  • He is gorgeous, but to say that he is Autistic? How can you know for sure, the acts of a horse and a child are very different. I read his story on your website. But I don't understand why you think he is autistic and not just scarred?

  • poor sweet baby... he is so abused.. hes lucky he found you... dont ever put that baby down and dont leave him he needs you...euthanize!? why... hes beautiful... granted special but that doesnt mean that putting him down should be brought up... its like...

would you put down a autistic child? some people make me sick... one of my friends told me to put down my horse because he has bad manners... what do people think? that animals are just teddy bears? you dont want it throw it out!?

  • I have to agree with @Mikabuki16, there have been no scientific evidence of autism in animals. They have found it in mice AFTER their genes had been manipulated, which is a completely different thing. The horse's issues with touch, communication etc is a common effect of the seclusion and bad environment it lived it. Weird behavior would be if the horse was all peachy towards human and other horses after going through that.

  • @Mikabuki16

if a human can be autistic, why not a horse?

  • such a gentle soul

  • Is he still alive?

  • @MegaHorsegirly oh YES! Benny is still alive and playing every day. His favorite game is tearing down the fence between him and Paco LOL

  • @MegaHorsegirly have you checked out the 2010 Benny YouTube video? The 2010 video can give you an update on his condition. He is no longer being ridden since the video and his stocking up issues due to his contracted flexor tendons continue to hamper his movement but does not dampen his spirit - he's so full of joy and life

  • LOL!

  • sorry but what does autistic mean

  • @Xdie112X that someone is mentaly ill or they have problems with work or doin simple things somtimes if it a human they can't talk propley

  • First of all you have a very beatiful horse.

But I don't belevie in autistic horses. I'm trying to say this in a niice way but the horse feeds off of how you act around them so i don't belevie that he is an autistic horse.

  • This is very inspiring I must say. His story made me cry. I hope he lives a long and happy life.

  • What a beautiful horse. He is so cute with the simling picture at the end!

  • he is so beautiful

  • aww

  • Awwwwh! Hes so adorable(:

  • Something my farrier reminded me was "he's not being abused now" so NOW Benny is teaching people no matter the situation a horse comes from there is hope through patience, play and good health care that a formerly abused and sick horse can be a productive herd member given the opportunity.

  • what a different horse that soo sad what happen to him when he was a baby i wish i could help him and make him get better. I wouold also like to congrads you on what a fabby job your doing with him. benny is such a beautiful horse and if he was mine i wouldnt give him up for anything either

  • What does Benny's Circle of Giving mean? It's not money for Benny! It's a rebate program whereby the donor gets their donation back when they've made a purchase at Missy's Natural Barn website which the profit on the product sales provides cash and product donations to selected Horse Rescue Organizations. To learn more visit Missy's site Natural Barn dot com and click on Benny the Autistic Horse and Circle of Giving Q & A

  • He's cute! I feel so bad for him.

  • @horsegal1999 ahh thank you - no need to feel bad for him now he's happy and well :)

  • An amazing story and something I have never heard before. lovekills is right. He does look happy. In fact, in the last picture, he quite looks as though he is smiling, which, is something else new to me. Most autistic children are happy, simply because they know no better. He deserves the life he is being given now.

  • HOW CAN YOU TELL HE'S SPECIAL NEEDS? HE LOOKS HAPPY :)

  • @lovekillsslowly420 you can learn about Benny's condition and diagnosis on his webpage at Missy Wryn dot com Benny the Autistic Horse.

  • @lovekillsslowly420 Just because he's happy doesn't mean he's not autistic... Are you saying all autists are unhappy?

  • i have a autistic dog named dash

  • @TheJalopy7 WE HAD A SPECIAL DOG GROWING UP,HIS NAME WAS CHUNKY MONKEY PEANUT POSSUM BOY BURRUSS JR AND HE WAS A GREAT DOG

  • aw poor horse. it's good that u could take him. no horse deserves that kind of treatment Benny has suffered

  • For clarification Benny's Fund is a Circle of Giving whereby the donator receives an equivalent rebate to be applied to any purchases made at the Natural Barn dot com website which in turn provides financial support to horse Rescue organizations from products donated to actual cash (see the list of orgs supported on the website). Benny's Fund is about giving away money and products for auction to support horse rescue agencies, organizations that you are encouraged to contact for verification.

