Religion can't be proven to be correct. God can't be proven and the bible can't be proven. Science, however, can be proven. The creation of the universe can be proven through science. Science also proves evolution and science has even proven that something created the universe, and not that "nothing created the universe" as many religious nuts claim. Even in NT times (1 Timothy reference) slavery was still around. Jesus does not tell them to take slaves, but tells them how to behave toward their master/servant as Christians (assuming of course there are legal issues having to do with said slavery that keeps it going - God does not tell His people to break covenants).

How can you trust those who believe there is no God, and that we were formed from single celled organisms over millions of years; if you do not trust their findings? To see for yourself, you would have to go back and do all their research over firsthand, so you could see the results for yourself, rather than believe their report. This would take many lifetimes. You HAVE to believe someone on the list; or you would not be defending your position.

Religious people have done no tests, nothing that is reproducible as a result, after years and years of testing, why not trust that their results may be more reliable than a man who has read out of one book or maybe several books based on that book, which has questionable content. Objectivity is the key to the scientific method. It is interesting how much of science and religion we hold as truth, when in reality it falls apart upon applying the scientific method to reasoning. Several hundred years ago people were persecuted for applying the scientific method to science and religion. People questioned and sought. Do not dismiss the Bible so quickly to fall socially in line to prove your "correct" thinking. Keep in mind that theory and law are two different words.

However, I did cross-reference Leviticus Chap. 18, and also Chap 20. and that word is used in reference to the various sexual sins (which for most the penalty was DEATH). New Testament references to Homosexuality (Apart from Romans 1) are 'effeminate' and 'abusers of themselves w/ mankind. You left out Genesis ch. 18 and 19

Times 4000-5000 years ago were NOT like times today. Even in NT times (1 Timothy reference) slavery was still around. Jesus does not tell them to take slaves, but tells them how to behave toward their master/servant as Christians (assuming of course there are legal issues having to do with said slavery that keeps it going - God does not tell His people to break covenants).

@CAUGHTUPALIVE1 Because I don't have to, because there are people like you, and there's something to hate about everyone. and I was including the protestants, the eastern orthodox, evangelical and the Catholics as a group, Christians. And that's the opposite of how people work, they don't believe it until they have proof, so that argument is getting you nowhere, If you were to have some non-scriptural, physical or measurable evidence to back that scripture up, that would be a good first step

@WhyNotHateThemAll Just because somebody says that they are worship Christ; does not mean they do. Compare biblical doctrines with Roman Catholic ones. Nope. Eastern Orthodox? Nope. Protestants and evangelicals is too broad a term, you have to check out individual beliefs.

@CAUGHTUPALIVE1 I am sure if you were to look up a list of christian denominations on Wikipedia you would find that there are many branches of your religion. though I am not sure about some christians, the more evangelical and, well, loud such as those who do book burnings(think Koran) and that pastor predicting doomsday all the time, I know that they worship the same god, died on cross, came back, did miracles etc. just the ways they might worship differ.

@WhyNotHateThemAll Terry Jones burned the Qur'an because he believes its ideology is DANGEROUS to our way of life (he is dead on); and I may not agree with his methods entirely, BUT it took alot of guts to do what he did; especially when so many others are bowing their heads to Islam (Google: CHRISLAM) The 'May 21st Rapture' guy, Harold Camping is clearly a scam artist. Just because someone SAYS they are a Christian; does not mean they are telling the truth. WE ARE ALL SINNERS. Romans ch. 3

@CAUGHTUPALIVE1 That one thing being that Harold Camping is a scam artist, and just because you state that there is a god, doesn't mean your telling the truth, nor that you are correct for that matter. Your information could be based off of biased information, as well as inaccurate information at that. However I will not use the nuclear tactic as you are trying to, There have been tests, evidence, and calculations all made by some of the worlds best minds to back scientific theory up.

Do you have faith, based on said knowledge, that what is promised will come to pass?

@CAUGHTUPALIVE1 Atheism is a disbelief in all religions, so it would be a NO, NO, NO no trust in the source(aside from those who probably have done enough research to know what they are talking about) Never believe the information unless it is based off of proper evidence(which I have not seen any religious person give) No, we interpret the data, nothing is promised only predicted as a probability based upon the variables at hand. other than that atheism is just disbelief, not belief

How can you trust those who believe there is no God, and that we were formed from single celled organisms over millions of years; if you do not trust their findings? To see for yourself, you would have to go back and do all their research over firsthand, so you could see the results for yourself, rather than believe their report. This would take many lifetimes. You HAVE to believe someone on the list; or you would not be defending your position.

Religious people have done no tests, nothing that is reproducible as a result, after years and years of testing, why not trust that their results may be more reliable than a man who has read out of one book or maybe several books based on that book, which has questionable content. All Im saying is that using this nuclear tactic (ex. everyone has to believe something) is certainly doing the trick, making it so you can walk away

How do you determine who has done enough research to know what they are talking about? Yes I did read out of a book (Bible is 66 books, actually, in one volume), to gain an understanding of who God is. And as I did so, He began to reveal himself to me in supernatural ways. God does not leave His people hanging.

@WhyNotHateThemAll Seriously? You need to study up on Islam. If they didn't riot over Terry Jones, they would have found some other excuse to do what they did. Muslim Ideology is thus. There will only be peace when the whole world is Muslim. Until that happens it is your to make them:
a) become Muslim
b) submit to Muslim domination as slaves and pay a tribute to the Nation of Islam (Jizya)
c) subdue and/or destroy them by force
And that is in THEIR HOLY BOOK. See WHY Jones did what he did?

And no, it is not convenient. But it saves you from quite a few more troubles than if supernatural things just started to happen out of the blue and you had no explanation or precedent. How would you handle it?

@karlesing Last Supper: read Matthew Chapter 26; Mark 14; Luke 22; and 1 Corinthians 11:23-34 (which also explains it) and please show me when it was that the apostles cannibalized Jesus? If I recall, they ate bread and drank wine. Which Jesus said to do as a memorial of His coming death.
And I have been through enough as a Christian to know that Jesus Christ's resurrection IS REAL, and that all the power afforded to believers in the Bible IS REAL; otherwise I would not be alive today. :-)
