! I love the part at the end where he acts all relaxed and thinks the snake is calming down and claims it "knows" he means no harm. It's a snake for God's sake. They're reptiles with small brains. All it knows is your a pain in it's butt. I would never try something like this.

Possibly less likely to attack, but his experience did not make his body any more tolerant to the venom. I feel Steve must have got something out of handling animals the way he did that compelled him. I don't understand how someone can get comfortable with handling animals the way he did. Especially a poisonous snake in the wild that isn't used to human contact. That's really brave.
