  • I need the cords badly

  • This is so nostalgic beyond the threshold of pain. "The sound of the seagulls distant cry, their wings like parentheses in the sky," what a lyric and even that's nostalgic as the blighters now swarm around inland city centres.

  • is there anything to say than: WOW

  • I wish we had a recording of BOTH of them singing "try to remember the kind of september" I used to fantasise about nina when I was a teenager. lol I still think she is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my 72 years.

  • Thanks for posting this great rendition!

  • We are all young again. Such wonderful happy memories this song brings to all of us during the early sixties. I had the great pleasure of seeing them in the Albert Hall , and then the bubble burst.! They separated a few days later.!! IC.B

  • Nina must have been one of the most beautiful women in the world.

  • One of my favorite songs during my early teen years in the sixties which can be best sung only by Nina & Frederik. Thanks for sharing.

  • What a treasure, a golden voice and captivating music from my childhood days in the Cameroons. I used to love this song, and still do

  • my husband and I have just retired from Ottawa to a beautiful beach-front home on Grand Lake in New Brunswick (Canada) - the water laps the shore all the time and reminds me of the Ocean and, like all of you, the song from my youth started coming over me in gentle waves & I was blessed to find it here on U-Tube tonight. Thank you, whoever placed it there. Lisa

  • Nina is the Nina who had an affair with Clifford Irving who wrote the fake biography of Howard Hughes

  • absolutely great:

I remember them at Portsmouth Guildhall,

my, that was a long time ago:

    still great

  • Always loved this. My record got worn out with scratches till it was scratched.

What a pleasure to here it again. Thank you Count and Countess van P. Heard of you you when I was a child.

  • I don't know what made me go looking for this song, but wow!, it takes me back many, many years.

  • Two days ago for some unknown reason, the chorus came to me right out of the blue. I could only remember that but knew the song was played on radio when I was a kid. It tormented me until I went looking for it on the internet and now I have found it. The brain works in wondrous ways. Magnificent song. Listen to the Ocean did not chart at all nationally in he U.S. but must have been played on Detroit and Windsor stations otherwise how would I have heard it.

  • This takes me back. Our whole family loved them. How wonderful to find this.Such a lovely couple. Thanks for reminding me..."sippin cider through a straw' Off to try and find it.

  • @mspatrat :) You can find Sippin Cider on my N&F playlist

  • I remember these two well. My real name is also Nina and I could never go past the local boys without them yelling out 'Hey Nina, where's Frederik'. Used to get teased so much. Was told teasing was because the boys liked me, so that made me feel ok about the name calling, such a funny memory. How I wished I had her beautiful singing voice though, so clear and gentle.

  • omg I used to love this song! what a blast from the past!! Thank you!

  • @IrinaFvR

Ups!!! According to official records Nina was born in Copenhagen/Denmark on July 15th in 1932 making her 78 years young and not 83. Another Youtube user informs that she now lives in Barcelona. Hope this helps. Best wishes from a long-time fan in Copenhagen.

  • @danishdelite Oh yes, my mistake. I was confused.... I know where she lives etc. because Frederik is my uncle. But thanks for correcting me! Best wishes

  • My parents loved this song when I was a child and of course us kids loved it also.

  • bedankt voor het plaatsen IrinaFvR. jeugd sentiment.

  • SUBLIME! A delicious shiver goes through the whole body listening to this unique sound.

    Meilleurs sentiments.

    François

  • I think I heard this music before I was born and everyday of my years as an infant and a young man. The imageries conveyed in the lyrics contributed to my yearning, to experience every feeling ever discribed in word. I could play this ballad 200 times a day and not be content. The more I listen, the farther away from reality the imageries discribed here become...Where is this world I craved to encounter, as discribed by Nina and Frederik?

  • I listened this a lot as a child. I introduced my daughter today. My parents loved Nina and Frederik. So tragic how Frederik ended.

  • I always luv this duo, very soothing to listen to their voices

  • There is nothing else quite like it! Sublime

  • awesome. Thank you so much.

  • Now, all we need is "sipping cider through a straw". I also have the vinyl, but not in a position to digitize right now. Grew up listening to these. One of my parents' favorites.

  • @SpottyTwoshoes1 I've got Sippin Cider, you can find it on my N&F playlist