  • this is amazing...he is gorgeous! i love seeing video's of him.

  • What you've done for Benny is amazing, and I hope you continue to care and work with him because very few people I know would have the patience to do so.

  • I think this is an amazing story and what a great thing you are doing for Bennie! Every horse deserves a chance! Keep up the great work with and keep us posted on his progress! You are an amazing lady for doing what you are with him and I'm glad you didn't give up on him!

  • @Marcie401 Benny is an amazement to me. The fact that all he wants to do with people is play. There is not one resentful or fearful thought in his heart, just forgiveness and a big heap of "play with me". That's Benny

  • every time i see this video it britin up's my day to see that pritty horsey

  • So cute! So Sweet He looks so gentle!

  • so sweet :)

  • this is sad! :( such a beautiful horse god bless it!!

  • dont take this the wrong way- he is cute but he looks like he has down syndrome.

my little brother is autistic and he absolutly loves horses and he wants to jump (: except he wants one of the older lesson horses to jump over 5 ft :P lmao too cute

  • how do you know hes autistic?

  • @missorigamigirl you can learn more about Benny's diagnosis on his webpage. Visit MissyWryn "dot" com (YouTube does not allow me to type a website address) and click on Benny the Autistic Horse. Thank you for your interest

  • @wholistichorsewoman oh ok thanks (and just to say he is a beautiful horse! how old is he? do you know?)

  • @missorigamigirl Benny is 17 y/o now :)

  • @wholistichorsewoman aww is he doing good?

  • @missorigamigirl Benny is doing great. He's had a very good winter with an awesome coat. Funny how parts of his coat are still swirly which indicate areas of disruption within his body or energy within. It correlates directly with his conracted flexor tendons and how his hips are deformed and continuing to deform over the years compensating for his condition. I learn so much with Benny in my life - he's truly a gift.

  • @wholistichorsewoman well he is looking very health!

  • he is so cute!

  • Benny is BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • wow he is a GORGEOUS horse tho, beautiful coloring. i mean, just look at him at 0:41 !! you can't tell me that's not gorgeous <3

  • doesn't he have a face book picture? cause i swear i seen him on there!

  • @gypsydreamer09 yes he has a Facebook page

  • Is Benny a paint? If so, do you know his sire's name? He has a striking resemblance to my horse Cody, who was briefly a stallion.

  • @CanAmFam email me your horse's sire's name.

  • omg he is gorgeous!

  • he looks so happy on that pic from 2007

    he's adorable :)

  • He is adorable, Actually in other words: What hardcoreehannah said! Lol

  • awwwwwwwww

  • When you say 'Benny the Autistic horse' do you mean...that horse is legit .... autistic? Cause I never knew a horse could be...ACTUALLY ..... you know.... autistic. I thought that special quality was reserved for humans (:

  • What is parelli?

  • This has inspired me completley, I do parelli and have been since I was 10, I learnt parelli before I even sat on an horse, watching this just proves when its done right, its amazing. Never ever like you say give up, we have a TB rescue case with a chemical in-balance in her brain who on numerous occasions we've been told to shoot her before she kills us both, and i agree with what your saying. This gave me goosebumps, your a credit to the equine world! :) x

  • @emaieoghanahally

    what is Parelli? curious :)

  • @roxycooper100 Search the net on "Pat Parelli", he (and his wife Linda) are horse trainers. They train horses using the "Parelli-method", meaning more or less training by using the horses language. There are many other 'Natural Horsemanship" trainers, like Monty Roberts (my favourite), Carolyn Resnick, Hempfling, etc. There is - in my opinion - not one method that is THE best, but there's a lot to learn in all of them. There's a lot about it in Youtube! :))

  • so cute!

  • he is really cute but for the record i can kind of really see his ribs you kinda need to feed him more

  • He's absolutly gorgeous (:

  • He IS SOOO adorable!

  • he is the most gorgoes, adorable horse in the world!!you are so lucky!!!i might have to steal him!! LOL

  • i have the magazine he's in :) he's so cute! i love his face marking!

