Finntroll's first two albums surpass ALL OTHER FOLK METAL. They have a totally kickass, natural sound, not that mass produced mainstream shit everywhere else.

It's a shame that most people think Finntroll is only about partying to metal-polka. The early Finntroll albums like Midnattens Widunder had absolutely great lyrics. Serious anti-christian, pro-heathen lyrics disguised as funny troll-tales. And the music was much darker too. I loved that.

What I like the most about this band is that all their songs are different and unique in their own way. When you hear most other bands play (like Dragonforce, for example) you hear that most of their songs are almost exactly like their earlier songs. Yepp.. Suomi/Finland was swedish/taken by sweden way back in time, both swedish and finish people have been moving back and forth truout time etc .They are tightly bound or how i should put it.
Both swedish and finish are national languages in Finland, and 95% of the finish people know how to speak and write swedish.

@Razie1141 though Eluveitie is a good band no doubt, their latest album seemed to focus more on guitar than the pure folky goodness of such songs as Inis Mona or Uis Elveti, that has sellout scribbled on it. 1. Don't bash other metal artists we need to unite. We can't fight against fight against pop or rap if we aren't even together.

Yepp.. Suomi/Finland was swedish/taken by sweden way back in time, both swedish and finish people have been moving back and forth truout time etc .They are tightly bound or how i should put it.
Both swedish and finish are national languages in Finland, and 95% of the finish people know how to speak and write swedish.

@darkness955 I watched an interview with them (long time ago) there they discussed this, and in finland there are actually 2 official languages, finnish and swedish, finntroll decided to sing in swedish because it is more "trollish" sounding =)

@Razie1141 though Eluveitie is a good band no doubt, their latest album seemed to focus more on guitar than the pure folky goodness of such songs as Inis Mona or Uis Elveti, that has sellout scribbled on it. But still, MASSIVE respect for using no keyboards! FInntroll is the band that made Folk Metal possible though

If you're from western europe, and have some intelligence and understanding of language, it's not at all hard to somewhat get another western european language, especially not if you either speak/have to understand Dutch, Danish or German ;). But NEVER make the mistake of calling a Dutch or Danish person German, or vise versa, haha
