Ladies and Gentlemen, the Anime version of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds.

No offense to anyone who worked on it. It is a great concept- no one that I can think of has ever taken a good, long look at the world after end of the invasion, and how the Martian technology would affect human society. But what made me go off earlier is a simple question that SOMEBODY apparently overlooked:

Who would watch it?

It's things like this that make me question my spirituality, because I sometimes think that Satan is working on this and the other movies like it. I might change my mind if I saw it, but almost certainly not. In other words, WHO THE HELL CAME UP WITH THIS?!?!?!?!?!?

To be honest when people do WOTW films I wonder if they even read the book! The amount of awesome things that they ignore is incredible!

I can already tell the motive as to why the boy hates the martians so, it's in the trailer: As he is stuck for fear at the martian tripod walking towards him, it's gun buzzing and humming as it is preparing to strike, his father grabs it's attention and shots him, while his mother gets him out of the way.

Sad.

this sucks, in the book humans learn about the tripod mechanism and about the flying machine, but they had no clue about the heat ray and they use the heat ray in this one.

Hm, this looks really good, though i wish they used the tripods from Jeff Wayne's version (plus the music :P) seriously, you can't beat the Eve of The War track :p

They obviously weren't too bright, though (the aliens, that is)... I mean, they can cross deep space and build death rays, but they didn't think to check if there was anything deadly in our atmosphere?