  • love his color

  • in the last pic, he looks like he is smiling. he obviously loves u very muuch :D

  • So for what i understand of this. He wasnt autistic when born, but he just has been "trained" to be autistic by not socializing him. Poor lonly horse. Im gonna read the whole site, just To learn something about this subject.

  • How do you find out a horse is Autistic? thats really sad :(

  • @breyercowgirl64

  • this is so sweet :D

  • Keep up the good work.

  • przecudowny czy jest na sprzedaż

  • I bought a 10 month old TWH filly whose 3 years old now. But for 6 months before I got her she had been stuck in a stall as well w/o seeing another horse, over grown feet, practically no muscles. But she's fine now and I dont keep her or my other horses stalled.

  • How did you out Benny had autism? Is a horse with autism even possible? I know they can have asma, but a horse with autism? never heard of that before.

  • @jenres1006 how does asthma hav anything 2 do w/ autism?

  • @miltonluver4 it doesnt. i was just sayin ive heard of horses w/ asma, but not of horses with autism

  • @jenres1006 o i get it lol

  • @jenres1006

why wouldn't it be possible that a horse has autism ?

  • You and Benny are beautiful souls

  • Awww what a sweety, I hope he is doing well (:

  • I wish there were more people like you out there.

  • Benny's story is so sad, but it's great he has someone responsible to take care of him.

  • god bless you for doing this!

  • Poor Benny! Why just him? He is so beautiful (i love palominos) and cute, he just don't deserve this fate. And he is very lucky that life have put your ways together so you could save him. It would be a shame if so beauty horse was put down!

  • so beautiful

  • I'm not gonna read all the crap thats in the discription cause I don't feel like reading a novel ;)

    But He's SOOO Cute!!!!!!!!

  • Such a beautiful, inspirational story. You're his guardian angel for sure, because without you that horse may not have had a second chance. It's awful what people can do to those wonderful animals, but it's wonderful that there are still people with souls out there as well. :)

  • Biautifoul!

  • awwww that beautifl

  • she's gorgeous poor thing to be autistic is it, by the way i'm not 100% sure what that is or the symptions can u tell me?

  • @shadedsoulhorse

beiing autistic isn't bad, it isn't a dissease or something, it's just an other way of thinking and acting, it isn't wrong or bad or horrible, it's just beiing diffrent then what people are used to.

  • Benny is beautiful, how is he getting on now? I hope he is okay :) xxx

  • Its a buetifull horse (sorry if i spell it incorrect i m from belgium )

  • awww such a gorgeous horse! it was soooo nice of you to give him a second chance :) he seems to really love you.

  • gorgeous animal, seems like he really trusts you. this made my day

  • horses can be autistic too? WEIRD

  • @00bleeding

    why is that weird ?

  • @SweetLectro Because no one has ever heard of animals displaying autistic tendencies. Benny was diagnosed by a HUMAN child psychologist...

  • i used to work at long run here in ontario where would help horses with there problems, what u have done here is truly amazing, congrates on ur amazing, beautiful horse!

  • beautiful horse

  • ahhhh. thats sad.... oooohhh hes really cute though!!!!

  • nádhera!!! Nice nice nice:)

  • Beautifull horse!

  • I own a horse, who does not display those behaviors as severely but still acts more like a human child because he was weaned early and only was handled by humans. He has learned herd behavior from being out with them when he turned a year old, but it took him a while to grasp their language. I've trianed a few PMU foals who are the same way, the act more like people and try to mimick our language and can't, but they can not grasp their own.

  • thats so sad!

  • What A Beautiful Horse. It Is Sad That A Horse Has To Live WIth Disabilities, Just Like Any Other Animal, But Im Sure That Benny Is The Happiest Horse In The World With An Owner Like You.

  • interesting that the herd has pushed him out... makes sense though. Dogs do the same, if they sense a member is mentally unstable, they push them out. So I guess now I am not surprised they do the same.

  • I know that autistic humans have a sensitivity to touch.. so can people ride him?

and does he respond to voices? or interact with other horses? This is sad but he is beautiful :)

  • @bdiggity3

autism is diffrent for every human so it is to for animals, it isn't always the same, most of the time it is always diffrent

  • Awww he is so pretty!! :) I never knew that horses could have Autism :(

That's sad, although he looks VERY happy & well taken care of. Great job with him! :)
